Legendary Trio "KöS", is in full

effect for mass effect...but

how will they live up to such

a lofty standard: "Legendary"?

Well, for starters, each of the

three has over ten years of

experience as musicians, and

over fifty years of music

experience, collectively.

Living Legend, Black S.T.E.E.L., leads the way with over 20 years of experience, starting at the age of 14. As is evidenced in his overall sound and maturity, he has honed his craft amongst the likes of some of the industry greats, and thus, has become, himself, an almost unrivaled lyricist. From his humble beginnings as a best boxer and budding turntablist, his acumen for on point freestyle ability eventually gave way to penning stories, and eventually rhymes, with deft technical skill and ability. He has since gone on to open for a veritable "who's who" of hip hop acts--both locally, and nationally--as well as having been the host for Ebony Square, the then-longest running spoken word venue in New Orleans. Fast forward to modern day, & S.T.E.E.L. is as seasoned a veteran that the likes of hip hop has yet to see on a large scale; the fact that he’s been underground from day one and remains there, is a testament to his loyalty to the craft, in favor of industrialized success. The limelight is primarily for those who have trouble shining through the vast darkness, so we illuminate them; S.T.E.E.L. is just the opposite. His luminescence is so great that the limelight would only be detrimental to his cause.

Next we have the meat, gravy, potatoes, steak & dessert; The heart & soul: The provident producer Rodrigue. At age five, his father taught him how to play the tabla drums, and was introduced to hip hop in 1996. After bobbing his head to the likes of Nas, Tupac, Outkast, No-Limit & the like. His career as a musician was furthered at age 9 joined the band and took up the trombone. From then on, mastering the art of hip hop production became his destiny. His affinity for music continues to this day however it hit a crescendo in 2007, when he picked up his first beat machine, and with a copy of fruity loops at the ready, he stands prepared to take the world by storm with his revolutionary style. Today, Rodrigue’s production stands up to some of the most world renowned producers & composers. He composes scores of music that consists of his own instrumentation, as well as sampling classic music from all genres. This is what makes Rodrigue the impossibly invaluable diamond in the rough — he draws from all music and all art forms and is continually inspired to live up to his title of being "Legendary".

And finally, Last, but most certainly not least, is the rampant renegade of renovation. The righteous, regal rastafari Toots x Marley. Toots began his music career well before birth. How is this possible, you might ask? Well, with a family so well endowed with musicians and artists not to mention a legendary older brother by the name of Black S.T.E.E.L., it may almost seem as if the stars have aligned for this young artist. Not to mention, being immersed in New Orleans’ culture, there’s no doubt that this young man would become an artist of his own. Inspired by his environment, Toots has always been a meticulously observant individual, which is to say his attention to detail is unrivaled. In 2001, at age 9, he began his career in music in elementary school by joining the school’s choir; from then on it was fate. Channeling the New Orleanian culture, and it's world renown and incessant desire for all things fun (think, Mardi Gras, et al), Toots took to the marching band as soon as he could join, which was in middle school. He began as a snare drummer, ended a tenor drummer, and swiftly arose to the title of section leader for the tenor. This continued until high school, where he learned to play the trumpet, & learned to read music. His first endeavor in rap was in the 6th grade, when he wrote a rhyme for a talent show; out of dozens of competitors, he placed third overall, and his passion for music undeniably augmented. Today, Toots dedicates his entire existence to art, and furthering the art form that is rap.

In a world where babylon’s tyranny reigns supreme, it is only

natural that the universe would birth individuals who dare to

stand against such tyranny. Toots is one such person.

The collective known as KöS, for its part, stands on this

principle, exactly. They are far from the norm, and would prefer

to be anything BUT the norm. Call them outliers if you must;

outlaws if you’re the feds. Regardless of what you call them,

you cannot deny the sheer ingenuity of this group. Forged in the

crucible of life, like carbon and pressured constantly, they have

reached that diamond state. They stand together as a beacon of

hope, in a world enslaved by worldly desires & false passions.

They stand by three pre-tenses, which are also three of the

many acronyms that are K.ö.S.: "Know Thyself". Be a "King Of

the Streets". And by all means, "Kreation of Self" is the most

important thing that you could do. In a world where originality

is slowly dying, they are the spark that makes an idea bright;

The same spark that lights the dark, so that you can know your

left from your right.
