Krishna , Balarama and the cowherds

were playing a particular game in which

the defeated child must carry the winner

upto a banyan tree located off their playing

fields.Unknown to all but known only to Krishna,

one demon by name Pralamba, , joined

Krishnas side,which was playing against the

side of Balarama.

Like all other demons ,Pralamba too was

sent by Kamsa to Finish Krishna by

using his yogic powers in evil ways.

Krishna allowed himself to be defeatedmany times and carried Sridhama,while,Pralamba carried Balarama.As expected

he carried Pralamba too far and sensingdanger,Balarama

With his yogic powers increased the

weight of his body.Threatened,Pralambarevealed his true demonic form but was

easily defeated by Balarama

Forest Fire

Once a raging forest fire trapped the Cowherds

,and frightened

By its powerful explosions and heat,the

boys prayed to their friend

Krishna.

Krishna said, all of you close

the eyes for a moment !

And lo! When they openedtheir eyes the cowherds could not believe

What they saw !They found

themselves resting under a huge tree !!

Krishna Hides The Clothes Of The

Gopis(Maids)The gopis worshiped the goddess Durga,,the God Mother but their inner

desire was to get Lord Krsna as their

husband.When the gopis went to bathe in the

river Yamuna, they left their garments on the

land and dipped into the water completely

naked. Taking this opportunity, Krsna stole all

their garments and sat down in the top of a

tree with them,desiring to see the girls nakedjust to become their husband.

When the Gopis entreated him fervently,

Krishna commanded them to

Forget their physical self and the sense of modestyand to line up before him with pure mind.

As the girls obeyed innocently,he returned

the clothes to each and signalled that he will

meet them again on a full moon night.

The Gopis returened home imagining when their prarers

Will come true.

Once a set of brahmins rejected food to the

famished cowherds sent by Krishna,but

Krishna and the boys were worshipfully

treated with all types of delicacies

immediately by the wives of the brahmins

since these women knew Krishnas Divinity

Govardhan PoojaOnce Krishna ,The Lord Of the Lordswanted to Give a lesson to Indra,

the Proud,Lord of the Heavens.

So he changed the annual

offering to the hill called Govardhan.

Fuming,Indra caused heavy rain

for seven days and the total forest wasFlooded.Krishna Protected the

Village by lifting and using the

Entire Govardhan hill as an

umbrella for all the subjects.

Krishna, though of lower caste ,still had good social standing as his step

father Nanda was an influential chieftain of the cowherds.And as his stature

as absolute Lord of the universe became more and more apparent, the

girls of the community,as it is true even today, fantasized about him. The

fame that the super stars of today enjoy is nothing compared to that of the

Supreme Lord..

Gopis with their hearts captivated, yet ,

unperceived by one another in their attempts to

meet Him, hastened to the place where their

beloved Lord was, with their ear-rings rocking toand fro.

Truly, as it happens even today, many of the women were prohibited

and obstructed by their husbands, parents, brothers and other

relatives. But they were going as if in a trance. Their hearts had

been completely charmed by Govinda. They did not turn back to

their home.

Again, truly,as it happens even today ,some Gopis wereshut up by their relatives and friends. They could notmake their way out. They began meditating on Krishnawith their eyes shut. Their thoughts had been alreadydevoted to Krishna. They held Him fast in their minds.Their sins were burnt up by the intense fire ofunbearable separation from their most beloved Lord.

All the effects of lifes work were purified by the happyembraces of Achyuta enjoyed in their meditation. Theirbonds of action were totally severed at that verymoment. They gave up their bodies composed of the

Gunas, and attained the bliss with the Supreme Souleven though they thought of Krishna as their belovedand meditated on Him secretly as their paramour,.

On another occasion

an evil agent of Kamsa

by name Arishta,

appeared as a buffalo

and scared the cowherds

away.Krishna subdued

him and gave him Moksha

One day, while playinghide-and--seek.,theKrishna & friends werejoined by a demon,masquerading as a

cowherd boy.The demonnamed Vyoma, sent byKamsa, abducted all but afew cowherd boys andhid them ina mountaincave blocking its entrancewith a boulder.

Learning of this, Krishnaran after him, grabbedand killed him just as onewould kill a sacrificiallamb

Akrura Reaches Vrindavan

Kamsa,the evil uncle ofKrishna,fearing death at thehands of Krishna accordingto an Oracle,now changedtactics to EliminateKrishna.He sent Akrura, a

devout and highly respectedarmy chieftain of VrishniCommunity,he had theintuition about the AbsoluteDivinity of Krishna andworshipped him.

They stopped the cart,sobbing at the

separation of their heart throb Krishna.

Kamsa employed it at the gates of his palaceWhere Krishna and Balarama was about to

all his divine powers and plucked its tusks live

and instructed his friend Sudama, to use the

precious stones at the tip of the tusks as

Chanoora and Mushtika,

employed by Kamsa to fight

with Krishna and Balarama

a prolonged fight ,sending

well as to their parents,Krishna and

Balarama ,in shaved heads as per

traditions even today,took initiation

from Sandipani, a Rishi ofKslivingin

the city ofAvant.

They learnt the entire Vedas, its sixcorollaries and the Upanisads, Dhanur-

veda, with its most esoteric secrets; the

standard books of Manus laws; logic of

philosophical debate Nyaya &

Vaiseshika; and the sixfold science of

politics, & dharma sastras.They left Sandipani by offering

him guru-daksin (worshipful reward to

the Guru) by recovering the Gurus son

from the Yama-Loka,where souls Spend

time briefly after death

After Krishna haddefeated Kamsa, Uddhava,apious and loyal servant toKrishna as well as the mostintelligent, Chief of Yadus ofVrishni community, came to

see him. Krishna embracedhim,also requested Uddhavato visit Vrindavan with amessage on his behalf to hisParents , Gopis and otherresidents of the village, whowere missing his company.

house ,along

with Uddhava.

Kamsas Father in Law AngeredJarasandha became a famed and powerfulking, extending his empire far and wide.

He prevailed over many kings, and was

crowned emperor of Magadha(in what is

today mostly called Bengal & Bihar). Even

while Jarasandha's power continued to

grow, he had concerns over his future &that of the empires, as he had no heirs.

Therefore, on the advise of his close

friend king Banasura, Jarasandh decided

to get his two daughters 'Asti and Prapti'

married to the heir apparent

ofMathura, Kansa. Jarasandha had alsolent his army and his personal advise to

Kansa to create a coup d'etat inMathura,in

which Kamsa earlier dethroned his father

Kamsas Father in Law Angered

Death Of Kamsa (also spelt as Kans) at the hands ofKrishna made his father-in-law Jara Sandha, thevengeful King of Magadha. Jarasandha fought with 23

Akshouhini (An Akshauhini (Sanskrit word), was an ancient battle formation that consisted of 21,870 chariots(Sanskrit ratha); 21,870 elephants; 65,610 horse-mounted warriors and 109,350 infantry, as per the Mahabharata (Adi Parva 2.15-23). The ratio is 1 chariot : 1 elephant : 3 horse-mounted warriors : 5 infantry soldiers. It should be noted that in each of these

large number groups (65,610, etc.), the digits add up to 18. This setup is pre eserved in the game of chess ) andwas defeated again and again,sixteen times by Krishnawith his small troop, totalling the annihilation of 392

Akshouhinis.On the 18th attempt by Jarasandha,Krishnafled and settled in an Island Kingdom artificially made byhim and Known as Dwaraka,for the reason that Krishna

wanted a different end for Jarasandha.(very much as Descendantsof Krishna exist as Yadavas in India, the descendats of Jarasandha are today known aslodhas)
