• when done growing could be more deadly then parent

• Krakatoa formed by convergent boundary• Convergent boundaries result in cone shaped

volcanoes (which Krakatoa is) Trenches and EQ

Future of Krakatoa

• Krakatoa no longer exists

• Anak Krakatoa now stands in it’s place

• It grows at about 5 inches per a week

• Volcanologists say Anak Krakatoa could be more devastating then Krakatoa

• Anak Krakatoa erupts up to 100 times a day

• Anak Krakatoa is no threat to people…yet• It is a popular tourist attraction• The danger level on the volcano is three not to dangerous• A tourist from New Haven Connecticut said she was incredibly

lucky to see it• Also Islands near Krakatoa have rich soil from the Volcanic ash• Most people who live in Indonesia live on Java and Bali

• Krakatoa was first protected in 1921 • Krakatoa was founded as a national park in 1980.

• The parks area is 1,367sq km,(528 sq miles)

Effects of Krakatoa• The ash from Krakatoa went high up in the Stratosphere

• The ash blocked enough sunlight to drop world temperature by several degrees

• The ash also made beautiful atmospheric optical effect
