Post-2015 and Sustainable Rural Development

August 30, 2013

In the last few years, the concept of rural sustainable development attracts many

academics, politicians, and community activist around the world to take part in it. This

engagement has stimulated a great deal of research and experimentation in this field

that varies widely in its content and practice. 60% of rural population in India lives in

primitive conditions. No electricity and other basic needs like Health, Education and

Sanitation. The Millennium Declaration and the Millennium Development Goals

(MDGs) have successfully focused World attention and action on ending extreme

poverty in all its forms and reducing gender inequality. The fifteen--‐year MDG period

will be completed at the end of 2015.

Based on given theme as mentioned above Krityanand UNESCO Club was organized its

Internship Program with support of the Students from XLRI, Jamshedpur from June

25th, 2013 to 30 August 2013 at the Village Sitarampur and Mirudhi of districts

Seraikela. During the program the Internees worked on both villages on Education,

Child Health and Sanitation program. The purpose of the program is best practices

from the Rural area for promoting (Inclusive growth and Poverty alleviation)

Sustainable Rural Development for Post-2015.

The project was aims to bring together academics and professionals to share their ideas

and recent findings on all aspects of sustainable rural development. The organization

will discuss relevant research topics in order to provide a broad vision on sustainable

rural development sector as a vital part of the rural economy, with emphasis on food

security, environmental conservation, resources and economics management, and

health.
