The Hindu Tamil Vasagar Thiruvizha
• As part of the first anniversary celebrations, The Hindu Tamil organized a uniqueevent called “Vasagar Thiruvizha”- a series of Readers Meet over 13 weeks acrossselect towns in Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry
• Each meeting was a conglomeration of writers/celebrities of the land inconversation with the readers of The Hindu Tamil
• The event was a unique platform to connect to about 5000 readers to obtain theirvaluable feedback on the newspaper as well as address their concerns

The following changes were implemented based on the feedback shared by the readers
at the event
• Launch of a new Product : A Sub brand ‘Vaniga Veethi‘ was launched. It carries
articles on personal finance, trade, commerce, stock exchange etc. This Sub brand
received very good reception from the readers.
• A series called ‘Mella Thamizhan Ini‘ was started. This covers the vices of drinking
alcohol and the effects of the same on society. The series got tremendous
reception from all walks of life. The series has now come out in a book format
• Ungal Kural (A forum for readers to share their views): A modern lady's
visual was used as the promotional material for 'Ungal Kural‘- a Reader complaint
column. A reader at Vasagar Thiruvizha commented that the readers are from all
walks of life and that the visual is not inclusive. The visual was immediately changed.

• Need for Local News Coverage: Local News coverage has been increased in all editions.
• Font size of the text was increased to suit the reading convenience of senior readers.
• Cauvery Dealta Belt area readers consist of mainly farmers had requested for a separate
column to cover the successful farming/agricultural methods & techniques . Accordingly, a
new column called ‘Nilamum Valamum' was launched. Subsequently, the column was
transformed into a separate Sub Brand after receiving tremendous response and
appreciation.
• Successful series which received good response from the readers have now been
converted to a book format. This is due to the opinion of the readers that they find it very
difficult to save the pages from the Daily.
