Volume 4: Issue 2: November/December/January
KTB SERVES One of the pillars of our sisterhood is service, something
that is near and dear to our hearts. This year, KTB sisters
have gone above and beyond to put others before
themselves. From volunteering in the Habitat for
Humanity Pumpkin Patch, Project Linus Baby Drive, and
Catholic Charities
Day, countless
hours of service
benefited the
greater Bryan-
College Station
area. KTB put
others before
themselves, serving
in love, to help
make someone’s
holiday better.
KTB Weekend The Xi Class was officially initiated as actives on
November 11. On Saturday, we welcomed back former
members to BTHOolemiss and feast on Rudy’s BBQ
(yum!). The weekend brought us all closer together, past
and present, in sisterhood and spirituality. May we
continue to serve God after we graduate and go our own
ways.

Hello radiant ladies,
The future can
sometimes be a
terrifying place. We,
as women, sometimes
get caught up in the future so much and can forget
about the present. I know this was true for me
during my undergrad years at Texas A&M. I often
caught myself dreaming of programs for post-
graduate training while I was in undergrad classes.
We can get so fixated on the future that we fail to
embrace the current season of our life. It is in these
daily happenings that we come to discern where
God desires us to serve Him. For me, I found God’s
calling for my life by living out my vocation as a
student. I would try to offer up each of my study
sessions as a prayer for my future vocation. Each
study session I would light a candle as a constant
reminder of my vocational prayer. Due to the large
amount of study time my major required, I often had
ample amount of time to pray for my future
vocation. I am sure y’all can relate. Through my
discernment God lead me toward a career in the
medical field. I am currently a pharmacy student at
The University of Texas at Austin. I would have
never dreamed that God would place me in burnt
orange but I am completely at peace with where He
lead me. My prayer for each of you is to embrace
the current season of your life. Laugh, cry, and be
present in the moment. Do not let fear of the future
paralyze you in the present.
You are all beautiful and I love each of you. If there
is anything I can do for any of you, please do not
hesitate to let me know. I will see each of you in the
Eucharist.

This past summer I had
the opportunity to
Study Abroad in
Alicante, Spain. For
my major it is required
for us to go outside of
the US and work,
study, or volunteer, but
the cost of Studying
Abroad can be very high and it was something that
worried me but did not discourage me from going. I
knew that God would provide me with whatever I
needed and that it was going to be fine, I would
figure it out. I ended up applying for all the
scholarships that I could apply for and thanks to
God my entire trip was paid for. My experience
abroad was absolutely amazing. The first week
abroad was tough because of jet lag and trying to
figure things out, but once I was situated I felt right
at home. I lived in Alicante and went to school at the
Universitat d' Alicant. On our past time, we would
go to the beach, hike to the castle and travel around
Europe since it was so cheap. I got to visit some of
the world’s best museums and places like the
Vatican, Rome, Switzerland, Morocco, The United
Kingdom and many other places. I got to see one of
my favorite painters, Salvador Dali,
Picasso portraits, and was able to celebrate Real
Madrid's win in the streets of Madrid. Studying
abroad has completely changed my views on
everything. Like how to approach difficult
situations, my confidence, thinking bigger, and more
importantly it has reinforced what we as humans
share which is our humanity. I traveled by myself to
many countries that I did not know the language and
it was difficult and scary at the same time but
because of this experience I believe more in myself
and my capabilities. During my stay I met some of
the most incredible people and got to hear some of
their stories. Connecting with all these different
people increased my empathy for them, it showed
me that we share one common thing which is our
humanity. I would encourage you all to think about
studying abroad if you all have a chance. It is a life
changing experience and you get to see what is truly
out there. The beauty of God’s creation is
indescribable and captivating, try to get out of your
comfort zone and see what life really has to offer.
Lake Bryan Social
KTB took a weekend off and traveled to Lake Bryan
for a much needed break from school. There were
fun games, cute photo ops, and a beautiful sunset. It
was a perfect way to spend time together, introduce
friends to our sisters, and enjoy God’s creations,

Living the Faith: Christmas and
Epiphany
0It’s that time of year where we get out, start
shopping for presents, and getting ready to eat all of
those wonderful Christmas cookies. Christmas is a
wonderful time to reflect on the year and our many
blessings, specifically the blessing of the birth of
Jesus Christ. Advent is a time of preparation to
receive Jesus in our hearts and lives. As the
celebrations continue past December 25 and into the
New Year, celebrating Solemnity of Mary as well,
we move on to Epiphany.
What exactly is Epiphany? A priest from my home
parish (kudos Fr. Joaquin!!) explained it as this: An
epiphany is a revelation or something being finally
made clear. There are three parts to Epiphany, the
first being the obvious Three Wise Men. They knew
from studying stars and prophecy that the star
signified a king to be born. They had the courage
and followed the star, a bright star that could be
easily seen by anyone around the world. Reaching
the baby Jesus, it was clear that this child, born in
humble dwellings, was the Savior and King of all.
After Epiphany Sunday, we will hear the Gospel
where Jesus is baptized. The final part of Epiphany
is the Wedding at Cana, where Jesus turns the water
into wine. This miracle is the first public
manifestation of Christ and was the beginning of the
many Jesus would perform throughout his life.
These events are joined together to signify that Jesus
is for all and we need to continue spreading his
message and his love. God sent His Son to save the
world through love and that should never be
forgotten when the decorations and presents come
around. Love others as God and Jesus loves us. He
was born in a manger with the poorest of the poor
and foreigners being the first to welcome him into
the world. A savior for all. And that, my sisters, is
what Christmas is all about.
Love.
Upcoming Events:
SPRING RETREAT
February 10-12
Time to bust out those sleeping bags once again!
Most would say that Spring Retreat is their favorite
time of the year. It truly is a beautiful weekend
where you can grow in your faith with your sisters
without the distractions of the world.
Father-Daughter Baseball
February 18
My dad when I first mentioned it: Wait. I actually
have to play baseball?
Not that kind of a baseball game but this is way
better. Bring your dad, brother, grandpa, uncle, or
anyone who loves baseball (yes Mom can come
too!) and we’ll have a tailgate and watch our Aggies
take on the Bowling Green Falcons!
