Welcome to the Kubota Tractor Corporation Product Knowledge Tutorial
The most critical responsibility you have as an inspector performing a floorplan audit is to provide an accurate account of the inventory that is in stock at the dealership.
To accomplish this, you need to
Know what is on your audit
Familiarize yourself with the equipment you have to identify
Conduct a thorough check of the yard and all areas of the dealership
This tutorial will provide you with tools and information to help you achieve this.2
USED – Various Brands:
ZD25F-60 06 KUB 0 TURN MWR
873G 02 BOBCAT SKID LDR
5030-DU5 98 NH TRACTOR/LDR
NEW and USED ProductsNEW and USED Products
NEW – Kubota:
M125XDTC 4WD CAB TRACTOR
LA854 FRONT LDR
RCK54P23BX 54" SIDE DISCHARGE MULCHI
Kubota inventories can include both new and used products.
The equipment descriptions shown here are examples of new products, which of course would always be Kubota brand equipment.
Descriptions for used inventory will include the brand name, either in full or abbreviated, as shown in these examples.
Notice also that the descriptions always begin with the model number – this makes it easy to search the audit for a specific model number if needed.

Use the Advanced Filter to determine if you have USED products on your audit so you know if you have brands other than Kubota to look for during your walk of the lot.
Simply set your filter to “Type = USED”, as displayed here, and review the results.

Helpful Hint for Coordinated AuditsHelpful Hint for Coordinated Audits
Avoid missing units on your lot!
After walking the lot, double-check your results by reviewing any incomplete units that were previously found at your location.
The challenge with coordinated audits is that the audit list contains all units for alllocations, so it’s harder for you to tell if you’ve found everything for your branch location. But there is a way to minimize the possibility of missing inventory at your site.
After walking the lot, you can review any incomplete units that were found at your site during the last audit. To do this, simply set the advanced filter to Previous Location Found and select your branch location from the drop-down list.
The units identified by this filter are pieces that you might have missed during your initial walk of the dealership, so you can either go back to the yard to look for them or show the list to the branch manager to see if they can confirm whether those units are in fact on their yard. If you take the time to do this before finishing and syncing the audit, you will be less likely to miss equipment at your location, and less likely to be asked to make a return trip to the dealership.

Verifying Kubota EquipmentVerifying Kubota Equipment
You will find a manufacturer’s plate showing the model and serial number. In this video, we will show you the typical placement of the Kubota serial number plates.
In most cases, the products will also have a bar code tag which you will be able to scan with your PDA. You’ll notice that both the model and s/n are bar coded, so be sure to scan the correct one. We will also show you these tag locations, but the locations for the bar code tags do sometimes vary. You’ll find, however, that in general they are pretty easy to find.
Remember to adjust the # of characters for your Auto-Search to “5” and the Scan Start Position to “3” before you begin your walk of the lot.

These tractors can be identified using the actual s/n plate and bar code tag. Even though you are able to use the manufacturer’s tags on the unit, they must still be marked as “crated” on the audit because they are physically still in the crate andunassembled.
46

Hanging TagsHanging Tags
Hanging tags are NOT valid for verification
When you see shipping tags that simply hang on the crate frame (attached by a wire) do NOT use these tags to identify the product. They can be easily transferred from one crate to another, so look for the actual s/n plate on the unit instead.
