A class project in which we were to remake a car with gradient mesh within Illustrator. I decided to create the tron cycle instead of a car, since the Tron movie had just come out at the time. During this project I was able to learn the importance of time management, and how crucial it is to turn projects on time.

The goal of this contest was to design a coffee bag for Bow Truss Coffee Roasters. They are world-class roasters and coffee professionals making specialty coffee based out of Chicago, IL. In my design I reused their logo to create a stack of coffee cups to imply how great their coffee is. I wanted the colors have an earthy tone to them to tie in the coffee vibe of Bow Truss Coffee Roasters.

The main assignment for this project was to recreate a movie, novel, or state motto into a poster. Another goal of this project was to learn the process on how to create a silkscreen poster. When I chose the Hunger Games as a poster to recreate, I wanted to use different types of elements that were important but never used in an actual poster. All the components in this poster are represented in either the book or the movie. Such as the pile of berries, which are the nightlock berries that stirred on the spark of the rebellion; the electric fences, which every distinct is trapped by within these areas; and the skull, which represents the large amount of deaths caused by the capital.

Andes CandyThis was a class project in which we were to design or redesign a package of our choice. I chose the Andes candy package to redesign since I thought it was bland. The redesign of the packaging changed from a rectangle to a cube which can fit 51 candy pieces. The pack-aging material would be a plastic, and the grey areas of the design represent clear plastic. By choosing this design feature, the consumers can see the product. The design could be used as a slip cover or could be printed on the plastic material. The leaf pattern and the light shade of green were chosen to incorporate the candy’s flavor, mint. The fonts used are Futura and Mona Lisa Solid ITC TT.

For this project I created a typography poster for a typography contest for my graphic design 2 class. The requirements for this contest were to use two antonyms in two languages. The words I selected were translated from the countries of Sweden and the Netherlands. These words, noisy and quiet, were translated as Scheeuwend and Lugn. Scheeuwend is based off of a neon club sign to portray the clubs of the Netherlands, and Lugn was based off of the quiet serene lands of Sweden.

This was a class project in which we had three organizations to choose from to create a logo for. I chose the third option, which was my university’s worship section. The torch is the focal point of this logo; which is based off of the organiza-tion’s burning passion to worship. The font and the colors were based off of the university’s original design. I figured this was the best route to take in order to reuse these main features for the design.

This is a t-shirt design that I entered in to threadless.com. Threadless is a creative community that makes, supports, and buys great art. I have entered a couple of my designs in before, but this time I wanted to create a hipster. I thought it would be fun to use an animal instead of a person, so I used an owl for the design. Mismatched colors, a pair of glasses, a mustache, and a bowtie all define what a general hipster of today looks like. I thought the owl’s outfit wasn’t enough, so I placed a coffee mug and some classic books next to the owl to finish off the design.

BAAMThis was a project to find an organization or company to brand. My client, was a group of long-boarders who sold stickers to other long-boarders. The designs include a logo and a stationary set; letterhead, business card, and envelope. Their logo was based off of the first initials in each of the girl’s names in the group. The colors and font choice were formed from the group’s love for vintage styles.

Size Chart

AMRAP Size ChartsAMRAP is a company that sells clothing to hardcore gym buffs. Their leader expressed that he needed some simple illustrations and a chart for users to see, when they wanted to know what sizes the product came in. My job was to design line art illustrations and a chart for each of the products I was assigned. I created a size chart icon for the company as well. I had six illustrations in total along with the charts. Each illustration needed to be simple and clean as well as show two or three measurements of the product. These measurements were to be shown in red across the illustration. A women’s tank for example would show the bust, waist, hips, and length size. The font that was used in the charts was gotham. The chart included the sizes of the product and any of the measurement types of the product.
