The picture that I am going to write about is a ”A lesson In Graphics” , by an Austrian artist Norbert Nestler. I really liked this painting, I cannot forget about it. It made me think about life and death. The painting is dark and sad. There is a lot of black color in it. In the central place of the painting we can see the X-ray picture of the bones. We can say for sure that the person who had that X-ray was dying of cencer. It makes you think for a moment about life, suffering and death. We do not know much about person who had that X- ray. We do not now if it is a man or woman. We do not know how old she or he is. We can only see the picture which strikes us. In the painting we can also see a piece of paper and a pen. We can suspect that it is a prescnption.

“A lesson in Graphics” is a lesson of like. In the same way as the painter learns graphics, we learn how to live. One bad move of the painter can destroz the whole painting and cancer can destroz a man is life.

I was at an exhibition in ‘’Bunkier sztuki” on 10 November. When I was there I saw the painting “Essence of Life” by Jutta Odenwaelder from Singapore, which made the biggest impression on me.

The painting shows Chinese alphabet’s letters, which are put on a red-white-blue background. Colors of this painting are very intensive and perfectly connected to the painting’s title. In my opinion the red is symbol of love and warm, the blue – water and air. All these are elements without which people would not be able to live. When I look at this picture I can find there a piece of myself. The colors, which the painter used describe my life and what I love, what I feel. Jutta Odenwaelder’s print is very simple, however there is a lot of hidden meanings. When look at this work of art I start to think about my hobby – Wisla Krakow, because the colors of my favorite club are the same as in the picture. I think that is the reason why I like it so much. I think that it is a very interesting and nice piece of art.

When I saw this painting I exactly knew that I would want to describe it.

I would like to describe the picture of a Polish artist Małgorzata “Malwina” Niespodziewana. She created “Carpet I”. I think it’s a very interesting print and I would like to interpret it.

Firstly, we can see many footmarks and finger-marks. If we treat this carpet as a human life, these marks will be our deeds or associations which we do during our lives. Some of these prints will be left on the carpet (e.g. our life) forever and they will not vanish even after the washing. They will not be forgotten. Another argument is that these marks can be good or bad but they have to be special to remain on our “carpet”.

In conclusion, I showed one of many explanations of this picture but I think that I only touched the main topic of the picture.

I would like to describe the picture of Hungarian artist Árpád Daradics, a print entitled “Red stories series: lambs’’. This work of art interested me and I would like to share my interpretation of it with you. In the picture we can see the girl in a white dress and a veil. Her body and clothes are covered by red lambs. The girls body is all white besides her black hands. In the first place I want to say that in my opinion the main theme of this picture is crime which is commited by somebody who is innocent. The white dress which wears this girl is a symbol of innocence, of life without a sin. I think her dark hands can tell us something about her past. In my opinion she lived during the time of war and she had to commit murder if she wanted to survive. Those red lambs could represent all the terrible things she must have done. Secondly the picture made me reflect on life, war, and death. I would pay more attention to this girl. She looks like somebody who is after her First Communion. She steps up to her older life with the premonition of murder, pain and “blood” on her hands. In conclusion I want to emphasize the artist’s message to us. He wanted to show us how destructive the war can be to young people and advertise us not to repeat the mistakes of the past.

When I toured the exhibition at an art gallery, I payed special attention to the print by Virge Joekalda from Estonia. It is title is “Throbs III”.

The work of art represented the red poppies on the white background. My first associations are: death, sadness and uncertainty. The picture is so gloomy and mysterious. The poppies in the picture are so sad. The flowers gobelts are turned to pit. They seem to be like death. They also seem to be crying or they feel shame about something. The red is a color of blood. This color was so clear on the white background, so provocative, unbearable and noisy. Maybe the flowers are bloody or this red is a red of their cheeks. The white background aroused inside me uncertainty, fear. The white color inflicted impression of emptiness. The white – the color so clear and innocent – conveyed suffering of the sad flowers. Maybe someone said: “This picture just shows several flowers on the white background – nothing special”. I do not think that. For me this work of art is full of emotion and deep essence. His mysterious and gloomy is power of this picture. “Throbs III”, I think, that is such a good title for this print.

On the 10th of October 2006 my class and me were in an art gallery called “Bunker of Art”. In this exhibition I saw a lot of interesting and curious prints and digital photos. However, the biggest impression made on me the digital print of Korean painter Chang – Soo Kim, titled “Flickering – life trace”.

This image presents the palm of a man that is all covered in blood. I have chosen this digital print because, out of all the works of art, this one makes me think about it. It is very brutal and sad. It presents the brutality of human life. The owner of this palm probably committed a terrible crime. I think that he has killed somebody and now he is looking at the blood of his victim. Maybe he had regretted his crime when he saw the running trace of life. This print evokes many contradictory feelings within me.

In my opinion that visit was very exciting. It has changed my opinion about modern art.

Vacuum, despair, sense of injustice and urgency tucked away, where nobody will find it, none will again accuse, disappoint. I think that these are feelings of a boy presented by Zbigniew Bajek.

He is lonely, because the background is black. The boy is left alone with his troubles, he is looking for somebody who can help him. We can see three pictures of the same man. In the left hand picture the boy is presented from his left profile. He is about 20 years old. He isn’t looking at me, us... Perhaps he is ashamed of something... Why? Someone, who was his friend, heard him, broke his heart... Why? Against the background of the picture appear also the same man, but he looks like otherwise. Certainly he still suffers, however he reconciled with his fate, because he stopped crying. But what’s the reason? I think that I can give an answer to all these questions. I pay attention to color, which is covering the boy’s face. What is this color? Orange-yellow. By the same token J can tell that the color has sth to do with the title of picture (part title),,(...)Yellow". This ,,Yellow" is a symbol. A close friend accused his, malign. We can imagine, what the man feels man, who has experienced humility by his friend. Two faces (in the left hand picture and face in the middle) are pity, disappointment. Third face is accepting everything with peace. I selected the picture.

According to the Book of Tobias. Yellow years XI" because a boy, who is in the picture teaches me, that people should recover from pity. It is clear in particular in the third picture, where the boy stopped crying. This picture is describing story of boy’s suffering.

This place in some space is white and empty. ‘’White”, which is not only a color but also the foundation for all various hues. ‘’Empty”, which is not only non-existence, but it is the augury for something amazing. It is the door to beautiful world, where are not sadness tears or horrible things. White space is a symbol of that we need so many dreams to fill the vacuum.

There is a woman in this space. She is asleep and her soul is beginning a wonderful flight to the sun. She does not remember who she is and what she must do. She is leaving the prosaic world. She is mind is in the hue of angels as well…

The woman is lonely, but when her leaves her body, she will meet her friends and family, who went away long ago. They will talk and laugh. All will be easy and plain. This is the paint of being free. But that is only a dream.

From among all those interesting and puzzling works of art. It is difficult to select one which is most expressive. However, I was most bewitched by Michael Bator’s print ,,Thicket 2”. He comes from Germany.

First impression-nothing curious. Only grass and leaves. However, I like nature and this fact allows me to reflect on that picture. Exuberant grass associates with wealth of people’s lives. Grass bent in all directions tells as about different sides of our lives problems. Thicket matches also the inevitable uncertainly of the next day. Bator’s print reflects on our lives. We do not know what is waiting for us. At every step new experience and surprise wait for us. In thicket grass also hides many riddles as well as in our lives.The picture conveys volatile moments and the weakness of people’s souls. As grass rocks in the wind, the same way we often change our opinions. This fact makes us reflect on our character or rather our submission which we undoubtedly harbor. Looking at this print we start to think about the o our own lives. Is he known how to do make the most of every second of this life?!

,,Thicket 2” – title uncommon directly, but very haranguing. Thicket it is something profound, enigmatic and unknown. It is necessary to touch the depth of human soul and become acquainted with values followed by others. To sum up, our lives represents the depth of the wealth of our values, which we must find out and become acquainted with.

The most interesting picture for me of that exhibition is „Raised Hide, dyptych” Rene Kempen. I think that is the best print because it “tells” us about Auschwitz. Those were dreary and sad times, when people were killed and they could not say anything for themselves.

However, the pulpit serves for speaking out loudly. Nowadays people do not have any restrictions. They can say what they want. People are independent.

But when Hitler lived, concentration camps were built. Exactly there were guard towers. They look just like those raised hides in the picture. In those camps silence and pain dominated. We can see contrast here, because there are four objects looking identical.

The picture is dark, the colors are sad. Everything is crying, because everyone knows the truth. We cannot forget that truth, because it is very important for us and for people who were killed and for their families.

So, that print made a huge impression on me. At the exhibition there were a lot of great works of art, but in my opinion that one is exceptional.

At the first sight, the screenprint of the Slovak Peter Augustovi[c], titled „FXM in Mirror 1”, seems rather dull and boring. The background is grey with a rather darker shade of this colour, which makes me feel worried.

The picture itself is not very big, so you need to be careful as that will help you to notice every single part of this work, which seems very interesting not only for the art critic, but also for the usual art-gallery goer. On the very grey background we can see a corner of a room. In the corner a man is sitting on a chair. His head is hanging down, his eyes are looking down at his feet; this man seems to be very, very sad; or maybe a little bit scared? As I looked at this part of the picture, I sympathised with him. He made such a poor impression... Why is this man so afraid, what is the reason, that he looks as he does…? The answer to this question is brought by the greatest part of the picture – two heads. Seen from their profiles, all in deep black, with their mouths opened in a scream, these heads – as the title reveals – are the face of one man with its reflection in a mirror. What does the man on the chair symbolise in this context? Is he the personification of fear? Or maybe he is the symbol of the remorse that is so big taht this man cannot deal with it?

Whatever the interpretation might be, my personal feeling – while standing in front of this picture – is fear, and sympathy. But would I be as sympathetic if this was a usual and ugly man? I think I’d pass right by him… So that is the point – we consider only beauty in our lives. If somebody is no-one important, no-one good-looking – he is not worth our attention. Sad but true.

I want to describe the picture by Arpad Daradics (Hungary) from the Red Stories Series: “Lambs”, because It’s such a poignant picture. The interpretation is difficult , but I would like to explain the mystery of this image. In the foreground there is a cute, little girl, who’s wearing old-fashioned Communion clothes: a white dress and a veil, but there are mysterious red lambs on her dress. Some of them are big and the other are smaller. It’s really bizarre. Moreover, the girl has got white body and black hands! I’m impressed by the author’s vision. In my opinion this picture has got a really important message about the Second World War. While I was looking at the print I started to think about poor children who died during this war. Maybe this girl died on her Communion Day? It’s possible, but we don’t know what the red lambs on her dress mean. I guess that lambs are bloody sins of Axis Powers during the war. The black arms are the symbol of her previous life. Maybe it’s funny, but I was afraid when I looked at this picture in the gallery. In my opinion this girl is talking to us about death, misery and cruel soldiers.

Picture by Arpad Daradics is such a wonderful one: beautiful, frightening and also scary. I admire the artist because he has big imagination and a big heart.

I saw „ Haitian Dance Fantasy” at the International Print Triennials in Cracow. I have seen this picture once, but I will remember it for a long time.

Why did I single out that particular print? The majority of art works at the exhibition were dark and sad. The others were very gaudy and artificial. “Haitian Dance Fantasy” isn’t like that. It shows simple, natural happiness. It includes real emotions. In the picture there is a dancing woman. It is so common! You can ask me – what is the point? Why did I choose Mazzocca’s picture to write about? I’m fascinated by the way which the artist has chosen to show the movement. When I was looking at this painting, I was under the impression that this woman was dancing one of this fast, Latin American dances. Maybe that’s the essence of Haitian dance too. I always wanted to dance. Feelings find expression in dancing. When you are looking at Mazzocca’s print you can almost share the passion of dancing with the woman, her happiness to be alive.

Gus Mazzocca made use of warm colors – red, yellow, orange. It gives the effect of joy and makes this work lively and bright.

In my opinion this painting is shouting “Carpe Diem!”. It is shouting the same to everyone of us. It is your decision – would you listen to its voice?

I admire the woman in the picture. She forgets about all her problems while she is dancing the Haitian dance. She is free, wonderfully free… I want to be free just like her!Can I? “Carpe Diem”…

I have chosen to describe the picture entitled "Throbs III" by Virge Joekalda. In this print we can see a few red flowers. But these flowers have slightly irregular stalks. I think that these flowers symbolize people. They have a weak stalks. I think that these stalks mean that people are very weak, they easily can change their opinions when the fortune seems wrong.

But in this picture these flowers have a beautiful red inflorescence. It symbolize that every man is made to do good acts. This picture has a very clever moral, which is very important for people. Every man should know that he is good. Of course all of us can sometimes sin or do bad acts, but we must forgive.

I think that this print is very metaphorical, and everyone has their own interpretation for this work.

On 10th of October my class were at the graphics exhibition at the “art bunker”. The exhibition title was “International Print Triennial”. The jury selected 322 graphic works by 229 artists from 50 countries that will be displayed in the main exposure and awarded the Grand Prix as well as other prizes. In exposition there were many kinds of engravings, and it is hard to single out one author or work. Every work was original and had individual remittance, so everyone could find something in his taste. Some exhibits maybe were slightly thrilling but the present world is not quiet either. Art principally should be an answer to actuality, not only satisfaction for aesthetics. However, it is not a subject of this essay. I cannot select one print so instead I decided to write about a few works, which, according to me, have the same meaning. This coruprises have: „252 disjointed lines in white 252 lines in black”, „252 disjointed lines in black 252 lines in white” (both by Horst Bartnig), „Back Space” and „Back Bone” (C. Boucher) and „Self-Portrait” (C.K.Burman). They neither have similar outlook nor were made in the same technique. However, I thing that they have got a lot in common. I consider that they show different views on one thing. They say that nothing is “black or white” but maybe it is grey or even white-black and inversely.

These prints teach us how to look at the world from different augles and let us observe good and bad parts of this prospect. It is not only things and phenomena but also people, their feelings, excitements, reactions: shine and shadows of life. In my opinion, they show the world as it is- beautiful and terrific at the same time. It is hard recapitulate my considerations, but I can say that art is the means for accowriting for your emotion. It helps to disclose what a human cannot say with words.

I visited an exhibition in the art gallery ‘Bunkier sztuki’ last week. I saw a lot of interesting pictures there. They were wonderful. Each of them was different from each other and each conveyed anther message . They were funny, sad or horrific. It was a great pleasure to see these picture I enjoyed the most a picture titled ‘Self-portret’. The author is chila Kumari Burman. Chila’s work of art is very colourful. She introduces hesself in dozens of small pictures which present her own personality. Their graphics very curious. I think she has difficulty in describing herselfe and she wants to show that in our world that people lead double lives. People are at the same time, both sympathetic or unfriendly, sad or cheerful. In my opinien Chila Kumar Burman displays a very interesting and anusual portait of herself. Looking at her work i imagine myself being sometimes very happy but sometimes upset .

Blood. It was my first association when I saw this picture. It was a baby’s face but everything was red. I though about abortion. But something was wrong. Baby was not sad and it was not crying. A child was happy and it was smiling. And then I saw an inscription ‘Not for sale’. I understood that it was a baby of a woman who loves it very much and who will never get rid of her child.

In my opinion this picture is something like homage to pay to every unborn child. I do not understand women who abort their kids. I cannot judge them but sometimes I think… have they pangs of conscience? I do not know but I know one thing – this picture impressed me and compelled me to think about abortion’s problem.

This picture is called ‘Not for sale (red version). Katarzyna Łukasik was an author of it.

'What's that?‘ Mika looked up from the sketchpad lying on her knees and saw José, standing in front of her. He was staring at the picture she drew and trying to see anything among her fingers. 'A sketch of a picture I'll send for the competition,' she answered a bit reluctantly. The man sat on the grass next to her and looked over her shoulder at the sheet of paper. It pictured some strange blue creature on the left and a few leaves on the remaining part of the page, all drawn quite carelessly with crayons. José had a little problem with identyfing the animal, but he took a risk and said: 'Nice crocodile, really. 'Mika's glare was enough to make him start thinking about the best way of escape. 'It's a frog,' she growled with an insulted face. José bravely decided to defend his opinion. 'It can be anythin' BUT frog,' he stated and again met Mika's bloodthirsty stare. 'You see? Just correct it here... and here... and-‘ 'Maybe you'll draw your own one,' suggested Mika really politely, moving the sketch-book away from his reach. 'This work is mine and I don't wanna change anythin'.‘ 'But doesn't art insist on changing?' asked José with a mean smile in a corner of his lips. Mika had averted her head and was pretending she didn't hear anything. 'When you have an idea, draw it. But when after some time you realise it doesn't look like it should, just change it. You were the one who told me the modern art should be spontaneous, didn't' cha?‘ 'Yeah, yeah,' she murmured and waved her hand as if she wanted to get rid of some pushy insect. 'Now go and gnaw someone else, will ya?‘ 'It really looks more like a crocodile, y'know,' he said just before walking away. Mika had observed him untill he disappeared behind the trees - then she sighed deeply and took a black crayon into her hand. 'Day after day he's gettin' more and more troublesome,' she muttered to herself while drawing in the frog's mouth some sharp, crocodile-like teeth.

Modern art has been misunderstood since it was being produced. Some people can not imagine how a pile of bricks, a picture with only a small writing or a group of rectangles in it we can call „art”. I think the purpose of modern art is to provoke people. The author wants to show us something amazing, and what he felt during the process of painting this picture. I really like this kind of art, because I love mysterious and controversial works of art. Recently I have visited an exhibition „International Print Triennial”, it sited of modern prints showing problems of the people all over the world. I really like one of digital photos which is a work of Judyta Bernas from Poland. It shows a woman who is clasping her knees. You can not see her face which make the picture even more interesting. Her position is similar to a position which a human has in it’s embryonic period. I guess she probably has lots of troubles and she doesn’t want to think about them – and it is the reason for her position. Because the safest place for a human is their mother’s womb. She looks as she is trying to hide and separate her problems from the whole world. The conclusion is: the exhibition is really worth seeing, and modern art., in spite of being very difficult to understand, is interesting and thought-provoking.

Sergi Castignani is a Spanish artist, whose works of art we could see at the exhibition “International print triennial” in Cracow. I think the picture “Ariadna’s thread” is very interesting.

This is a picture plain and profound. The author goes back to ancient Greek religion. Ariadna was a young women who helped a hero. Tezeus overcame the monster owing to Ariadna’s thread. The large labyrinth of the picture is our life. It has a lot of winding ways and we – day by day – are going on our life’s winding ways. Every day, we are getting help from other people – from our family, friends. But sometimes, when we really need the help, the people are nor there for us. And then, they are our anvil. And we are very, very lonely. But these always is someone, who lends us a helping hand.

Colours in the picture are dark, gloomy. It is not optimistic. But in my opinion, in our life we should have hope. I think, the best will be words: “With all its shaml, drudgery and broken dreams,It is still a beautiful world”

This print has made a very big impression on me and from the first look it riveted my attention. It is painted with dark colors, so it associates with sadness, pain and suffering, In my feeling the picture shows us the world during the war, because we can see symbolic shapes like religious crosses or free strokes. These lines may show remnants after bombs which have destroyed many towns. While I look at this painting, it reminds me of horrifying war events which I have red in books about. It moves me a lot and makes me feel, that years ago people had to fight for our freedom. When we look at this work of art we can reflect that everything is poor, fleeting and short-lived. What we like so much, can be destroyed in a moment, by a stranger, who has no right to take anything, that belongs to us, something that we love. I believe it was created on purpose to prevent other mistakes like war, which killed so many people and made so many families unhappy.

I saw this print for the first time at the art exhibition in ‘Bunkier Sztuki’ and then it made a terrible impression on me. ‘Embarkation for Cythera’ is a work made with ground etching and engraving by Peter Milton, a very famous American graphic artist.

This work presents us a moment when some kind of zeppelin starts his travel to a mystic land, Cythera. It is full of anxiety and suspense, because of its grey hue. When I look at this creation I instinctively see an old- fashioned nineteenth century photograph of a European city in the evening. A lot of free space contrasts with a narrow, steep alley and creates a mood of irrationality in this composition. A careful observer can notice there a lot of important details, which show that this is a normal, ordinary situation – for instance people’s faces in a window or a couple in the doorway. A strong point of this work is multiplicity of explanations, different for every viewer.

In conclusion I will say that this creation is one of the most intriguing and absorbing that I have ever seen. I hope you are as enchanted by this print as I am.

In the picture there is a very slim woman. This picture looks just an x-ray photo. This woman is wearing average clothes. These clothes only partly are able to mask her bony figure. She looks sad, depressed, in her eyes lives emptiness, her soul is dead. In the picture, besides the girl, there is a nothink, absolute darkness.

Each time when I look at this woman I am afraid, because I know anorexis can concern each and every person. Millions of people in the world suffer from anorexis and we cannot see that or we do not want to see this problem. Every day I pass sick people on the street or in a shop and school and I am sad because I cannot help them.

This pictures is not only a great example of modern art but it is a consignment. The artist is teaching us humility, sympathy and sensibility.

Karoline was a little girl when it happened, but she remembers it all. She will never forget those times when everything was so beautiful and simple. Karoline was brought up by her grandmother and she was often playing next to her. Their family were not rich, but she was very happy. They were living in an old house in a small village.

That morning Karoline was sitting in the garden and her grandmother was sitting at the sewing machine. Suddenly she shouted:

‘Come on, Karoline! I sewed a dress for you.’The dress was beautiful. Karoline put it on quickly. In the pocket of the dress

she was carrying small pieces of paper – her child’s secrets. Her life was happy and peaceful. But the day come on, when everything changed.

It was like a nightmare for a little girl, didn’t understand what war was. Thousands of people died, but she had good luck.

Karoline saw nothing – she was lying under the bed, covered by her dress. She heard her grandma’s desperate cries. Karoline was too weak and small to do anything. She never saw her grandmother after that. The second world war took away the most important things from her. The time spent in the orphanage and hard experiences made her life sad and empty. When she grew up she decided to be an artist.

When the war finally ended in 1945 pepole came back to their activites. But first they built a new, better world. Many years later Karoline visited her old house. Under the rubbish she found many things – also her dress. There were still the pieces of paper in the pocket! The dress saved her life, but it also was a remembrance of her childhood. It reminded her about the wonderful time, when everything was so sacred and innocent...

Last Wednesday our class went to an Art Gallery near Planty, for we wanted to see the International Print "Triennial" exhibition. The form mistress, Mrs Warszynska, went into ecstasies over it and so did I. We saw a lot of really good prints there, but one of them was in particular interesting to me. The work of art entitled "Red stories, series: Lambs" was created byArpad Daradics. It presented a young girl wearing a white dress, so maybe she had just received the Holy Communion. I think that without the red, terrible sheep on the girl’s dress the picture would be quiteordinary. The girl was smiling, nevertheless it reminded me of an authentic story from my father’s life. When the second World War started, my father was a seven-year-old boy. He lived with his family near the labour camp in Płaszów. Everyday Jews and their children from this camp worked really hard building embankments. However, little Ann, who my father met, was shifting a switch - she could only do this kind of work. My dad used to give her some soup, which he received from the Germans, and sometimes some bread. They were friends until the moment when Ann and her parents had to go to Auschwitz - Birkenau concentration camp. Ann was like a lambled to the slaughter – she was scared and she did not understand the situation. How manychildren’s lives ended in this way? How many of them did not know the real meaning ofchildhood? Why so many..? Summarizing, I would like to say that I will never forget thisexhibition. Thank God that we live in the 21st century.

In the picture I can see: on the right-a red square, on the left an intersection of railway. The latter of the picture is greyish-green and gloomy. It is a big contrast between the two parts. This picture associates with the concetration camp-Birkenau. The red square is a symbol of pain, sheed blood. In Birkenau there are similar intersection tracks like in the picture. It resembles a big tragedy of millions of people, who uselessly and unfairly died. Brzezinka concentration camp was built in 1942. It was a section of KL Auschwitz, which was the biggest Nazi's concetration camp. Prisoners died of exhaustion, hunger, epidemics, mass executions. Birkenau was the biggest place of planned destruction of mainly Jewish population. They were murdered in gas chambers. The bodies were incinerated the special stores for burning people. At the gas chambers died to two millions Jews mainly from Poland, Hungarian and Greece. Today in old concentration camp there is museum visited every year six hundred thousand people from all over the world. There is also the International Monument of Fascim’s Victims. I think the picture commemorates the big tragedy ofmillions people, who died terrible death. I think the author the picture-Henriette Leinfellher-wants us all to remember about this big crime-holocaust. I am interesting it, so maybe that is why I noticed this picture and payed special attention to it.

Many people have very superficial views of the world. They do not see things which are the most important. In art we have to know how to look, because than we can see a hidden symbolic sense. The point of view depends on the place you sit. This thought represents Michel Cleempoel in a print "A history of watching IV". In the middle of the engraving a postcard is situated, with the painting "The Arnolfini Portrait" by Jan van Eyck. It shows the marriage ceremony. Portrait of Giovanni Arnolfini and his wife is one of the most famous and original paintings in the world. On the face of it is simple portrait, but if we look obsely, we will see that this work of art has a hidden sense which was invisible in the beginning. For instance, over the mirror we can see an inscription: "Johannes de eyck fuit hic", what means that "Johannes de Eyck was here". Probably the artist was one of the two people we can see in the mirror. This reflection creates the extraordinary effect. It is an absolute peach! Futhermore, on the mirror's frame there are ten miniature scenes from the Passion of Christ. Although in the picture there is a dog, which is symbolic of fidelity. The green of the woman's dress symbolises her hope that she is going to become a mother. In Michel Cleempoel's print, the turquoise background, around the postcard, there are many mirrors. It is the same mirror, which is in Jan van Eyck's painting! The print "A history of watching IV" shows us that people always uncover sense just when they see the symbol.

Virge Joekalda "Shivers III" "Shivers III". This picture includes some negative feelings. Virge Joekalda had created a mysterious work of art and I certainly was impressioned.

In the first place, I must admit that thorns shown in the picture remind me of the crown of thorns which Jesus Christ had been wearing on the cross.

Secondly, the print made me reflect on a sense of life. In addition, it pay attention to physical sufferings. What is more, I reckon that thorns shown in this picture are covered by blood, which may represent death and pain. In conclusion, I think that "Shivers III" includes an important message. Human life is short and I believe we should make it better by some good deeds. To sum op, the described picture informs us about the meaning of human pain.
