Introduction

The human body, despite the fact that we use it every day of ourlives from birth to death, is still the center of many profound mysteries. The mysteries of the heart and mind (which seem todefy the ability of science to dissect and understand) are evengreater. By comparison, the mysteries of the Spirit are beyondthe reaches of our imagination. For this reason, we begin our spir-itual work with the study and practices that use the human bodyas a tool. Through our personal research, we will find many spiri-tual secrets are hidden in the workings of our physical and tangi-ble experience.

We could write an entire book for each chapter we have writtenhere. However, we wish to concentrate on the practical aspects ofeach of the techniques we will be showing you. Thus, we will summarize a great deal of information in but a few lines. Thereare also a few technical words that you may want to understandbefore you start learning about this mystical art. These words areessential to your understanding of the rest of the book, and wewill repeat their names often to make their assimilation easier. These new terms are in bold below, followed by an explanation oftheir meaning and use.

Meridians: There are many circuits of energy in the human body. Most of them start or end at an extremity such as the fingers ortoes. The Chinese refer to these energy circuits as Meridians. BothQi-Gong and Kuji-In employ certain tools to stimulate and direct

- 8 -

Page 9: Kuji in Complete 33

the energy emanating from these energy circuits in order to healyour body on the energetic and physical levels and to help youmanifest your desires. The techniques you will use to work withenergy include: breathing exercises, visualizations (called mandalas), chants/prayers (called mantras) and hand positions(called mudras). Qi-Gong and Kuji-In use these mandalas, mantras and mudras, along with specific exercises, to help youconnect with your Higher Self. This book also provides the conceptual context that will make it possible for you to successful-ly use these techniques.

Mudra: A “mudra” is a hand gesture or a hand position that isemployed to bring into effect the flow of energies that terminateor start at the fingertips.

Mantra: The energy of the body can also be stimulated throughsound. A “mantra” is a sound, which can take the form of eithera short word or a more complex prayer. A mantra will stimulatespecific energy patterns within and around you.

Mandala: Above all, the symbols and imageries in your mindaffect the flow and the manifestations of the energies you use. A“mandala” is a symbol or image that is visualized in order toengage the mind in active participation with an energy work or aspiritual process.

Mudra, mantra and mandala: these are three simple tools that canenhance your entire spiritual experience. These tools affect theenergies in your physical and spiritual body. When combined, theycan greatly enhance your personal development. They can

- 9 -

Page 10: Kuji in Complete 33

produce any kind of effect, from accelerating the healing of thebody to aiding you in developing psychic abilities. These tools area part of a sacred knowledge called Qi-Gong, which means“working with energy” or “energy practice”.

There is another art called “Kuji-In” that redefines your vision ofthe world around you. Practicing its techniques will slowly revealto you a vision of the universe that you could not have anticipated before you began, because it allows your limitedhuman mind to expand its vision, to perceive the Source of All.This spiritual method will surely help you progress on your pathto the realization of your full potential. Here follows a Buddhistcontemplation that I hope will inspire you about the state of mindthat the Kuji-In intends to develop in each practitioner.

Buddha said: “I consider the positions of Kings and Rulersas that of dust motes. I observe treasures of gold and gemsas so many bricks and pebbles. I look upon the finest silkenrobes as tattered rags. I see myriad worlds of the universe assmall seeds of fruit, and the greatest lake in India as a dropof oil on my foot. I perceive the teachings of the world tobe the illusion of magicians. I discern the highest concep-tion of emancipation as a golden brocade in a dream, and Iview the holy path of the illuminated ones as flowersappearing in one’s eyes. I see meditation as a pillar of amountain, Nirvana as a nightmare of daytime. I look uponthe judgment of right and wrong as the serpentine Dance ofa dragon, and the rise and fall of beliefs as but traces left bythe four seasons.”

Above all, let the knowledge of this book be assimilated throughexperience rather than isolated intellectual analysis. Take the timeto contemplate the feeling each technique evokes for you. Pay

Page 11: Kuji in Complete 33

attention to your body, your heart and your mind. Eventually, youwill become aware of your Spirit. All of the technical words willbe surrounded by practical instructions, and this will help yourmind make the necessary links. Trust yourself and have a goodlearning experience.

Summarized Theory

The Buddhist, Taoist and Hindu teachings contain the fundamen-tal wisdom that can be found behind most Oriental practices. Allthe teachings of the mantra’s sounds, the mudras gestures and themandala’s symbols come from these sources, as well as from themany applications of meditation those teachings utilize. Chinesemedicine is also a very important source of knowledge for Qi-Gong practitioners.

The martial arts that were developed by the Shao-Lin monks usea mystical secret science to control the energy in the body. Thisprofound science is called Qi-Gong. Qi is energy in its manifestedform, and Gong is the practical method of application. Therefore,Qi-Gong methods are the means or techniques of controlling theflow of energy inside your body. After a while, with a lot of prac-tice, you can also experiment with the manifestation of Qi outsideyour body.

The most popular form of Qi-Gong in North America andEurope is Tai Qi Chuan. The art of Qi-Gong existed long beforethe martial artists incorporated it in their fighting styles. Therefore, there are a lot of Qi-Gong practices that are very easy on the body. These practices are not linked with any specific fighting techniques, and it is not necessary to learn to fight to learn thesetechniques.

- 12 -

Page 13: Kuji in Complete 33

Like many esoteric philosophies, the Buddhists teach that, in orderto attain spiritual illumination, one must undertake the necessaryexercises with a sincere heart. The secrets of healing, the abilityto see beyond ordinary reality, the gift of communication frommind to mind, these are all aspects of the Buddhist’s magical sys-tem. Like every group of Alchemists, they also seek to expandtheir lifespan beyond the normal period. Yet none of these abilities will manifest for you unless you begin with the proper attitude.

The Qi-Gong techniques shown in the first lessons are the basicmethods which will enhance your ability to experience spiritualenergies. After you have achieved the ability to sense energy, wewill concentrate on the practical aspects of the oriental esotericscience of Kuji-In. We encourage you to learn more aboutChinese Medicine and the channels of energy in the body. It is alsovery important for you to choose a meditation technique and tomeditate frequently if you want to benefit from the enormouspotential of the methods explained in this manual. For beginners,a simple meditation technique is provided in this book. As youlearn more and as you diligently practice what you have learned, your experiences with Qi-Gong and Kuji-In will improve.

Oriental Energy Systems: Jin, Qi, Shen

In the last section we explained that energy takes shape in a broadrange of manifestations: light, movement, electricity, life... Thuswe find that energy will manifest in your body in many ways. Wehave classified them here as three types of energy: Jin, Qi andShen. These are the energies that flow in the physical body accord-ing to Traditional Chinese Medicine. They take other names inoccidental occult philosophy, and we will speak about these otherterminologies elsewhere.

Jin

The energy that directly influences the physical plane is called Jin.It is the power that is converted into physical movement; it is heatenergy, and it is the force behind every action. Jin can be convert-ed from Qi, which is a more subtle energy. Many methods for con-verting Qi into Jin involve compressing Qi until it is dense enoughto become available on the physical plane, where it can manifest.Jin can produce heat, it can create more intense electric currents inour nervous system, it can heal our body more quickly than Qialone and it can augment physical strength. Jin is energy acting ongross matter. It usually flows through the lower abdomen.

You will develop the Jin level of energy through the use ofbreathing exercises and Qi-Gong practices. Jin will be used inmany of the physical practices you will be learning in the next several sections. Jin assists us in developing willpower and self-confidence. Willpower and self confidence help the Jin tomanifest physically.

Page 15: Kuji in Complete 33

Qi

Qi is energy in its ethereal form. It is our life force. It is bioelec-tricity. It is naturally used by the body for all of our life functionsand it is used by the brain to operate. Qi can move from one placeto another before it is converted to the active form of Jin or to theelevated form of energy known as Shen. We wish to develop andaccumulate Qi because it is easy to use and because it offers us thewidest range of applications. Breathing techniques enhance the movement of Qi in the body, as well as our ability to make effective use of mental imagery.

The more freely Qi can move in and around your body, the health-ier you will be, and the more clearly you will be able to think.Qi can be stored inside the body battery for later use (more on thisin other chapters). Qi can move through the body and, with experience, outside the body. It can be transferred to someone elsefor healing purposes, or for the exchange of Qi to another person.Great Chinese doctors use it in all sorts of medical techniques.Martial artists use it to augment their power and speed. It is alsospelled Chi in the case of Chi -Gong, or Ki. The Chinese andJapanese characters are not alphabetical; they are pictograms, sotheir spelling in English varies.

- 15 -

Page 16: Kuji in Complete 33

Shen

Shen is the spiritual aspect of energy. It is more volatile and hard-er to feel. It is always present, but the average person won’t evenknow it is there. It is the energy used in internal spiritual methodslike prayer and meditation. As we develop Shen, we also developour Spirit and elevate our consciousness. Little information aboutShen is available to the average person. In fact, a practitioner onlybecomes aware of its existence after extended training.

Chakras

We will be very brief regarding the definition of the “Chakras”.The topic of Chakras is a subject too vast to cover in detail in thisbook, but we will give you the basic information needed to use thedifferent techniques shown here.

The Chakras are the main energy centers found in the physicalbody. Each Chakra has specific primary functions you will need toknow. These will be described along with the techniques that acti-vate those functions. There are seven major Chakras.

1- Base Chakra: Located at the base of the spine; extends from thebase of the pelvis at the front of your body, to the coccyx at theback of your body. The base Chakra thus covers the entire base ofyour body.

2- Navel Chakra: Located about one inch below your navel.

3- Solar Plexus Chakra: Located at the solar plexus, right underyour sternum.

4- Heart Chakra: Located directly in the middle of the sternum, infront of your heart.

5- Throat Chakra: Located in the little indentation of bones at thebase of your throat.

- 17 -

Page 18: Kuji in Complete 33

6- Third Eye Chakra: Located between your eyebrows.

7- Crown Chakra: found at the top of your head, with the centerpoint exactly on top of your head, but spreading down to sur-round part of your head, around the forehead and the back of theskull.

Another important Chakra is called the “Jade Gate”, and it isfound at the back of the head, on the pointy bone at the back ofthe skull.

Behind the Navel Chakra, in the middle of the body, inside thelower abdomen, is a place which is called the “Dan-tian” inChinese Medicine; we will refer to it in our practices. It is in theDan-tian where the energy of the body is gathered and stored forlater use.

It is not necessary to remember all these Chakras right now. Wewill give you the information you need about the Chakras through-out the book.

Techniques

As you start training, we encourage you to eat well and exercisesregularly to keep your body in good health. Some of the techniques you will be learning are more demanding than others.Respect your limits, while always trying to go beyond them safely.Since some of these techniques might raise your body temperatureaggressively, we encourage you to drink a lot of water.

It is good to experiment with all of the techniques at least once, until you discover which ones you prefer. Once you decide whatworks best for you, feel free to spend more time on the practicesyou prefer. Follow you heart and do not doubt yourself. Youshould use at least one physical practice, one heart practice, onepractice for the mind and one for the Spirit. The first subtle resultswill come quickly, then a longer period of time might pass beforeyou see any tangible results. During this plateau period, your bodywill be accumulating and increasing your energy level. Do notbegin your training by focusing on the end-results you may even-tually attain; instead, enjoy the immediate benefits that these exer-cises provide. Before all else, seek Love. The power associatedwith these practices will come by itself. If you seek power, it willtake much more time for the effects to manifest, and they will notbe as impressive.

The Physical Body

Breathing

Normal and Reversed Breathing

Normal Breathing:

Normal Breathing is very different from the automatic breathingcycle that keeps you alive when you are not thinking about breath-ing. The reason is simple: no one really breathes correctly withoutthinking about it. Most people take in only 11 ml of oxygen perminute, far below the minimum oxygen your body needs to behealthy. A Normal Breath is a healthy breath.

An inhalation should fill your lungs almost completely withoutstraining your abdomen or diaphragm. The breath should natural-ly fill your abdomen, without raising your upper torso. A deepbreath should not even make your upper ribs move. Place yourhand over your heart, where your ribs connect to your sternum, between your solar plexus and your throat. Take a deep breath andfeel to see if your ribs are moving. If they do, you are filling yourupper lungs too much, and not enough air is getting to the bottomof your lungs. Although it is impossible to keep your rib cagetotally immobile (which is not the objective) it should move as lit-tle as possible without requiring too much effort.

When you exhale, let your abdomen rest until the air doesn’t comeout naturally anymore, and then pull your abdomen in slightlywithout force. It won’t completely empty your lungs. If your ribs

- 21 -

Page 22: Kuji in Complete 33

are moving inward or downward too much, it means you had tolift them upward when you inhaled, or that you filled the upperpart of your lungs too much.

When you breathe normally, it is your abdomen that pushes outslightly and pulls in slightly, (as you inhale and exhale). The breath-ing cycle should not require excessive force, but it should fill yourlungs up to 80% of your maximum capacity. To fill your lungs to100% of their capacity requires effort, and it is not natural.Breathing out with force and pulling in your abdomen slightly atthe end of the breath empties your lungs to 10% or 20% of theircapacity. Just as it is not healthy to fill your lungs to 100%, it is nothealthy to empty them completely; to empty your lungs totallyrequires the application of more force than to bring them to a natural state.

- 22 -

Page 23: Kuji in Complete 33

To learn this for yourself, try filling your lungs completely (with-out hurting yourself), while keeping your rib cage as immobile aspossible. Then, hold the air in for 10 seconds and breathe outcompletely, holding your breath out for 10 seconds. Let all yourmuscles relax and allow your body to breathe without influencingit, while you think about the difference between these two ways ofbreathing. Now, take in a Normal Breath, filling your lungs downto your abdomen with only a slight effort. Hold the air in for 3 seconds, and then let it out without any other effort than a slightpulling inward of your abdomen at the end of exhalation.

This is what is meant by a “Normal Breath”. Normal Breathingwill be used in all of the techniques that focus on the elevation ofself, such as meditation, mental and spiritual training. TheReversed Breath is used in physical development, to open thechannels of energy in your body and to enhance your ability tomanifest your Qi on the physical plane.

Reversed Breathing

To clearly understand the principles of Reversed Breathing, youmust first practice accurate Normal Breathing. It is important tokeep your rib cage almost motionless while doing the ReversedBreathing. You should also understand the principles of Jin, Qiand Shen in order for this practice to be effective.

The Reversed Breathing cycle is used to concentrate or compressyour Qi in a way that will make it denser, compressing it, so it canbecome available on the physical plane. It is used to produce Jin

- 23 -

Page 24: Kuji in Complete 33

from your Qi. When you compact the Qi, you will feel heat. Thisis the Jin.

To clarify this for you, forget about the Normal Breathing methodfor a moment and let yourself breathe instinctively. Imagine yourself in a situation where you are very alert, perhaps needing todefend yourself, thus requiring that you are ready for immediateaction. While closing your fists, take in a quick, deep breath without thinking. Most people will notice that the abdomen automatically pulls in when you are breathing in, and it pushes outslightly when you exhale. Experiment a bit with this breathing.

When in Danger, the body automatically does a Reversed Breath, getting ready to pour energy into physical action. The quick breathmentioned above was only meant as an example. For the ReversedBreath method, the breath should be drawn in as smoothly as theNormal Breath unless stated otherwise.

When we are working with methods that focus on manifestingphysical phenomena, we will be doing Reversed Breathing. Theupper rib cage still doesn’t move, and you should still breatheslowly and comfortably. As you breathe in, contract yourabdomen, pulling it in slightly. As you breathe out, release yourabdominal muscles completely, pushing out slightly at the end ofthe exhalation, without force.

- 25 -

Radial Qi Gathering method

Before you do anything that utilizes Qi, you must have Qi reservesto work with. Working without reserves of Qi will deplete yourown life force, which should be avoided at all cost. Gathering Qiis quite simple, and you can do it just about anywhere and anytimeas long as you aren’t doing something that requires concentration. For example, don’t do this when you’re in a moving car. When yougather Qi, you and everyone around you will get a little bit moreprone to lose their concentration. For example, everyone could getsleepy, or hyper, or feel strange sensations in their body, especial-ly if they are not used to feeling Qi. Moreover, you will need to beable to use your concentration for the visualizations that are necessary to successfully gather, store, and move Qi. The energythat you envision is real and it will follow your concentration. Asyou visualize it traveling with your breath down to the area belowyour navel, the Qi will be moved to your Dan-tian. When you visualize compressing it in your Dan-tian, this too will actuallyoccur. You may use the pictures as a guide, and you will find it useful to think of the energy you are moving as a white cloudwhich flows like a stream wherever you direct it with your mind.

- 26 -

Page 27: Kuji in Complete 33

Storing Qi in your Dan-tian

Place you palms on your Dan-tian, whichis just below your navel (fig. 1). Menshould have their left palm inside, touch-ing their Dan-tian, with their right palmover their left. Women should have theirright palm inside, with their left palm overtheir right. If you are standing, bend yourknees slightly. If you are sitting, try tokeep your spine straight, and do not crossyour legs.

As you inhale, visualize white light coming from all around you, penetratingall the pores of your skin, flowing intoyour body and filling your inner Dan-tian.Remember that what you visualize is actually occurring. As youexhale, all of this white energy is condensed into a concentratedball of light in your inner Dan-tian, in the middle of your body just below the level of your navel. Gather Qi by breathingnormally, deeply, and calmly. Take in Qi from all around you andconcentrate it in your inner Dan-tian.

- 27 -

Fig.1

Page 28: Kuji in Complete 33

Active Gathering

Stand up, take a few Normal Breaths and relax. Slightly bend yourknees and begin.

As you breathe in, imagine a white light coming from above you, which enters through the top of your head rather like a whitewind, descending in a continuous flow to your Dan-tian. Pleaserefer to fig. 2 below. You may use this figure as guide for yourvisualizations. As you breathe out, the energy remains in yourlower abdomen and becomes a ball of light. Take nine relaxedbreaths, absorbing Qi (the white light) from the area above yourhead. You may find that you tighten the muscles of your abdomenand arms when you try this for the first time. That is a normalreflex. Practice using just your will to draw the energy down, whilekeeping your muscles relaxed.

- 28 -

Fig.2

Page 29: Kuji in Complete 33

In the next exercise, you will draw energy into both hands, throughthe trunk of your body, and down into the Dan tian. You willinhale, and draw energy in through both hands simultaneously. Todo this, extend your arms out to your sides, with your palms fac-ing away from you; absorb the energy through the middle of yourpalms, drawing the energy through your arms, the trunk of yourbody, and down into your Dan-tian. Repeat this sequence, (inhaleand draw the energy down to the Dan-tian) nine times. Relax yourbody and make this entire process as effortless as possible.

Next you will repeat this process with both of your feet, drawingthe wind-like energy up into the soles of your feet, and up

- 29 -

Fig.3

Page 30: Kuji in Complete 33

through your legs, directing the flow to your Dan-tian. When youhave the energy centered in your Dan-tian, visualize the whiteenergy ball growing stronger and stronger with each of the ninebreaths.

Once you’ve taken nine breaths, while drawing the energy intoyour Dan-tian through each of the 5 centers, (filling yourabdomen from the area above your head, and from both of yourhands and feet), you will proceed to draw energy through all 5centers at the same time, using all five entry points simultaneous-ly, and filling your Dan-tian with nine breaths of energy. (fig. 3)

Finish this exercise by placing your palms over your Dan-tian andtaking a few Normal Breaths. This will help to store the energyyou have gathered.

- 30 -

Page 31: Kuji in Complete 33

Feeling the Flow of Qi

While your body is taking in oxygen and circulating it, it is also naturally circulating bioelectric energy. This energy is used to manage bodily functions and to sustain life. The calmer and moresmoothly this energy flows, the healthier we are and the more clearly we think. Our emotions are influenced by this bioelectricenergy flow as well as by our hormones.

In the same way that we have learned to draw energy into theDan-tian by concentrating on our breathing and visualizing the bioelectric energy as it follows our breath into our Solar Plexus, wecan also concentrate on our breathing and direct the bioelectricityin other ways. For example, we can make this energy flow throughour body simply by desiring it to do so. When we wish to lift anarm, we don’t need to know how the blood flows in the veins andhow the neural energy stimulates the ADP of the muscle fibers tomake them contract… all we need to do is “will it” and the armlifts. A baby can lift its arm as well as a scientist. It only has to desireto do so.

In order to cause this to occur according to your desires, you simply need to imagine where the energy is and where you want itto go, and the Qi will behave accordingly, following the motion ofyour mental image. With time and practice, you will be able to feelthis movement of Qi as if it was a wind flowing through your body. Some people describe this as a feeling that water is flowing fromthe source of the Qi to wherever they direct it. The traditionalname for the art of causing this energy to flow in accordance withyour desires is Qi-Gong, meaning “the practice of Qi.”

- 31 -

Page 32: Kuji in Complete 33

Breathing will enhance the movement of Qi. Visualization alonewill also cause Qi to flow, but not enough to make your practicetruly efficient. In order for this practice to be truly effective, youmust breathe properly, mentally visualizing the flow, then you mustdesire that the bioelectric energy move to the specified location. This is similar to wanting to move your arm; you desire it and itoccurs, even though the rest of your body remains motionless. Itis an isolated action, affecting only that part of you that you desireto move. Breathing normally is essential to the development ofyour energy channels and to the use of Qi in its many applications. When you breathe in, you are drawing energy into you, and whenyou breathe out, that energy will flow to wherever you direct it.Clear visualizations, proper breathing and the proper use of desireare crucial to effective movement of the Qi.

It is important that you follow the basic training process outlinedhere so you can correctly train your mind to visualize the goodenergy moving according to your desires. We strongly recommendthat you never imagine any chaotic or disordered energy movingthrough your body, because it might disturb your regular bodilyfunctions.

A step by step approach is necessary to develop your mental ability to control Qi in your body. As you acquire the necessaryknowledge and experience in the art of directing this energy flow, you will be able to feel the effect of your training and understandthe different applications of Qi-Gong more quickly and morecompletely.

Page 33: Kuji in Complete 33

Technique for Learning to Sense Qi:

Once you’ve practiced the Gathering Qi method, your body has alittle more Qi than it normally does, and this makes it easier foryou to feel the Qi. Never do any Qi exercises without filling your-self up with Qi beforehand, otherwise you could use up your basiclife-force or Bioelectric reserves and this can lead to undesirableside-effects, such as fatigue or illness.

Take a few natural breaths. Put your right palm over your left armwithout touching it, maintaining at least a distance of one inch. You will now use the Reversed Breathing technique. As youbreathe in and contract your abdomen a bit, fill your right handwith Qi by imagining that your hand is filled with whitelight/wind. As you breathe out, let your abdomen relax, visualizethe Qi emanating from your right hand to the surface of your leftarm. Use your will/desire as well as your imagination to achievethis effect. Move your right hand over the skin surface as youbegin to notice a light sensation emanating directly from your righthand.

Qi can trigger sensations of heat, cold, a windy sensation, a tick-ling, or nothing at all when you are first trying this. After taking afew breaths, and using your palm to emanate the Qi, try toemanate Qi by pointing with your fingers. To do this, keep yourright arm straight and point the fingers of your left hand at yourright arm, moving your left hand over the fingers of your rightarm and up to the elbow, then very slowly back and forth whileyou continue Reversed Breathing and the visualization. Eventually, you will feel the Qi flowing.

Qi-Gong

Small and Grand Circulation

The following is a limited summary of the Small and GrandCirculation. There is an enormous amount of knowledge availableon this subject, and we recommend that you learn more about itafter you learn these basic practices.

There are two main passageways of Qi, one of which run downthe middle of the front of your body and the other up the middleof your back. The channel in front is called the “ConceptionVessel”, and the one in the back, along the spine, is called the“Governing Vessel”.

Small Circulation

We will use the Reversed Breath for this technique, as you visual-ize white light flowing through your vessels. Figure 4 will help youunderstand the trajectory for this visualization. Using the reversebreathing, you will inhale once while you perform steps #1 to #4,and then exhale at step 5.

Take a few Normal Breaths and relax.

- 34 -

Page 35: Kuji in Complete 33

Begin your inhalation, and visualizewhite Qi emanating from your innerDan-tian. As you contract yourabdomen, visualize the Qi movingdown into your Conception Vessel(#1). The Qi keeps flowing gentlydown and under your groin as youcontract your sexual organs and yourperineum (#2). The Qi flows back intothe coccyx and up as you contract thecheeks of your buttocks. (#3) Nextyou complete the inhalation as the Qimoves into your spine at the level ofyour inner Dan-tian (#4). As youbreathe out, letting go of yourabdomen, the Qi moves back in yourinner Dan-tian (#5).

Start with a few consecutive small circulations and try to feel theQi flowing. It is recommended that you do nine complete loops at a time, and then relax. Perform these exercises slowly and comfortably.

Grand Circulation

Using figure 5 as your visualizationguide, complete one inhalation whileyou perform steps #1 to #5. Exhalenaturally, without visualization.

Take a few Normal Breaths and relax.

As you begin your inhalation, contractyour abdomen, and visualize white Qiemanating from your inner Dan-tianand moving down into yourConception Vessel at (#1). The Qi keeps flowing gently down andunder your body as you contract your sexual organs and your perineum (#2). The Qi flows back into the coccyx and up yourback, as you contract the cheeks of your buttocks (#3). Keepingyour abdomen, perineum, and buttocks contracted, visualize theQi flowing up your back to the top of your head at (#4). Finishyour inhalation as the Qi starts moving back down your foreheadand nose (#5). As you breathe out, let go of all contractions, and the Qi will naturally move back down the front of your body, through the Conception Vessel, and down to the point at #1 again.

Perform nine circulations at a time, then relax. Always do theseexercises slowly and comfortably.

Dance of the Dragon

The Qi-Gong Dragon Dance has many positive benefits, fromhealing your body, to elevating your energy level. It is a bodilyprayer calling for your Divine Spirit to flow through your body. Itwill activate circulation, develop balance, stimulate the endocrinesystem, improve your biological defensive mechanisms, provokeregeneration, and much more.

As a pleasing side effect, it will help your body convert fat intouseful energy. It also elevates your body temperature a bit, furthercontributing to weight loss. By twisting your hips and moving yourthighs, you will also reshape your body and develop flexibility.

You might have to read the following paragraphs a few times tounderstand the next technique well enough to do it. You will moveyour joined hands in a “three circle trajectory” (figure 6), whilebalancing your hips in the opposite direction. This will place yourspine in a balancing S shape (figure 7). Follow numbers #1through #8 along the path and memorize those steps. The circlescross at your throat, Solar Plexus and perineum, then Solar Plexusagain and throat again, to complete the figure eight.

As you crouch down, you will also bendyour legs until you are half crouched, with your hands at number5 on figure 6’s path. The top circle of the path will be completedmore in front of you than above your head.

The Dance is performed in two steps. The first step is the activemovement of the Dragon, and the second step is a contemplativeseries of breaths, without movements. We provide photos belowto help you understand and execute the Dance. Go slowly at first, getting used to every movement before you do the entire Dance ina single fluid motion.

The Elixir of Life

The theory and practice of the techniques of Life Extension arequite simple, but it takes a long time to achieve the desired results. Then again, you have the rest of your life to reach your goals,so you can enjoy practicing the techniques as you extend yourlifespan.

Breathe in Life in the form of white light, through the middle ofyour palms, the middle of the base of your feet, and the top ofyour head. Each time you inhale, breathe in Qi through your 5extremities, directing it towards your abdomen and concentratingit in your inner Dan-tian. Each time you breathe out, air is exhaledwhile all energy remains inside your body, but you should not really concentrate on this aspect for this technique. Let your exha-lation remain natural and relaxed.

Once you are able to visualize the Qi becoming concentrated intoa powerful ball (6 inches wide) inside your abdomen, relax, andvisualize the ball becoming increasingly dense. Imagine that it isincreasingly tangible, real. It will be converted into an intense redpill of bioelectric energy that you can even feel physically, so concentrated has it become. Continue to build up the red pill oflife in your visualization. As your bodily fluids pass through yourabdomen, the red pill of Life will slowly release its serum into yourbloodstream, which will circulate through your entire body, fillingit with the clear red light of Life. Visualize the red pill of LifeEnergy continuing to become a concentrated center of living redenergy in your inner Dan-tian.

- 45 -

Page 46: Kuji in Complete 33

This practice is only a part of what can be done to extend yourlifespan. The practice of praying, thanking God, chanting mantras,or engaging in whatever practices you believe in to show gratitudeand connection to your Creator, will benefit you as well. Thesepractices will raise your energy level and permit good circulationof energy in your body. To extend your lifespan, you must alsoexpand your consciousness. Meditations in which you empty yourmind of everything are highly recommended.

Of the Heart

The Mantra of Compassion

Before you learn about the doorways of power, you need to develop the attitude required to access and use any type of spiri-tual power. The way you see and define your life will also deter-mine the specific way the powerful energy of your Spirit will man-ifest through you. Having a negative perception of life will defi-nitely have equally negative consequences for the way the essenceof the spiritual energies will manifest through you. With propertraining, you can manifest only the joyful and happy events youdesire in your life.

We recommend that you begin your inner spiritual developmentby focusing on developing compassion, which is one of the mostpowerful sources of energy for the manifestation of the Buddhain your body and in your daily life.

Page 49: Kuji in Complete 33

Om Mani Padme Hum

The mantra (prayer), Om Mani Padme Hum, said out loud orsilently to oneself, invokes the powerful, benevolent attention andblessings of Chenrezig, the Buddhist embodiment of compassion. It is said that viewing the written form of the mantra has potenteffects, acting as a talisman.

It is also said that all the teachings of the Buddha are contained inthis mantra: Om Mani Padme Hum, and that it cannot really betranslated into a simple phrase or sentence.

Chant it as often as you wish, and you will develop compassionand attract compassion.

Implication

The concept of evolving quickly and easily is a common topic inthis “New Age”. Many people wish to develop tremendous powerwhile taking little responsibility for the consequences of their useof that power. They want to invest very little time and energy, while reaping huge rewards. It is possible for you to evolve veryquickly, but it is also necessary that you develop personal respon-sibility before you achieve these gains. This cannot be avoided.

Value and a Fair Exchange

It is important to demonstrate your appreciation of the value inthe sacred knowledge that you will acquire here. You must learnhow to cherish this knowledge and understand that you must notgive it freely to someone who might then destroy or mutilate it.This occult knowledge is too important to be treated as anythingother than your most precious possession. You must keep it foryourself, and reveal it only when the seeker before you has shownsigns of understanding and respect. There is a spiritual cost torevealing occult secrets of great value to someone before theyhave shown the mandatory respect. When a monk wanted to learnsomething from his Master, he had to work hard all day, and bringsome food with him (to give the Master). Then, the Master wouldsee that there was a balance in the exchange, and he would revealsome esoteric knowledge to the seeker. There must not be anyabuse in this exchange. The exchange must be fair and balanced.

- 50 -

Page 51: Kuji in Complete 33

You must never destroy your life to acquire occult knowledge, butyou surely will not acquire any knowledge of great value withoutsome kind of effort and sacrifice.

You will develop great power only when you feel within yourselfthat you value and cherish this sacred knowledge, and when youbehave in ways that will protect this knowledge. We call this attitude the “Sense of the Sacred”. This “Sense of the Sacred” isa required prerequisite to the achievement of the greatest powerin any occult system.

Time and Willpower

You will not develop any psychic powers by trying a method oncefor five minutes. You will not even attain anything by trying sometechnique for an hour, and then immediately quitting because of alack of results.

To develop great power, you must practice a minimum of fiveminutes per day, every day of the week. Once a week, you mustpractice for at least one full hour. Do something everyday, even asimple salutation to your altar, but do it.

To evolve more quickly, you may practice the exercises twentyminutes each day. All of those who have acted with determinationto make progress on their own spiritual path have achieved sometransformation and elevation from within, with this kind ofconsistent effort. If nothing happens inside, you might not beinfusing yourself with a “Sacred” attitude, with respect for the

- 51 -

Page 52: Kuji in Complete 33

value of the knowledge you desire. Nonetheless, you should giveyourself time for the results to manifest in you.

Some very uncompromising students, who are very committed togetting results, have used these techniques for thirty minutes everyday. After only a few months, these devoted students are feelingintense flows of energy, getting results in their personal life, andbecoming aware of patterns in their behavior they had nevernoticed before. In addition to these practices, the most uncompro-mising students studied esoteric knowledge, kept a sacred attitude, and took care of their bodies.

Gather your determination, and then do it. If you practice onlyfive minutes per day, everyday, you will get results.

Karma and Dharma

We will not write an extensive essay about Karma and Dharmahere, since a lot of documentation is available on these subjectselsewhere; Instead of a long diatribe, we will summarize the mainconcepts and give you a daily exercise to practice for your ownpersonal growth.

Karma is the result or consequence of your past deeds. You getfrom life what you put into it; you reap from the field in the fallwhat you sowed as seed in the spring; you receive an eye for an eye.Every action you take will result in a reaction in the Universe, andthat reaction will eventually rebound back to you (as Karmic jus-tice). To perceive your life on a spiritual level, you must begin tounderstand that any action you take, even those you took in a pastlife, will reproduce itself in your life today in the form of a lessonthat may include a bit of suffering. These lessons occur so youbecome more conscious of the need for compassion in your rela-tionships. Karma is therefore a tool to teach you whatever life-les-sons will most effectively help you evolve. Suffering is not neces-sary in life, but we must accept it when it occurs because it isdesigned to help us evolve. While we must be accepting of what-ever trials come to us; at the same time we must learn to free our-selves from negative Karma.

Dharma is also a tool for learning and personal evolution.Assuming you did not steal, murder or lie in another lifetime, yourHigher Self may still decide to experiment a bit, perhaps in orderto better understand life as a human being. To facilitate that under-standing, your Higher Self may create trials and events in your life,

- 53 -

Page 54: Kuji in Complete 33

so that the desired learning can take place. There is usually less suffering in the lessons of Dharma than in the lessons of Karma;sometimes there is no suffering at all.

Even though you are seeking personal evolution, you may have suf-fered some trial or injustice that seems unbearable to you. Whenthis is the case you may wish to call upon the Great Justice of theUniverse to manifest itself in your life and the lives of those direct-ly around you. We are not only talking about invoking simplehuman justice here, also we refer to calling on the Divine Justicethat sets experiences in place so that our Karma will be resolved, inorder to free the soul of its burden. If you believe you have suf-fered injustice at the hands of another, you can call upon the GreatJustice to set things right. Then, the Great Justice will cause theoccurrence of events that will definitely force your aggressor intoa lesson, to help him relieve his soul of its Karmic burden.

On the outside, the “target” will probably seem to suffer, and theevents will appear to lead to the correction of the situation so thatyou receive the justice you feel you were denied. It might even ruinhis/her life. In truth, these events are set up in a way that isdesigned to relieve both of you of the Karma that probably bindsyou together, and this correction might even ruin your own life. Ifthe (named) aggressor is in the right, and it is you that is in thewrong, then get ready to experience an unpleasant major lesson, while the smiling face of your innocent companion mocks you.

High levels of compassion and forgiveness will also transmuteyour Karma so it is released without you having to face those difficult experiences. Developing an attitude of loving compassion

- 54 -

Page 55: Kuji in Complete 33

will elevate your Karma until love dissolves your Karma complete-ly, thereby removing the necessity for unpleasant lessons fromyour life. Compassion can prevent painful lessons from occurring;then again it will also prevent the lesson from being received.Perhaps, in that event, the lesson was not necessary for you toevolve, and the events you are experiencing may have just been theextra weight of your past Karma, from a time when you were lessvirtuous than you are now.

The key here is to find a balance between accepting the lessons oflife on the one hand, and forgiving and developing compassion asa tool to relieve the pain of your existence on the other hand. Thepractice of compassion consists of identifying the lessons in yourlife by getting a perspective that is external to your normal pointof view; it is as if you were a Spirit flying above your human self.As you look down on the problems in your life, and the people you are having trouble dealing with, you must actively work on forgiving the other parties that you have been angry with, at thesame time seeking understanding of the lesson itself, and itsmeaning in your life. Breathe deeply and do not be afraid ofexperiencing the emotions from your past. Replay your life in yourmind, and ask your God to guide you through the steps of yourKarmic lessons and your Dharmic path.

In time, you will learn how to call upon the Great Justice to manifest itself, without negative repercussions, but don’t do thistechnique until you are comfortable in your heart, since it willbring up old memories and it will manifest events that may causeyou to suffer, if you have not first developed enough compassion, and the ability to see your life from a higher perspective.

Lessons of the Mind

Meditation

The Green Dragon at the White Gate

This meditation is based on breathing and visualization. You willbreathe deeply and softly. Sit down cross-legged on a pillow (or ona chair if you can’t cross your legs). Do not rest your back on anything. Practice using your stomach muscles to hold your spinestraight, without excessive effort. As you begin the deep breathingand maintain this position, you will also use the Pran Mudra (handposition), explained in the basic hand mudras section. Pleasebecome familiar with it before beginning this meditationpractice. (Pran is a mudra, Prana is a form of energy.)

Visualize drawing green energy up from the earth. Breathe as youvisualize that emerald green energy rising from the earth, enteringyour base Chakra and legs, filling your body completely with greenlight, all the way up to your head. Visualize the green light surrounding you, flooding you from the inside of your body andextending to the area surrounding you. Visualize this for a fewminutes.

Now, empty your mind. Forget about the green light; just leave thelight to do its work. Begin to visualize drawing white light downfrom the Heavens, entering the top of your head until it fills yourentire body. Visualize this for a few minutes.

- 56 -

Page 57: Kuji in Complete 33

There is a place called the “door of Prana”, at the bridge of yournose, between your eyes. It is just inside your nasal area, where youinitially feel air flowing in when you inhale, in the area where yournose joins your eye bridge. Concentrate on the door of Prana.Breathe, and feel the air slowly going back and forth in this area ofyour nose. See your body filled with white light, and concentratecontinuously on the door of Prana. From this place in your nosethe Prana enters. This is the Universal life force, a form of energylatent in the air around you. The Prana enters your body as youinhale, but it doesn’t leave your body when you exhale. Your bodyretains this life force and it circulates freely inside of you. Whenyou exhale, only depleted air is evacuated. Visualize the white lightshining brighter and brighter at the bridge of your nose while thewhite light/ Prana / life force is circulating throughout your body.Continue this technique for five minutes.

Empty your mind, relax, and be at peace.

- 57 -

Page 58: Kuji in Complete 33

Prana gives life.

In scientific terms we recognize that Prana is actually the sub-atomic particles of energy which are freely available in the airaround us. As you fill yourself with this Life Force, you will be surprised at how much energy and vitality it will bring to you. Withpractice, as your body learns to remain calm and relaxed while youpractice, you may extend the period of breathing in the whitelight to ten minutes, and then to twenty minutes.

Hands of God

Basic Hand Mudras

A “mudra” is a hand gesture, just as a “mantra” is a sound and a“mandala” is an image or thought. A mudra is a particular positionof your hands that connects the energy channels in your fingers incertain ways, in order to produce a precise and beneficial effect. When the tips of specific fingers touch, this action activates ener-gy relays which, in conjunction with the normal flow of energythrough your straightened fingers, produces specific desirableaffects in your physical and energetic bodies.

Some mudras are designed to stimulate their beneficial effects inyour physical body, while others are designed to affect your spiri-tual bodies. Effects of the physical mudras range from rebuildingyour bones and cartilage, to healing your kidneys, to clearing yourmind, to helping you to get up more quickly in the morning. spir-itual mudras have a broad range of elevating effects that canenhance your psychic abilities, help you forgive, reduce anger, raiseyour energy level, etc. In fact, there are hundreds of differentmudras. From these you may create all the effects you could pos-sibly wish for, but it is recommended that you learn them one at atime.

- 59 -

Page 60: Kuji in Complete 33

Pran Mudra

This mudra stimulates the base Chakra, the channels of energiesin the legs, and the minor Chakras in the middle of the feet. Thismudra is called “Mudra of Life”. It elevates the energy level, reduces fatigue, and clears your eyesight. It will enhance yourdetermination and self trust. It is also used in conjunction withtreatments for eye disorders.

Straighten your indexand middle fingers; placeyour thumb against yourring and your little fingers at the tips, forming a circle. Takedeep, slow, NormalBreaths. Concentrate onyour base Chakra and the soles of both feet. To begin: After aminute of breathing normally, begin Reversed Breathing and continue for several cycles. Breathe in and tighten your abdomen, sexual organs, perineum and buttocks. Hold your breath in for fiveseconds and then release everything, except the mudra. Breathenormally again and repeat this cycle for five minutes.

- 60 -

Page 61: Kuji in Complete 33

Knowledge Mudra

This mudra stimulates the ability to learn and teach. It is the mudraof knowledge. Using this mudra makes it easier for both sides ofyour brain to link new neurons together, (thus forming connec-tions that are the basisfor inspiration and theaggregation of newknowledge). These neural connections alsoenable you to communi-cate information moreeasily, and more effec-tively. The Knowledge Mudra is also useful for acquiring knowl-edge from the Heavens, for learning subconsciously, and forallowing your Higher Self to guide you. You will notice that manystatues of Buddhist Gods are shown using this mudra.

The Knowledge Mudra is performed with your palms pointingforward and your fingers pointing up. Touch your thumb andindex fingers together at the tips, allowing them to form a gentlecurve. Breathe normally, focusing on the area where your finger-tips touch. Empty your mind and be at peace.

- 61 -

Page 62: Kuji in Complete 33

Healing Mudra

The Healing Mudra is often used by the Buddha called SangeMenla. Sange Menla brought the science of healing to theBuddhists. It will help your body create a supportive environmentfor healing, so the med-ical and alternative solu-tions you employ have abetter chance of work-ing. It is not meant to bea replacement for med-ical solutions, it supportsthose therapies.

The hand position for the Healing Mudra is the same as it is forthe Knowledge Mudra, but your fingers must be pointing down-wards. Sit with your legs crossed, with your left hand resting on thespot where your legs cross, palms up in front of your Dan-tian,while your right hand is placed in the shape of the mudra, withyour right wrist resting on your right knee. Breathe deeply andslowly, and meditate.

- 62 -

Opening Gate Mudra

This mudra is often used in those ceremonies used to open theGates of the Temple. It is the mudra that improves listening andcommunication. It will treat any throat disorder and this mudraalso helps you develop the ability to communicate at the physicaland spiritual levels.

The top photo showshow to place your handswhen you do the mudra, but the lower photoshows more clearly thatyou wrap your leftthumb inside the fingersof your right hand.Touch your right thumband your left middle finger, and notice the seashell shape. Food, Air and Energy Mudras

The Food, Air and Energy Mudras are utilized to improve theassimilation of the food and fuels you consume. When the strainof assimilating the food you eat is markedly reduced, your healthwill naturally be enhanced. Moreover, your energy level will soar. This mudra is designed to help you process food, absorb the nutri-ents from that food, and then to eliminate the waste productsmore efficiently. The Food, Air and Energy Mudras offer all ofthese benefits, and they will also help you to resolve digestiveproblems.

Assimilation Mudra

With the left hand, link your thumb, middle and ring fingers. Thiswill link the circulation of energy with the assimilation/elimina-tion process of all your bodies (physical and spiritual). With yourright hand, link your thumb, index and middle finger, which willenhance the assimilationprocess at all levels.Breathe for two to fiveminutes, keeping yourhands in this position.Relax and empty yourmind.

- 64 -

Page 65: Kuji in Complete 33

Elimination Mudra

Keep your left hand in the same position as the previous mudra,so you stay in touch with the flow of energy from the assimilationprocess just established.

It is only necessary tochange your right handposition, linking yourthumb, ring and littlefingers, while keepingthe index and middlefinger straight. Thismudra will enhance yourability to eliminate waste and toxins, help to heal digestive illness-es, and is especially beneficial for intestinal upsets. Breathe for afew minutes with your hands in this position. Concentrate on theflow of the energy, relaxing your mind and body completely.

Elemental Mudras

The Elemental Mudras are a good way to tap into the elementalforces of which everything in nature is comprised. Each of theElemental Mudras encourages your energetic body to channel thefive types of primal energy: Spirit (Void), earth, air, fire and water. When you channel these elemental forces properly, you can healyourself more effectively and you can learn to direct these forcesto manifest your desires. These mudras should be used before anytype of exercise that make use of the primal Elements. They mayalso be used alone, for the simple benefits they bring as we recon-nect to the primary, elemental forces of the universe. .

Each finger of the hand is associated with a specific element.

The thumb is associated with the most abstract element, which isthe Void or Spirit. The Void is not a form of emptiness; rather, itis an absolutely infinite Primal Element that cannot be defined innormal human terms. Thus, it is perceived as a Void, from our lim-ited human perspective. Using the mudra of the Void is a goodway to attain peace of mind and creativity. The Void will connectyou with the spiritual world and bring its light and wisdom intoyour life. The Void will also help you attain the state of «no mind»for which there is no simple explanation: experience must serve asthe teacher in this regard.

The index finger is associated with the Air Element. Air is swiftand conveys knowledge to us in its flowing streams. The AirElement enhances mental acuity and general intelligence.

- 66 -

Page 67: Kuji in Complete 33

The middle finger is associated with the Fire Element. Fire is apowerful element, which has penetrating and transmuting proper-ties. The Fire Element enhances power and courage.

The ring finger is associated with the Water Element. Water isassociated with the characteristics of emotion, motion and sensi-bility. The Water Element also helps us to develop flexibility andgood circulation.

The little finger is associated with the Earth Element. The EarthElement brings stability and strength. Its nature is to be grounded, stable, and solidly in contact. Therefore it increasesthese characteristics in you.

Each of these mudras naturally uses all of your fingers together. However, the overall shape of the hand in each of the mudras isused to emphasize on the element associated with that finger. These mudras also connect the energy channels (Meridians) inways that create the desired effect. Take note that the Chakras donot necessarily correspond to the associated element in every tech-nique, but they do in this particular application. The conceptsexposed by this particular exercise should be contemplated duringthe practice. Form your hands into the shape of the mudra, and asyou breathe, visualize the colors and focus on the related Chakra.

- 67 -

Page 68: Kuji in Complete 33

Chi – Earth

Place your hands as shown above, with your fingers intertwinedand the tips of your thumbs touching. This represents the lowgravitational center and stability of the Earth Element. The photoon the left represents the best way to do it, with palms facingdown. The photo on the right is only to show you the proper finger position, with the thumbs touching.

As you perform this mudra, you may focus on your base Chakra, which is at the base of your spine. Feel yourself become one withall things that are solid. Feel yourself become part of the very earthbeneath you. Imagine your body as an almost inflexible rock. Beaware of your physical body, its solidity and the reality of it.Visualize the colors brown and aquamarine (pale green) every-where. Breathe a bit faster than normal. Say the mantra “Chi” a fewtimes, aloud or mentally. Feel the emotion of enduring stability.

Concentrate on your lower abdomen where you might feel theenergy swirling and gurgling like water in your Dan-tian.Concentrate on your Navel Chakra. Begin to feel yourself flowwith nature. Allow your body to move a bit. Water is the elementof emotion, fluidity and flexibility. Visualize everything bathed inthe color blue. Breathe normally and repeat the mantra “SUI”.

Ka - Fire

Touch the tips of your middlefingers together. The thumbs arepointing up, to represent theforce of Fire rising. Start themudra with your hands in frontof your solar plexus and, after awhile, lift your hands up gentlyuntil they are in front of yourHeart area.

You should begin by focusing on your solar plexus, then on yourHeart Chakra. You may feel your body being comfortably con-sumed in a rising tide of great warmth. Visualize everythingaround you in the color of red flames, with streams of green flowing through them. Focus on being courageous. While yourhands are in front of your solar plexus, breathe a little bit fasterthan normal, and say the mantra “Ka”. As you raise your hands infront of your Heart, slow your breathing down and feel yourselfbecoming more internal; softly chant the mantra (Ka).

Being courageous has nothing to do with living without fear;courage is acting without paying attention to your present fears.

When you are angry, do the Ka mudra to temper your anger andto develop more compassion. The appeasing energies of thismudra will help you to moderate your anger and ease your ten-sions. Hold the mudra longest in front of your Heart.

Fu - Wind

Hold your index fingers so they touch your thumbs, tip to tip, forming two small circles. The middle fingers should be touchingand the rest of your fingers should also be extended. Place yourhands (in mudra position) in front of you, anywhere that feelscomfortable. The completed energy circuit is formed with yourarms, with your throat Chakra at the top of the circuit and themudra at the bottom of the circuit.

Focus on your throat Chakra. Feel free, subtle and untouchable.Nothing can stop you, and nothing can disable you. You shouldvisualize everything around you radiating bright yellow energy, with purple waves and gentle clouds surrounding you. Let yourmind connect to the source of all knowledge. You won’t really feelany effect until a sufficient period of training has passed, but youwill train your mind by contemplating these concepts. Allow peaceto flood throughout your entire being. Breathe normally and saythe mantra “Fu”.

Ku - Void

The left palm is held face up, and the right hand is turned so thatthe palm is towards you. Your thumbs should be extended. Youshould slide your hands together, so your hands intersect, with twofingers on either side of the intersection. The photo on the left isthe proper way to do the mudra, with palms facing up and towardsyou. The photo on the right shows the hands slightly rotated toshow you how the hands intersect.

The left hand draws energy from above, and the right hand givesthat energy to your body. This mudra allows these energies tointertwine in a single confluence.

Your focus here should be on your Third Eye and your CrownChakra. Visualize yourself at the center of the Void, at its verycenter. See yourself in all things, and visualize everything in existence as part of you. With this thought, everything externaland internal to you is one with you. Breathe as slowly as possiblewithout straining. Say the mantra “Ku”, once or several times, thenempty your mind. With every inhalation, hold your breath in for a few seconds, and with every exhalation, hold it out for a fewseconds.

- 72 -

Page 73: Kuji in Complete 33

Experiencing the Void is an essential part of the Elemental Mudrapractice. The Void connects the other four elements with theUniverse. Contemplate this truth: “I am everything and nothing.I am everywhere and nowhere. I am one with the universe. I AM.”

Kuji Goshin Ho

Whatever the technique, it is always better to receive a sacred initiation in person from a competent Master, than to simply reada technique from a book. Nonetheless, in the absence of a competent Master, a competently written book may offer you theonly resource available for you to receive any kind of initiationwhatsoever. The techniques presented in this book are not theequivalent (nor can they take the place of) the kind of mastery ofthe all-inclusive techniques achievable after years of training witha Master; However, this book is a very good place to start if yousincerely desire to climb the staircase that leads to spiritual discovery. The process of learning these techniques can efficient-ly help you to start climbing that ladder within only a few weeksof daily practice, but you should never think you have found thetruth until you reach actual illumination.

If you want to have the best chance at attaining the results youdesire, you must develop an attitude of respect and reverence forthe sacred nature of the Divine world. This reverent attitudemust be your first priority when you begin to study, learn and prac-tice the techniques of Kuji-In, the first step in learning from thisbook. If you want real results from your studies here, you mustbegin with the proper context. Arrange your environment so thatit is peaceful. Make sure you will not be interrupted during yourtraining session for any reason. (For example, unplug your phone, make sure there are no visitors, and that nothing will interrupt youin any way) You must assure yourself that your environment is

- 74 -

Page 75: Kuji in Complete 33

inviolate. A sacred space requires quiet. You cannot achieve success when you are harried and your outer world is in chaos. This is your consecrated Holy place; that place where you connectwith your own Divine Light or Self. Treat it as hallowed ground.Do not even play music in the background unless it is necessary toshut out noise from the outside world.

“Kuji Goshin Ho” is the expression we use to refer to the protec-tive aspects of this sacred practice. In fact, these practices andtechniques are the rungs of the ladder you are climbing. With eachstep up the ladder, you will add a level of protection to your dailylife. You do not have to consciously think about achieving theseincreasing levels of protection, they will occur automatically asyou perform the energy techniques. As your bodily energetic systems develop, many events will occur in ways you did not plan,so powerful are the influences these techniques have on yourimmediate environment. The Kuji-In techniques will change yourlife. If you practice a lot, the effect will be drastic and could causeminor, but temporary disease manifestations. Take care of your-self; you must act responsibly with your newly acquired abilities.

Warning! If you use Kuji-In to harm anyone else, even if theyseem deserving to you, it will not matter what negative emotion isdriving your intention, (anger, hatred, jealousy, avarice…). If youpush forward in your Kuji-In practice, while harboring ANY suchintentions and emotions, the result will be an extremely quick res-olution of the karmic weight attached to the event in qUestion. This means that you might turn your own life into a living hell. These are the inevitable consequences if you pray to God to punish someone, or to bring money to you without even working

- 75 -

Page 76: Kuji in Complete 33

for it, or you pray that someone is manipulated into falling in lovewith you. You are totally responsible for the consequences ofeverything that you experiment with. You will have all the toolsnecessary to make your life into whatever you want it to be. Thereis never any need to act from negative or manipulative emotions. Therefore, in EVERY situation, act with virtue.

Practicing Kuji-In as it is presented here will support and enhanceevery other action you take in life. Your psychic powers willevolve, and you will achieve an expanded perception of the world. As you practice these techniques, concentrate on doing them forthe joy of learning them, with no other reason than discoveringyour true self and elevating your consciousness. Once you havecompleted a period of practice, you can use various manifestationtechniques in conjunction with these present techniques with adrastically enhanced efficiency.

Kuji-In Techniques

Kuji-In is translated from the Japanese as “Nine Syllables”. Thenumber nine is the number that symbolizes completion in theBuddhist system. Your hands are your primary tool in these prac-tices, and each hand mudra is combined with a specificmantra/sound, mandala/visualization and breathing exercise thatcompletes the technique. Thus, each set is comprised of amudra/mantra/mandala, and will be referred to as a SET for theremainder of this text. The Kuji-In technique is composed ofnine SETS.

- 76 -

Page 77: Kuji in Complete 33

In Kuji-In practice you will be combining these three elements((movement (mudra)/ sound (mantra)/thought (mandala/mind))in order to manifest your desires. (Again remember that your goalfor now is to perform the daily practices for the joy of learningthese techniques and for the pleasure of connecting to yourDivine Self). For each SET you will make the hand signs (mudra),say the single word repeatedly (mantra), and visualize the effect ofthe set to the best of your knowledge (mandala/mind). Start withthe first set, (the RIN Mantra), using only that one syllable mantra.Repeat this mantra in your mind, while you also position yourhands according to the mudra, and focus your mind on the con-cept associated with the mudra/mantra. Focus without conscious effort. Let your mind simply settle down until it rests onthat thought. Do not judge yourself harshly if your mind wandersin every direction; simply come back peacefully to the practice.

Do not move on to the next set until you are comfortable with thethree parts of the first set: get comfortable with using your hands(mudra), together with the indicated word (mantra) and thought(mandala). When you master the three parts of a single set, andyou feel that something is starting to happen in the energy planes, you can move to the next set. Each set may take as little as a day,or as much as a month of daily practice before you can feel itseffect. Practice periods may vary between five minutes and anhour every day. If you don’t feel anything after a few days of prac-tice, move on to the next set. Eventually, you will feel the energiesactively working on your body.

When you reach the ninth set, you will start learning more complex mantras; these are complete prayers. At this juncture it is

- 77 -

Page 78: Kuji in Complete 33

best that you begin with the first set again and re-climb the ladder. This will greatly enhance the efficiency of your Kuji-In practices, and the Divine Forces will be more present to work with you during your practices. This form of mantra is a prayer, thus it isuttered repeatedly with faith. Say it just as you would speak anynormal phrase that deserves to be spoken with reverence. It is to your True Self that you are praying.

Before you begin each practice period, start with a few minutes ofthe general breathing exercise. Then, for each practice period, startwith the first set (RIN), and continue with each set in sequence forone full minute, followed by the next set (for one minute) ,one after the other, until you reach the set that you are currentlylearning/working on. You may practice the set you are currentlyworking on for as long as you wish.

Once you have gone through the process of learning the entireKuji-In system, a normal practice period can be accomplishedover thirty minutes as follows: One minute of breathing, threeminutes per set (total twenty-seven minutes), and two minutes ofsilent contemplation. You may then meditate for another halfhour to elevate your consciousness.

In the following presentation, the first photo demonstrates thebest way to do each exercise and the second photo shows you theproper finger placement for that exercise. The instructions foreach mudra are followed by the Chakra associated with that Kuji, the mantra prayer to be spoken with it, and the concepts and ben-efits associated with practicing the Kuji. Take note that the word“On” (from the Japanese) is like the “Om” in Sanskrit, but the

- 78 -

Page 79: Kuji in Complete 33

“On” involves a projection of the mantra, while the “Om” is morecontemplative and internal. A “Kanji” may be also added to yourvisualization. A Kanji is a Japanese symbol representing one letterof a word. Next to the picture of the mudra, you will see a smallsquare. The Kanji for this Kuji-In is the small letter at the centerof the square. You may add the Kanji to your visualization.

Here is a list of the 9 Kuji-In sets with their japanese titles, asso-ciating each with their popular benefits.

1- RIN – Reinforces the positive aspects of the physical, mental and energetic planes.

2- KYO – Increases the healthy flow of energy, masteryof energy.

3- TOH – Enhances your positive relationship with theuniverse, resulting in improved harmony and balance.

Tools and application

Although the only apparent features would be the commonly seat-ed posture holding some kind of hand position, this Nine HandSeals method actually combines five main tools:

- a hand position, called "mudra" in sanskrit- a spoken expression, called "mantra" in sanskrit- a focus point in the body, called "chakra" in sanskrit- a mental visualization, called "mandala" in sanskrit- a philosophical concept to ponder

All or a few of these tools are used while breathing in a relaxedposture. The beauty of this technique is that it can be done bycombining only two of the five tools, helping in the assimilationof the technique, yet it reaches its full potential when all the toolsare applied at once. This way, it becomes much easier to assimilateeach step one by one.

When to UseThe techniques can be used from a few minutes to a full hour eachday. It works great right before you go to bed. In time, the prac-tice of the technique will automatically put you in a state of relax-ation and inner awareness, most of the time at the cost of a less-er awareness of the surroundings. It is the goal to attain. You willnaturally generate your own mental cocoon when you practice, thus it becomes necessary to warn you of an important side effect. If you start doing even a part of the technique while you are driv-ing your car, or doing something that requires your attention, youmight get into this isolated mental state for a moment, putting

- 80 -

Page 81: Kuji in Complete 33

yourself and other people at risk. It is often stronger than yourown will to drive carefully. Practicing this technique will put you ina state of inner awareness. You would not like to use this wonder-ful technique to lose your concentration when it is the most criti-cal. So, we recommend you practice the Nine Hand Seals tech-niques in a suitable place for it, when your concentration is notrequired to keep you and other people safe.

Since this technique focuses your attention within yourself, it isnot a technique to use while you are actually training or perform-ing some other activity that requires your attention. Even if thetechniques will give out great benefits by themselves, the NineHand Seals assists your development by making your potentialfully available when you need it in your other training processes. Inthis sense, an athlete must not use the Nine Hand Seals or its com-ponent tools while he is doing his actual routine, but before it, oruse the mental focus tools when simply training in the gym. In thesame manner, a musician will only disturb his concentration if hetries to hold the mental concepts in mind while also trying to playwith efficiency, but having practiced the Nine Hands Seals before, more neural connections will be available for him to benefit fromhis practice.

For example, the first technique is used to develop both physicalstrength and self-confidence. Those who practices enough of thefirst technique will have quicker results when bodybuilding, andfaster recovery periods between each training. A businessman whotakes the time to use the full technique 15 minutes each day for aweek will feel much more comfortable afterwards, when doing hispresentations or holding negotiations.

MudrasThe body is filled with nerves that carry electricity, but it also hasa more subtle circuitry, known as meridians. These meridians arecommonly used in traditional Chinese medicine in the applicationof acupuncture. They are also the base of many massage tech-niques, since they have many beneficial influences on the body andthe mind. Their use normally induces a state of relaxation, mak-ing the body prone to recovery.

The hand positions, or mudras, that we will use crosses andextends the fingers in ways to benefit from these meridians. Eventhough the meridians travel through the whole of the body, mostof them start and end at the fingertips, thus, the hand positionsand finger puzzles. When you breathe while concentrating onfocus points or acupressure points, it will work on these points inthe same way a needle or massage would.

In ancient India, the Hindu people tried out every type of: bodypositions, meditations, endless recitation of prayers, difficult fast-ing, applying many trials on their minds and bodies, in a quest forthe ultimate yoga of self-development. One of the legacies ofthese experiments was the use of mudras that worked on the bodyand the mind in manners similar to what yoga would do. Yet, thesehand positions are much simpler to apply than holding full bodypostures. These hand positions traveled to China and Japan alongwith the propagation of philosophy and meditation techniques.

- 82 -

Page 83: Kuji in Complete 33

MantrasThe spoken expressions we will use always represent a referenceto the philosophy that we keep in mind, yet it is spoken to accel-erate the effect of the technique. It is known in auto-suggestionsand neural programming that even though we keep a thought inmind, the concept integrates the mental process much faster if itis spoken aloud, since it uses more parts of the brain to speak thanif the concept is only mentally contemplated. The words can bespoken in any language, since the important thing is to involve thebrain in physical speech. While many practitioners of Japan's kuji-in appreciate speaking the Japanese kanji pronounciation, somehealers and spiritualists prefer the sanskrit mantra, while somepeople also like to speak them in common language. Here, we willgive the Japanese Kanji pronounciation (jp) and the Sanskrit pro-nounciation (sk.) for each of the nine steps.

The concrete affirmations of philosophical expressions are a keycomponent for mental training, as it reinforces the concepts theyrepresent in our mind. While repeatedly reciting a few words thathold a certain meaning, the speech interacts with subconsciousparts of our mind to make new connections and render the con-cept more accessible to our awareness, in our conscious mind.Although the spoken expressions used in our techniques mightseem to differ a bit from the philosophical concept held in mind, their efficiency is used to its fullest since they work in combinationwith the mental concept. This entire aspect will become muchsimpler when you are finished learning the first technique.

- 83 -

Page 84: Kuji in Complete 33

MandalaVisualization is an image that we imagine in our mind. Mentalvisualization is there to help us keep our attention on the tech-nique, hoping to prevent the mind to wander too far astray. Yet, ifyou start to think about random subjects, do not put pressure onyourself to come back to the visualization, but try to come backin a peaceful and relaxed attitude, calmly resetting the imagery inyour mind.

The image kept in mind will assist in placing our attention on thefocus point, but it will also use colours in ways known as chro-motherapy (colour therapy), combining the psychological effect ofthe colour to enhance the efficiency of our practice period. Ofcourse, the visualization itself will have a subtle reference to thephilosophical concept held in mind. These visualisations are sug-gestions, and will vary from one tradition to another. We will evengive out different visualisations in future books.

ChakrasWhen we pay attention to a place in our body for a long enoughperiod of time, the focus point will become relaxed and our aware-ness of this place will be enhanced. Paying attention to a part ofour body will accelerate its healing or regeneration, since our men-tal attention does lend more neural electricity to the area of atten-tion. This available extra energy is always used in the best possibleway by the body. For example, people who use pain killers healslower than those who do not, since feeling pain continuallyattracts our attention to the hindered area. While the time differ-ence is not miraculous, it is notable. Each of our nine techniquesrequires us to focus on a specific point in the body, not to heal it

- 84 -

Page 85: Kuji in Complete 33

but to enhance it. These focus points, specific to each of the ninetechniques, are simultaneously a part of the meridians system, nervous system, and endocrine system, associated with an acu-pressure point, a main nervous centre and a gland.

When focusing on a point in your body, it should be done in arelaxed attitude. It is not necessary to concentrate with force.Simply pay attention to the focus point and try to feel it. It mighttake quite a while before you feel any particular sensation at thisfocus point, and it is not required. The moment you pay attentionto a specific place on your body, the technique will be enhanced.

1- RIN

Extend your two middle fingers and interlace allother fingers.

Chakra: BaseMantra jp: On baï shi ra man ta ya sowakaMantra sk: Om vajramanataya swaha

The RIN set is used to strengthen your mind and body. This Kuji-in set must be performed before any other Kuji-in sets can trulybe effective. The RIN Kuji acts as a sort of hook-up to theUltimate Source of all Power. By connecting you with this Divineenergy, the RIN Kuji strengthens your mind and body, especiallyin collaboration with the other practices of the Kuji-In. A strongerconnection to the Divine energy source will make you stronger atevery level. Please be aware that this set may elevate your bodytemperature.

- 86 -

Page 87: Kuji in Complete 33

2- KYO

Extend your index fingers and bend your middlefingers over your index fingers so that the tip ofyour thumbs are touching. Interlace all your otherfingers.

Chakra: Hara/NavelMantra jp: On isha na ya in ta ra ya sowakaMantra sk: Om ishaanayaa yantrayaa swaha

KYO activates the flow of energy within your body and outside ofyou, in your environment. This Kuji will help you learn to directenergy throughout your body, and eventually outside your body, soyou can manifest your desires in the objective world. Althoughwillpower directs energy, you must not push too hard with yourwillpower. Willpower that is used to direct energy should be ratherlike “wanting something a lot” but not like “getting a strangleholdon something, or pushing with a crippling force”. Even when youapply your willpower to attain something you desire, you mustalways be at peace and relaxed.

- 87 -

Page 88: Kuji in Complete 33

3- TOH

Point your thumbs and the last two fingers of bothhands while keeping your index and middle fingersinterlaced inside your hands.

Chakra: Dan-tian, between the Hara and the Solar PlexusMantra jp: On je te ra shi ita ra ji ba ra ta no-o sowakaMantra sk: Om jitraashi yatra jivaratna swaha

By practicing TOH, you will develop your relationship with yourimmediate environment, and eventually with the entire universe. As you practice, begin by filling yourself with energy and then surround yourself with this energy. (This is accomplished by visualizing that it is so). This is the Kuji of harmony. It teaches youto accept the outside events of life while remaining at peace inside.Always breathe deeply inside your abdomen, naturally, withoutstrain.

- 88 -

Page 89: Kuji in Complete 33

4- SHA

Extend your thumbs, index fingers and both littlefingers. Interlace your middle and fourth fingerinside your hands.

Chakra: Solar PlexusMantra jp: On ha ya baï shi ra man ta ya sowakaMantra sk: Om haya vajramaantayaa swaha

With this Kuji, the healing ability of your body is increased. Asyou practice this set, your body will become more efficient in itsdaily rebuilding, healing and reconstruction. This increased healingefficiency is the result of the higher levels of energy passing through your energy channels (Meridians) and your solarplexus. This healing vibration will eventually radiate around you, causing other people to heal as you spend time with them.

- 89 -

Page 90: Kuji in Complete 33

5- KAI

Interlace all of your fingers, with the tip of each fin-ger pressing into the root of the facing finger.

Chakra: HeartMantra jp: On no-o ma ku san man da ba sa ra dan kan Mantra sk: Om namah samanta vajranam ham

This Kuji will raise your awareness and help you to develop yourintuition. The mudra is called “The outer bonds”. The outerbonds are the energy currents that precede every event, if only foran instant. They are the specific influence from the outside worldthat produces every one of your experiences.

Intuition is a powerful ally; it is the way you perceive what yoursenses register from your contact with the environment, and fromthe people surrounding you. This set will increase your intuitionand will help you to learn to love yourself and others.

- 90 -

Page 91: Kuji in Complete 33

6- JIN

Interlace all your fingers, with your fingertips inside, each of them touching the equivalent tip of theother hand’s finger, if possible.

Chakra: ThroatMantra jp: On aga na ya in ma ya sowaka Mantra sk: Om agnayaa yanmayaa swaha

The “inner bonds” are the energy currents inside you that connectyou with your True Self. We have the ability to know what othersare thinking. By reaching deep inside you, into the place with nowords, you may get in contact with this same place in others. When you make this connection you may hear the other person’sthoughts without words, or you may learn to communicate bythought concepts; this is commonly called telepathy.

This mudra is used to open your mind to the thoughts that othersproject from their mental activity. It can help you gain an under-standing of why people do the things they do. If you want todevelop compassion you can use this mudra to enhance yourempathy for others. If you don’t judge what you perceive, you willperceive it with more clarity.

- 91 -

Page 92: Kuji in Complete 33

7- RETSU

Point your left index finger up. Wrap the fingers ofyour right hand around your left index finger. Placethe tips of your right thumb and index finger incontact with the tip of your left index finger. Thefingers of your left hand are gathered into a fist.

Chakra: Jade Gate, at the back of the headMantra jp: On hi ro ta ki sha no ga ji ba tai sowaka Mantra sk: Om jyotihi chandoga jiva tay swaha

After practicing the Kuji-In exercises for some time, they will alteryour perception of gross matter so you will be able to perceive thedifferent flows of energy composing our space-time multi-dimensional universe. Per the theory of relativity, as mass accelerates, time slows, thus if your energy is flowing, and youapply your willpower, your mass accelerates, time slows for youand you can simply change (or direct) the flow/ or motion of yourbody through space.

- 92 -

Page 93: Kuji in Complete 33

Now, put all this theory aside for a moment and let your mindadapt to this new perception of the Universe. Imagine that theatoms of the universe are composed of energy waves instead ofrigid, inflexible solid matter; feel the flexibility of the structure ofthese energy waves. Understand that these energy waves buildyour body. You are being continuously re-created!

- 93 -

Page 94: Kuji in Complete 33

8- ZAI

Touch the tips of your thumbs and index fingers to form a triangle, while your other fingers arespread out.

Chakra: Third EyeMantra jp: On Chi ri Chi i ba ro ta ya sowakaMantra sk: Om srija iva rtaya swaha

srija : sh-ree-j with an almost mute “ee” after the RRtaya: Rutaya with an almost mute “u” after the R

By practicing with this set, you will establish a relationship with theUniversal components of creation: the elements. These elementsare not only physical, they are also spiritual. This Kuji practice is abasis for the power of manifestation. Visualize being in harmonywith nature. Visualize the flow of Qi from nature to you, and fromyou to nature. After a while, notice your increasing awareness thatnature is alive, and that you can communicate with it. Nature willinteract with you within the limits of natural law. Eventually, asyou improve your sensitivity to nature, you might develop the abil-ity to call forth an elemental manifestation, when mastered.

- 94 -

Page 95: Kuji in Complete 33

9- ZEN

Rest your left knuckles on the fingers of your righthand, with your right palm open. Touch the tips ofyour two thumbs gently.

Chakra: CrownMantra jp: On a ra ba sha no-o sowakaMantra sk: Om ah ra pa cha na dhi

Illumination is the highest state of mind. Illumination is a kind ofCompleteness, accomplished by Meditation. By using this practice, you can eventually disappear from the common mind. You are stillthere, of course, but others in the common mind cannot registeryour presence, because your vibration is higher than what theirminds can recognize or interpret as real. To practice, imagine simple emptiness, calm white light everywhere; Then visualizemelding with the white light. It is believed that to the average person you might become invisible.

Many hours of practice are required to elevate your vibration levelenough to manifest the side-effects, like suggestive invisibility.

Notes on making progress:

To make progress with kuji-in, it is a good idea to have a meditation period after every complete practice period. When you“come back” from your meditation, smile and drink a glass ofwater. Do not neglect the smile, whether you feel like it or not.Breathe deeply and relax.

Kuji-In Additional Information

Each Kuji is dependent on the Kuji before it. For example, beforeyou practice the fourth Kuji to enhance your healing abilities, youmust do the third Kuji to produce harmony and circulation in yourintestines and bowels. Before you practice the third Kuji, you mustperform the second Kuji, in order to let energy circulate through-out your body. The second Kuji will open the energetic doorsbetween your neural system and your energetic system on theethereal plane. Before you practice the second Kuji, you must dothe first Kuji to get the raw power to work with, from your baseChakra. This is why all the Kuji practices must be done in theproper order, one after the other. It is also the main reason thattrying to advance too quickly in your practices will not produce asmuch results. If you imagine a long succession of plumbing pipesin series, leading finally to a pond, you can understand that, if youwant the water to flow all the way to the pond, the valves must beopen at every joint. Any restriction, (any valve that isn’t open) willrestrain the flow of water from reaching the next section; ulti-mately, if the valves aren’t opened in the proper order, your pondwill remain empty. The same thing is true of the flow of the Zen.The Zen energy is the water in this analogy. You must open eachvalve (with the correct practice) in the proper succession so thatthe Zen energy flows to the ultimate destination.

This list will give you an idea of the proper and necessary step-by-step process to attain a successful kuji-in experience :

1- RIN accesses power, energy, and awakens your flame.2- KYO circulates the energy in your body, allowing it

to flow in and out.3- TOH gathers energy in your battery (bowels) and

circulates it.4- SHA distributes the energy into the necessary parts

of your body, producing healing.5- KAI allows you to Feel Everything.6- JIN allows you to Know Everything.7- RESTU allows you to Be Aware of Everything.8- ZAI is a process where you become aware that everything

is energy manifested.9- ZEN connects you with the I AM.

The following visualizations are helpful variations of the Kuji-Inthat will make it easier for you to understand more about the functions and manifestations you will become capable of afterworking with these practices. Perform the complete Kuji-In prac-tice, repeating the full prayer as a mantra, gently focusing on thecorresponding Chakra, while keeping the goal of the Kuji held inyour attention, then add the following visualization to your practice. It might seem demanding at first, but please try to simultaneously keep in mind as many aspects of the exercise as possible.

Complete Kuji-In Ritual Practices

First Kuji (RIN): Visualize a red shining light descending fromHeaven into your body, and lighting a flame at your Base Chakra, the region between your anus and your sexual organs. Relax andbegin the visualization, perform the mudra, chant the prayermantra calmly, slowly or quickly, as you wish, (or even at an

accelerating tempo, then come back suddenly to a slower tempo. The Base Chakra is the point where the Sacred flame emerges intoyour energetic body.

Second Kuji (KYO): Pay attention to your Navel Chakra.Visualize your body filling with red light and the red light circulat-ing throughout your entire body and around it. Continue payingattention to your Navel Chakra, never forcing the concentration, but always gently being aware of it.

Third Kuji (TOH): Pay attention to your Dan-tian, and visualizeyour entire bowel region filling with orange and golden light, which is flowing harmoniously throughout your entire bowel system healing your body. The TOH Kuji affects the harmonybetween you and others in your life; it enhances peace in your relationships, the joy of associations and communications, and theharmony available at the emotional level. Do this Kuji to enhanceyour relationships with others, as well as to heal your bowels.

Fourth Kuji (SHA): Pay attention to your Solar Plexus. Visualizeit filling with a golden yellow light, pulsating with strength andpeace. This is the Kuji of healing. It triggers the regeneration ofyour body, and the healing of every physical aspect of your health.

Fifth Kuji (KAI): Focus on your Heart Chakra while you imaginea comfortable blue light everywhere; Your heart is glowing withan intensely calm electric blue, which is so clear and strong that itradiates beyond your body. You are protected, you have intuition.

Sixth Kuji (JIN): Concentrate on your Throat Chakra, surround-ing that area with blue light. Visualize a calm blue light emanatingfrom your throat. Imagine that your body is very big, immense, much more imposing than your actual physical body. See yourselfas gigantically tall, filled with the blue light which entirelyenvelopes you. Remain in this visualization and simply contemplate that you have access to all the knowledge of theUniverse. Perceive the bonds between you and the rest of the cosmic reality: bonds of knowledge and awareness.

Seventh Kuji (RETSU): Pay attention to the area at the back ofyour head, at the base of your skull. You now become aware thattime has no substance, matter has no substance, all is energy, andEVERYTHING is timeless eternity. Find your own simple andabstract visualization.

Eighth Kuji (ZAI): Focus on your Third Eye as you visualizeyourself bathed in violet light. Know that you are the Master ofyour personal Universe, and that you are completely aware of yourimmediate Universe.

Page 102: Kuji in Complete 33

Ninth Kuji (ZEN): Your awareness shifts to and becomes onewith the I AM. You contemplate the truth that: “I am. I am everything. I am everywhere. I am the Void”. Clear your mindtotally and allow yourself to dissolve into the complete, absolute“void” of the Spirit. God is beyond human understanding andperception. Let yourself dissolve into God; empty your mind.

Always meditate for a few minutes after you do a period ofKuji-In techniques. You must rest your mind. Breathe deeply andrelax. Your energetic system will also need to rest. Stay calm, quietand relaxed for a while after each session.

Kuji-In Philosophy

Kuji-In is a prayer, not a do-it-yourself-kit to attain power. SeekLove and Compassion; the power will come by itself. Make a placein your heart for your Spirit to play and attain joy. Make room inyour mind for your Spirit to think and attain peace. The sameapplies to your body, since it is your Inner Temple, that placewhere God resides in you. Your Inner Temple is also the main sitewhere the manifestations resulting from your practice will takeplace.

RIN

It may be hard for you to believe, but the Universal Fire is situat-ed at the base of your own experience: the base Chakra at the tipof your spine. You are all that there is; you simply don’t clearlyunderstand what that means yet. On this path you will learn that,as the Sacred Flame grows brighter in you, it actually rises up yourspine until it fills your entire body.

Breathe deeply and softly. Every inhalation nourishes the flame atyour Base Chakra, encouraging it to fill you with Sacred Fire.Visualize the flame increasing in intensity, giving life to your entirebody. As you are increasingly filled with this Sacred Fire, all theenergy circuitry in your body will repair itself, becoming healthierand more alive as it receives the flow of the Universal Root ener-gy: The Sacred Fire. This is your connection to All That IS.

Each time you make a decision, you will notice that some of yourmuscles tighten with fear. Muscles tighten when you have to makea decision because of the inherent biological fear that the humananimal body holds. The objective of this exercise is to becomeconscious of the fearful nature of the human, animal part of you.Once you are aware of these fears, release them and trust yourself.Self-trust is the key to success in everything.

KYO

What you project towards others, will eventually come back to you(for good or ill) in full measure. This teaches us to keep a constantattitude of peace. Smile. Be joyful in your communications and inyour actions. You will develop peace and joy as you accept it inyourself. You will discover that your experience of your environ-ment will eventually be modified, slowly but surely by the healthyenergy you nurture and project outwards. The Flame of Life willdestroy your old behaviors as you establish new, healthier ways ofacting and being. The ropes of energy that keep you in bondageto those old behaviors will come untied and every bond that keepsyou hostage will inevitably be consumed by the Flame of Life .

As you develop this brand new, amplified, energy managementsystem, you will discover that it is essential to become completelyresponsible for yourself. All that you do, all that you say, will finda way to manifest around you. You will have to learn tolerance andhappiness or you will magnify your negative thoughts and thesewill become manifest as your reality. It is absolutely necessary tostay positive, even in the worst situations. It will be necessary tolearn to feel the normal everyday emotional pains and discomfortswhile remaining positive; to experience those periods of depres-sion we all have and just humbly accept them, without judgment.Keep the eyes of your Heart fixed on the higher plane of life.In fact, you will increasingly experience your growing ability topositively impact the world around you, and to manifest yourdesires, by nurturing healthy energy and projecting it into yourenvironment.

Page 106: Kuji in Complete 33

TOH

Kuji-In must always be performed with an attitude of gratitudetowards the infinite Universe. You must complete each action withrespect. The success of your personal rituals depend on your ability to remain humble before the All, the Great spiritual Reality. When you encounter a huge obstacle, like a rock obstructing yourpath, instead of spending all of your energies trying to remove therock, simply go around it. This way, even if the rock still thinks ithas the power to block your path, you will be back on the road, moving ahead, keeping all your energy for some more useful pur-pose. Be humble on your path. You have nothing to prove to any-one, not even to yourself. Trust yourself, always.

Seek harmony with the Universe around you. When somethingoccurs that upsets you or thwarts your plans, choose an attitude ofcompassion. Do not waste your energy engaging an obstacle inbattle. With a strong mind, heart and body, you may advance onthe evolutionary path with confidence. Even your muscles willbenefit from this positive mental attitude on the path. Themoment you set your mind on something, the Universal energywill always be there to assist you.

SHA

SHA teaches us that unwavering strength is always consistentlyavailable for you. That energy constantly flows into you, ignitingyour Sacred Flame, causing it to rise until it reaches your SolarPlexus, (the energy dispatcher). There is great power in theUniverse, and it is power you can tap into at every moment. Knowthat you are powerful. Know also that, to manifest this power inyour life, you must be ready to assume the responsibility for allyour actions.

The most obvious manifestation of your new ability to circulatepowerful energy, will be the complete healing of your body. Qiand Prana move in your body like rivers of fire and pure light. There are also other manifestations of this inner resource ofpower. Great explosions of energy may occur when you reallyneed them. Remember that you have an equal ability to hurt andheal. This is an awesome power. You must be responsible for youractions. There are severe consequences for any misuse of thispower. In this, the original intention does not matter, only theresult.

- 107 -

Page 108: Kuji in Complete 33

KAI

As you use KAI you will find that this new energy is now circulat-ing with ease; the flow of energy grows and begins to expandbeyond the illusionary boundaries of your body. It is time to listen, time to tune in to your inner ear. You will perceive this outerworld through your inner self only if you are available to receivethe information. If you are convinced that you already know thetruth of existence or that you have nothing to learn from others, you may be building a fence that will eventually prevent you fromseeing what is on the other side. If a fence already exists, allow thefire of your Spirit to burn it to the ground. Intuition will be yourmost powerful guide in this process. It will reveal to you the realtruth about the world that surrounds you, if you stay sensitive andavailable to that information.

When you practice KAI you are linked to nature and to the lawsthat govern the entire Universe. You are not only in contact withthem, you are linked with every living thing, like the threads of atapestry that has been woven together by the Creator of ALL. Youare an active part of the living fabric of the world. If you remainattentive to your immediate surroundings you will be able to practice, on a smaller scale, your ability to be in contact with thelarger Universe. There is only one way to efficiently expand yourenergetic body beyond your physical boundaries; that way is toexpress compassion and love in every circumstance.

- 108 -

Page 109: Kuji in Complete 33

JIN

When you practice the JIN Kuji, you will be able to meet yourHigher Self and make contact with the elevated thoughts of thatmore advanced part of you. There is a special part of your think-ing process, hidden deep inside of you, that does not utilize wordsto communicate. In fact it does not speak in any language thatyour conscious mind understands. This place of “no words” is theplace where you truly communicate, truly think and truly know. This is the place where the Divine is connected to and thinksthrough the human mind. Find the place with no words, and youwill find this Greater Truth.

If you want to send or receive thoughts with your mind, you mustunderstand that the thoughts that travel are not the thoughts thatare phrased in words; the thoughts that travel do not depend onany form of language or system of communication. To listenwithout words is to accept your own inability to really understandthis truth, and to learn to rely solely on your Spirit. Once you findyourself, deep inside, you will become aware of everything thatcomes within your mind’s grasp. Only then can you decidewhether or not you really want to put these concepts back intowords so you can understand the thoughts and images that are fly-ing around in the world outside of you.

- 109 -

Page 110: Kuji in Complete 33

RETSU

The Kuji-In RESTSU will help you to become aware that theUniverse is composed of more than three spatial dimensions.According to modern quantum physics there are nine spatialdimensions and one time dimension, for a total of ten space-timedimensions. To increase your understanding of this greater reality, you must stop believing only what your senses teach you and startlistening to and looking beyond the normal space-time continuumyou are used to accepting as reality. The mysteries of creation willnot remain secret forever if you take these steps. Naturally, yoursenses are necessary in your daily human experience, but when youstart to acknowledge the existence of higher levels of perception, you expand your ability to see/perceive these other dimensions.Meditate to find this place of higher perception. Seek the state oftranscendence, then the state of conscious transcendence.

Space-time is where you seem to exist. In fact, it is actually the place where your Higher Self is experimenting with the experience of life. The dimensions are partitions delimiting thevarious worlds of manifestation, but your Spirit can easily crossthose boundaries, once you understand how. Develop your self-trust and faith. Believe you can do it. Be intelligent enough tonotice your limits so you do not hurt yourself, but be courageousenough to go beyond those limits when you feel able to. Makepeace with your physical limitations, and know that they are notmeant to define your existence, only your immediate experience.

Page 111: Kuji in Complete 33

ZAI

The Elemental world is far more than the physical manifestationof Fire, Wind, Water and Earth. At the core of creation, at themoment of the birth of the Universe, at the highest level of vibra-tion of our Universe, God chose to manifest in many forms. Eachand every Element of Creation is an aspect of the Consciousnessof God. The Elements can be classified as either the FourElements used in Western Esotericism or the Five Elements commonly used in the Oriental Esoteric System. These systemsof classification are there to aid human understanding. The basisof the ability to manifest and create is the knowledge that theElements of Creation are absolute spiritual truths in action. Theyare to be praised as the origin of Creation and to be admired intheir physical manifestation. By developing an attitude of consis-tent praise, you can form a relationship with the Elements ofCreation.

Human beings are always afraid of the unknown. The most disturbing fears we suffer are the fears of the indefinite, the mysterious, the strange and occult: anything we are uncertain ofmakes us edgy. As we gain knowledge, we get a feeling of controlthat encourages us to extend a little (very fragile) trust, but eventhe most innocent unknown truth is always more difficult for thehuman mind to consider than the biggest, but most well knownfalsehood. With faith as your guide, you will not know fear. Theunknown will stop being a dark forest filled with monsters, andbecome a place for you to experience the greatest adventures, andthe brightest truths. When you conquer your fear of the unknown, you will find that it is the hidden doorway to God.

ZEN

ZEN teaches you to surrender yourself absolutely to the Universe. It counsels you to let go of everything you have learned: everybelief, and every thought. Your human ego was a necessary toolthat allowed you to learn certain lessons. Now it is time to releasethat ego, and to remember your smallness compared with the vastVoid that is a creation of the mind of God. Standing tall, lookingtowards the infinite Universe, you are an infinitesimal speck, almost nothing. Put your ego in its place, and allow God to enteryour life. Accept everything: every manifestation, every person, every event, and every creation, as a part of God. God can neitherbe grasped nor understood. God can only be Loved. When youare completely immersed in the Love of God, you will rejoin withyour Divine Self, with your part of the God who made everything. Then, as you calmly contemplate the Infinite Universe, you willrecognize yourself.

Conclusion: No mind

The objective of any meditative practice is to allow your mind toplay with your Spirit, your True Self. The more complete the meditative method, the more physical effects will become apparent to you, and the more quickly your conscious mind willconnect with your Divine Self. When you first connect with yourHigher Self, you may be overwhelmed with higher thoughts.Eventually, your human mind may wish to shut down to makeroom for these higher thoughts; your mind will seek ‘peace ofmind’. Thus, When you allow your mind to be filled, it may behappy at first, until it gets inundated. At that point, simply allowyour mind to shut down and look towards the Divine. As you seekthese higher thoughts and permit them to fill you, you will findpeace.

When you combine all of your preferred practices with the normal activities of your daily life, you make room in your mindfor your Spirit. By using these profound meditations on a regularbasis you will find yourselves maintaining a slightly meditativestate during your other daily occupations. In time, your mind will learn to contemplate Spirit, without engaging any cognitivethinking process. This is the place of “no mind”.

Page 115: Kuji in Complete 33

- 115 -

Never underestimate the power of Joy. Many meditativeapproaches deny the right of the mind to play. These approacheswant to remove the human mind as soon as possible from themeditative process, pushing it out of your contemplation of Godwith force. This will only upset and even damage your mind. Allthe words, the thoughts, the methods, and the different techniqueswe have studied here… all these exercises allow your mind thefreedom to play; when it plays, your mind is happy. Do not removethe toys of the mind too quickly. Let your mind play for as long asit wishes to. When satisfied, like a well fed baby, it will want to restall by itself. Then your mind will be ready to peacefully contem-plate the thought process of your True Self, with no words, nomethods, no techniques, and especially, with no mind.

The path of enlightenment is not an objective to reach, but a process you must experience. If there is any part of the path thatyou overlook, your human mind misses the flavor of that spice, causing you to go through the path again until you have all theingredients that make up the tasteful experience of life. It is notnecessary for you to run through all the glens and shadows of thelight and dark forests that run along each side of the path; However, the path itself must be completely traveled.

Page 116: Kuji in Complete 33

The path to Illumination lies at the foothills of the experience of Joy. Great Joy is awaiting you at every corner, even when you seem to perceive pain. With devotion to yourself, tolerance, and compassion, you will attain Joy, Love, and, in the end,Enlightenment.

In devotion to the evolution of my fellow humans, I respectfullygive you this knowledge in the hope that you will reach the levelof realization you seek. With Love and Compassion, I pray for theDivine to reveal itself to you, the true practitioners of the mostSacred arts.

God Bless You,

History and Variations

The Nine Hand Seals Technique and its related teachings havetheir origins in the Hindu religion where they were initially used bya few groups from the lower castes. These mystical techniqueswere a means used by the monks to bring the virtues of the spiritinto mundane experience. The original form was not as developedas the system we have today. Thus, this historical perspective refersto the origins of the current system, not the modern Nine HandSeals Technique as it exists today. Buddhism came out ofHinduism, and, with it, the Nine Hand Seals Technique becameever more popular. The original mudras remain the same as thosetaught in ancient times, but Buddhist mantras were also added tothe system to enhance it. The original mantras were in Sanskrit. They are invocations and celebrations of the various Buddhas. The Buddhist movement later traveled to China, where the tradi-tion was passed on to the hermetic and esoteric groups extantthere. Boa Pu Zhi, a wise Chinese master, was the first to put thenine hand mudras on paper, in his work published around the 3rdcentury AC. Eventually, the techniques migrated to Japan, alongwith esoteric Buddhism, where the mantras were translated intoJapanese phonetics.

The modern Kuji-In technique is composed of a ritual processcomprising the traditional application of the Buddhist “threesecrets” (mudra, mantra, and mandala). The true Kuji-In secretlies within the contemplation of that philosophy which we use tochange our attitude about life. The goal of Kuji-In practice is not

- 9 -

Page 129: Kuji in Complete 33

to acquire strength, control, healing powers, telepathy, etc... Theseare only side effects of practicing the rituals and focusing a bit onthe governing philosophy. Most people learn the technique simplyto attain one or more of these powerful side effects. By aiming atsuch a mundane goal, their limited focus will ultimately result inthe attainment of 1/10th of what they could have achieved bypracticing Kuji-In to the fullest. The real path of Kuji-In is thequest to know the truth about ourselves. It is a contemplation ofhigher principles, an application of noble behavior to our dailylives, and it requires the mental ability to perceive knowledge thatis not studied, but revealed. Once a revelation occurs, the sideeffects mentioned earlier will develop rapidly and without effort.

A Kuji-In teacher transmits these techniques according to his ownexperience of its revelations. Since the technique was transmittedorally to many different groups, by many different masters, theorganization of the root knowledge remains the same, but the ritual aspect has changed somewhat over time. Thus, there is nodramatic change in the system, because the true knowledge ofKuji-In is acquired through revelation, and the various ritual tech-niques inevitably stimulate the mind towards the same goal, whichis the revelation of truth. As long as the ritual practice is applied, the side effects eventually manifest. The general public sees themanifestation of these side effects as the most obvious sign of theattainment of mastery and generally (and mistakenly) believes thatthey are the intent of these practices.

Some Kuji-In practitioners are adepts of meditation, and, accord-ing to them, the Kuji-In technique is a way to deepen meditation.Other Masters are Adepts of the martial arts, and, for them, the

- 10 -

Page 130: Kuji in Complete 33

Kuji-In techniques build the profound inner powers of the warrior. Sorcerers will say that it develops the ability to manifestmagical phenomena. Peasants and farmers might say it is the technique used to attract good fortune and stimulate good crops! Those who speculate on such matters suggest that there might bearound 4000 different schools practicing these techniques aroundthe world, each transmitting the technique with their own uniquevariations. Some Buddhists use a Qi Gong dance along with the 9 syllables, while others sit still in meditation and use a longer version of the nine mantra prayers. The application of the principles doesn’t matter. As long as the Kuji-In philosophy is theproper foundation of the ritual technique, the desired results willbe attained.

It is crucial to receive the teachings, techniques and philosophy ofKuji-In from a competent teacher. Although you could read thetechnical details of the practice in any book related to this system, only the insight and guidance of an experienced teacher will bringabout an understanding of the attitude that is necessary to stimulate the requisite revelation process in the student. The revelation of such knowledge is not a conscious process and cannot be logically reasoned from the facts at hand. A competentteacher is therefore one who has personally experienced the phenomena of inner revelation repeatedly over a number of years.Although we might also say that a competent teacher has learnedthe techniques by himself (and that would be partially true), itwould shed doubt on the competence of the teacher to suggestthat he or she has ONLY learned these techniques by him or herself. In fact, the most important factor in this learning is theguidance that the practitioner receives in order to attain the state

- 11 -

Page 131: Kuji in Complete 33

of revelation. This revealed knowledge is simply validated by theteacher, so the student does not doubt their first experiences. Lateron, if the student has some competence in pedagogy, and hasacquired enough of a deeper understanding of the technique overthe years to merit it, he might become a teacher himself.

In order to help you to discern a good teacher from a pretender:A competent Kuji-In teacher must believe in God. He meditatesoften, and has done so for many years. He will emphasize theimportance of the philosophy and its contemplation, (not thelower forms of accomplishment). He will have great self-confidence without being egotistical. He will generally be in a stateof harmony, but will accept himself to the fullest even in times ofpersonal turbulence. He will have a passion for life and he willinspire you. He will require an exchange for his guidance, for heknows about the laws of Karma and responsibility. A goodteacher will not brag about his competence. He will tend to keephis spirituality to himself, and for his students. Most of all, we recognize a tree from its fruits. If you are having a fruitful experience from learning with a particular teacher, then thatteacher is competent. When you are certain you have outgrownwhat a teacher can offer you, seek a higher source of knowledge.

Transformational Approach

The kuji-in technique you will learn in this book is the transforma-tional approach. It is a technique that has been thought for ages inspiritual temples, from master to disciple. Although the ritual technique is almost the same as the Japanese Mikkyo tradition, themost important aspect is the personal transformation aspect thatwas more popular in the Indian and Chinese Buddhist version. Ina sense, this technique addresses itself to a large public, since itprovokes a transformation for the holistic healer as well as themartial arts adept. Nevertheless, only a few people will have thecourage and discipline to apply the technique and consider thephilosophical aspects.

This approach of the kuji-in technique is blunt and direct. Itrequires the implication of the complete being, with an attitude ofacceptance and humility. Its core substance is about the transfor-mation of the self, at the level of the body, the mind, and the spirit. We encourage you to ponder each chapter of this bookthoroughly before you go on to the next. Take your time to practice and contemplate the suggested ways of life.

- 13 -

Page 133: Kuji in Complete 33

Invocative Technique

The Kuji-In techniques as they will be shown to you here shouldinitially be practiced in the invocative manner, meaning that theywill utilize an active and lively call for Spirit to become available toour human consciousness. Therefore the invocation is said aloud, while you breathe actively, and while you move; thus a certain sumof energy is put into each aspect of this practice.

With a calm demeanor, without breathing too rapidly, it is recom-mended that, the first time you practice Kuji-In, you manifest yourjoy that you are alive and happy. Vigorously vocalize the mantras,(without shouting). Allow your body to move to the rhythm youset for your practice, even during the seated portions of practice. You may also shake your hands back and forth while holding themudra, and then move your hands back to the fixed position infront of you, at the level you find comfortable.

Before you begin a Kuji-In practice period, stretch your body, drink a bit of water, sit down, and begin the “air and energybreathing” technique. It is essential to perform this techniquebefore every Kuji-In session to ensure it will be maximally effective.

The Air and Energy Breathing Technique

There is a lot of free energy circulating in the air and space aroundyou. This useful energy is called Prana; it is as subtle as air, and itis constantly used by your energetic body. When you inhale, younaturally draw air and Prana into your nose. The air goes downinto your lungs. The Prana takes another route. It travels along theinside of your nasal cavity and up inside the cranial vault. Whenthe Prana reaches the top of your spinal column, it splits and travels down either side of your spine. As you inhale, the air andPrana naturally flow along the correct path, without effort or concentration on your part. Unfortunately, many of us haveobstructions that prevent Prana from flowing to its natural destination. To clear out these obstructions, it is helpful to use thefollowing visualization in concert with the exercise of air and energy (prana) breathing:

- Breathing in, visualize the Prana flowing into your nasal cavity, and then flowing up into the inside of your cranial vault as a 2-3”wide stream of white energy.

- From there it travels to the top of the inside of your cranialbone, to the back of your head, and then splitting to flow downeither side of your spinal column.

- At the tailbone (coccyx) it continues on to your perineum,(the tender spot between your anus and sexual organs) where itcondenses its flow and enters the base chakra.

- 15 -

Page 135: Kuji in Complete 33

Whether you are conscious of it or not, every time you inhale air,Prana travels along at least a part of this path, depending on thehealth of your entire energetic system. Practice this consciousvisualization along with the breathing, with clarity, but withoutstrain. This will help the Prana flow naturally along its designatedpath and will clear any blockages you may have developed in thosechannels. Eventually, you will naturally complete the entire Pranacycle without concentrating on it. As you inhale, your body naturally retains the Prana, even though there is no valve prevent-ing it from being expelled. Thus, it continues to travel up insidethe cranial bone and along the route we have described, to the perineum, where it is absorbed into the base chakra, with each andevery breath. For more information on these channels of energy, you may want to do some extra research on the Ida and Pingalachannels.

It is essential to activate adequate air/Prana circulation throughoutyour body to get everything working correctly. When Prana flowsproperly, it fuels the fire in the base chakra. The fire in the basechakra flares up like a flame, and does not die down to its originallevel for some time, even after you finish this exercise. Fanning theflame at the base charka markedly enhances the Kuji-In awakening process. Each time you exhale, only air (mostly carbondioxide) is expelled; the Prana remains in the body and continuesto flow naturally without any mental effort on your part.

RIN

RIN Way of Life

You have the right to live. Every time you let yourself believe youdo not have the right to live, to be, to act, you are telling theUniverse that you prefer being the victim of your own life events.Stand up, be confident and declare your own right to live.

On the other hand, do not give yourself permission to act arrogantly, or to say that you are better than anyone else. If youmake such comparisons, you are asserting that there are differentlevels of the right to live, or that some people are more entitled tolife, or have more right to breathe than others. When you makethose kinds of comparisons, you destroy your own right to live, tobe, and to feel good about yourself.

From time to time, we all give in to the tendency to admit to ourselves that we think we are better than everyone else. Yet, thiserroneous thinking reinforces the negative aspects of your ego. Ifyou want to achieve true self confidence, you must abandon allattempts at comparing the value of human life. Thus, you may certainly express your various preferences, preferring apples overcherries, or the color pink to the color blue, but it is crucial to thedevelopment of full self consciousness that you never judge others as less worthy of life than you.

Only God can judge a human being and His judgment is always:I LOVE YOU!

- 17 -

Page 137: Kuji in Complete 33

Once you start trusting yourself, practice projecting this trust intolife. Say to yourself, “Life takes care of me, I trust life”. Eventually, this practice will lead you to have faith, the awareness that Godtakes care of you every moment, and that you can let go of yourfears and worries; you are never alone and God supports all ofyour actions. If He did not, you would simply cease to be.

In fact, as a human being, you don’t really have any control overexactly what happens in your life, but you do have the power ofchoice. By following these techniques, you will gain the tools toinfluence the outcome of events in your life, and eventually, youwill also develop the power to manifest events more as you desirethem to be. You still won’t have any direct control over the outcome of events in your life; you will simply learn to trust life, and to have faith. Faith releases Divine energy into your body andfuels all other spiritual activities.

RIN Technique

Extend your two middle fingers and interlace allother fingers.

Chakra: BaseMantra jp: On baï shi ra man ta ya sowakaMantra sk: Om vajramanataya swaha

Visualize a flame at your base chakra, which grows brighter eachtime you inhale air and Prana. The circulation of air and Pranainto your body ignites and fans the flame. Strangely, the flamedoes not go out immediately, even after you stop this exercise; theprocess seems to be self sustaining. When you exhale, vocalize theKuji-In prayer three times (3). It is at the inhalation that the flameflares up. Visualize the flame growing until your whole body seemsto be filled with this spiritual fire. This is the first Key of RIN.With this sacred technique, 90 complete breaths (1 breath = 1inhalation and 1 exhalation) set your body on fire. You can beginwith 9 complete breaths, (that is 27 mantras), but to gain the fullpotential of the RIN Kuji, and start the path, you will have to perform the complete set 90 times every few days until you havecompletely mastered the technique, and you feel the energy

- 19 -

Page 139: Kuji in Complete 33

strongly inside of you. In the first few breaths, the RIN fire simultaneously grows in the base chakra and fills your lower bodyand legs. As you complete the set, the RIN fire covers your entirebody, legs, arms, and then extends a bit beyond your body (aboutone inch from the exterior surface of your skin). A bit of darkblue smoke may be seen when a part of your body is set on firefor the first few times. After that, you may see a very little bit ofwhite smoke. Allow the smoke to drift up unnoticed; do not spendany energy attending to it.

Page 140: Kuji in Complete 33

Physical vs. Spiritual Enhancement

You must give up the belief that the physical body is not spiritual,or that the spirit is in some other place or dimension. We use theterms physical and spiritual to describe different aspects of ournature, but these different aspects both exist at the same time, andin the same place in you, simply on different energetic levels. Yourspiritual, astral, energetic, and physical bodies are the same uniquething. They are all on the same frequency scale, differing only bytheir rate of vibration. Thus, anything you do on the spiritualplane flows directly down into the physical plane whether youwant it to or not. Therefore, Kuji-In is a spiritual technique thatyields quite powerful physical results. The RIN Kuji techniquedevelops your ability to generate sustained energy circulation, oreven intense bursts of energy when needed. This practiceenhances your willpower, your mental determination, and even theelectro-magnetic output of your nervous system. IF you strainwith all your might to lift something, your nervous system sendsout energy to your muscles to provide the necessary outputstrength. A normal human being’s nervous system can deliverabout 30% bio-electric energy to their muscles. When the RINtechnique is competently performed, you can double the output ofbio-electric energy to 60%, thus doubling your strength. You willstill have to do some physical training to get your muscles used tohandling this much of a load of energy; the delivery of 100% ofyour potential energy to your muscles would damage the tendonsand is not a goal of this technique. Some Masters, especially in themartial arts, practice bone and tendon Qi Gong. They can lift 800pounds in an instant and deliver powerful and deadly blows withtheir fists. If you can lift 200 pounds, and you do any form of

- 21 -

Page 141: Kuji in Complete 33

muscle conditioning (body building) to increase your strength to400 pounds, you can use the RIN technique to double it again to800 pounds. Of course, you won’t accomplish that by just usingthe RIN technique for a few hours here and there, you have to giveit time to work on your body. This was an example application.

RIN has many other useful applications, some which are not obvi-ous to the beginner. One thing is certain, if you do not developyour proficiency with the RIN technique, all the other Kuji-Intechniques will lack the fuel they need; the available energy for theother techniques will simply be inadequate to make them useful. Ifyou want to use these techniques to heal others with the SHAtechnique for example, the improved energy circulation that RIN,KYO and TOH provide are mandatory before SHA can be uti-lized effectively. RIN will give you the strength you need at everylevel, because your spirit does not see any difference among yourphysical, ethereal, astral, mental, causal, soul, and spiritual ener-getic selves, aside from the variable frequencies they each repre-sent. Everything that comprises you is one single entity with adense physical body at the lowest frequency.

- 22 -

Page 142: Kuji in Complete 33

A Quick Burst of Energy

If you ever need a quick burst of physical energy, you may applythis simple technique, once you have the RIN fire coursingthrough you. This technique will be totally useless to anyone whodoes not practice the Kuji-In system you are learning.

Get the RIN fire coursing through you in 3 breaths, then focusjoyful energy into your base chakra, spreading it throughout yourentire body. Joy is the foundation of life, and releasing this emo-tion will trigger a vigorous energy flow. Next, tense every musclein your body and hold that tension for 3 seconds. Tensing yourmuscles will condense the energy, pooling it for your use. Then, release the tension without relaxing your muscles completely andhold that for 3 seconds, and then tense and hold for 3 secondsagain. Joy is life, and the increase in life energy in your system willcause your internal energy to circulate more vigorously. Thispumping (tense-release) action floods your body with bio-availablephysical energy. Repeat this sequence several times. With each repetition imagine that you are pulling higher and higher levels ofvibrations into your body. It is almost as if the energy squirts intoyour system, as might squeeze juice from a lemon or orange intoa glass. You fill yourself up with this delicious energy and it isnourishing and filling. Stretch your body; open your eyes wide;look up for 3 seconds and take a deeeeep breath. Look down andtake another deeeeep breath.

- 23 -

Page 143: Kuji in Complete 33

Resumed:Three (3) complete inhalations reactivates the RIN Fire in yourbody. Three (3) seconds of the pumping action (tensing andreleasing your muscles) condenses your bio-available energy.Stretch your body again; keep your eyes opened, breathe while youlook up and then down. Do not relax, after all, you asked for moreenergy!

KYO

KYO Way of Life

To activate the abilities of the KYO level technique, you shouldcontemplate the following facts:

- You receive from life what you put into it.- Every action you perform has a consequence.- Everything you do sends out energy that will eventually return- There is no good or evil, only action-reaction.- You are responsible for everything that happens to you.- You are the Master of your life.

A person must actively perform good and responsible actions fora long time before the (seemingly) bad luck stops manifesting. There are also consequences that come to you as ‘awkwardevents’, which are a result of the actions of your subconsciousmind. You may believe that you have been good and responsiblein your actions; however, bad luck, and disturbing events are notalways a punishment for misbehavior or irresponsible actionwhich comes about as a consequence of karmic law. Sometimesthese disturbing events are simply the result of the actions of yoursubconscious mind, which can be triggered into bringing these dif-ficult events into your life when you dwell on the belief that youdon’t deserve to live, the belief that you are a bad person, thebelief that you do not have value., etc… Rather that perpetuatethis thinking and its destructive effects on the subconscious, it ispossible to use these experiences as a life transforming tool. You

- 25 -

Page 145: Kuji in Complete 33

begin this process when you accept that you are responsible foreverything that happens in your life, whether you know it or not.

It may be hard to believe but you are the absolute Master of yourlife. Yet, how can you become powerful if you are continuouslysustaining the belief that things in your life are constantly out ofyour control; that you have no effect on your life circumstances? To come to grips with your true nature, you must begin to strug-gle with the appearances that create this illusion. That illusion isyour physical mask. You must grapple with it. Thus, it would becorrect to say that there are events that occur for reasons you don’tunderstand, and there are certainly energies and events set inmotion around you that you are not consciously aware of, but thenyou are not yet fully conscious, and you must grasp that you areactually the Master of everything that happens to you, whetheryou KNOW it, or not. You may feel powerless about all of this atthe beginning, and that is natural. It is essential to reprogram yourthinking so you take responsibility for everything that happens toyou. If you do not believe this; if you do not practice this, you willnot gain the power to manifest what you truly want. As long as youhold on to the victim-stance programming you are currently using, you will be blaming others or life or circumstances for what manifests in your life. As soon as you realize that your change ofmental attitude will ultimately have a positive effect, the temporarysetbacks and hindrances can be dealt with, without giving in to selfdefeat and victim stance.

KYO Technique

Extend your index fingers and bend your middlefingers over your index fingers so that the tip ofyour thumbs are touching. Interlace all your otherfingers.

Chakra: Hara/NavelMantra jp: On isha na ya in ta ra ya sowakaMantra sk: Om ishaanayaa yantrayaa swaha

The first part requires an exchange of energy between the innerand outer energetic bodies at the level of the navel chakra (2 inch-es below your navel, inside your body). Visualize white light flow-ing outward in every direction from the navel chakra, at the sametime that white light energy is flowing into your navel center. Thesystem we are describing here involves a complete circuit: input, circulation of energy – and output. This can be visualized as a single sphere with bi-directional flow, which extends out fromyour body just a few feet. Your inner navel is the center of thesphere (where energy comes in). You may visualize the light flowing more intensely at the front and back of your body, wherethe navel chakra has its entrance. (You might think of this as an

- 27 -

Page 147: Kuji in Complete 33

input port, if that helps). Maintain the visualization and sensationof the RIN fire burning throughout your entire system as a background, but don’t concentrate on it. Focus your attention onthe continuous inflow and outflow of energy from your navelchakra, which then condenses into a sphere around you, and aglowing energy center inside of you. Visualize this white lightflowing in and out of you, purifying your exchanges of energywith the Universe. Breathe deeply and relax. When you inhale, focus on the flow of energy into you. When you exhale, chant thefull mantra prayer three times.

Page 148: Kuji in Complete 33

Conscious Evolution with Kuji-in

When you are consistently performing the philosophical contemplation described above, you will begin to see changes inyour personal life. Everyone has tiny balls of clogged energy thatobstruct one or more of their energetic channels. Your use of theKuji-In techniques will enhance your spiritual experience by safely and effectively clearing out those obstructions, one or moreat a time. The material that was clogging your channel is thenreleased, sent back to the Universe. Eventually, some of this dispersed energy may re-manifest the events that lead to whatevercaused the blockage in the first place, offering you an opportunityto resolve this issue once and for all. Thus, even though the energy ‘clogs’ are dispersed into the Universe, they can result inthe reappearance of previous trials and life-challenges if you havenot mastered the karmic lesson associated with them.

Kuji-In is a process that allows you to release the detritus ofhuman experience. The side effect of this release is that youbecome more powerful, but the primary goal is always to evolve.Once you rid yourself of energetic obstructions, you may stillexperience a few of these karmic occurrences, but they willinevitably be an event that you can resolve promptly, or an eventyour Super Conscious chose for you, in order to experiment andhave new experiences in your life. In every case, you will becomestronger. However, Kuji-In is not a technique that will give ahuman being Supernatural powers for the sake of their ego, orbecause of a human lust for power. Kuji-In is not intended to provide an ego-boost, and, in many instances can be quite hard onthose with fragile egos: those who dwell in vanity, with the

- 29 -

Page 149: Kuji in Complete 33

arrogance of false superiority. Rather, Kuji-In triggers an expansion of consciousness, which naturally leads to the evolutionwe have been describing. As you evolve, you will soon discoverthat the distressing events that you were hoping to resolve actually occur more frequently, sometimes following one anotherin rapid succession. These challenging events manifest morequickly, so you can evolve more quickly. If you currently feel overwhelmed by bad luck or bad karma, slow down; take the timeyou need to resolve each situation that emerges, one at a time.Kuji-In is meant to make this process easier, you will get overwhelmed only if you take on too much. Develop faith, andlearn to trust in life with RIN. Develop personal responsibilitywith KYO. This will make your life easier.

If you find that there are a lot of negative events occurring in yourlife, take a bit of time to do the KYO Kuji. Contemplate the concept that you are responsible for (you are the inner cause of)everything that happens, while making the energy flow in/out atthe level of the navel chakra. Even if you don’t know the innercause at the moment, by allowing yourself to be open to the concept that these painful or frustrating events come from you,the problem will be easier to resolve. If the event has been hovering on the verge of manifestation, it is also more likely tobecome an actual fact. Once it is actually manifested, you willnotice that you have the tools to easily resolve it.

- 30 -

Page 150: Kuji in Complete 33

A Word About Responsibility

RIN utilizes a process of enhancing self-trust and faith. It shouldnever be invoked to evade personal responsibility for anything. Ifyou become aware of a problem and you choose to ignore it underthe pretext that, “Life will take care of itself ”, well… Life will takecare of you alright. You may lose everything and become a beggar,… but Life will have taken care of you, according to yourown dictates. If you demonstrate a lack of respect for your ownpersonal self worth through your failure to act, then you will manifest inaction and lack of value. As the KYO process teachesus, if you exhibit personal value and responsible action, then youwill be responsible for causing what you desire to manifest (positively). You must act in accordance with your desires.

Yet, even if you work very hard at putting these principles intoaction, if you do not believe that Life will take care of you, responsible action may manifest as constant challenges to yoursecurity. Even when you begin to exhibit responsible action andtrust in Life, it will take quite a while to manifest what you want ifyou do not have the RIN attitude of faith set firmly in place. These techniques build upon each other, and mastery of one tech-nique helps you do well at the next. Thus, mastery means havingeach technique solidly established as part of your life, so thatresponsible action will help you manifest abundance in all aspectsof your life (if you have faith that Life will take care of you).

Some people call this process transmuting karma; others refer to it as transcending the human experience. I call it transmuting emotion, for it is at the emotional level where the transcendence

- 31 -

Page 151: Kuji in Complete 33

occurs. You can use your conscious mind to penetrate and absorbthe emotional content and meaning of your experiences, to absorband digest them, so they become the nutrients that help you toevolve.

An emotion cannot be transmuted by actively wishing it to goaway, or trying to get rid of it. Whatever experience you are deal-ing with occurred so you might become aware of your deepestemotions, to face them and absorb them. It is only by becomingconsciously aware of the full range of our emotional experiencesthat we will be able to transmute these experiences and use themto help us evolve. Our Super-consciousness intentionally experi-ments with (allows us to experience) these different life situationsand difficult emotions, so our souls can taste life in all its wonderand misery. Our Super-consciousness is exposing us to these experiences so the conscious mind can “wake up” and becomeaware of its own existence. Therefore it is not our task to flee suchexperiences, nor, contrarily, to seek them out. Life will bring whatwe need to us. The transmutation process cannot occur if we areself-absorbed in dread, fear and worry. Those emotions only leadto avoidance. This transmutation requires the that we take the firststeps in learning that life will provide what we need, and we havewhat we need to penetrate, absorb and digest these events so thatthey result in our evolution.

Page 152: Kuji in Complete 33

TOH

TOH Way of Life

TOH is the Kuji attributed to harmony, but why is that?

At this level, you are encouraged to center yourself in your innerdan-tian (inside your belly), and to adopt an attitude of humility, tolerance and adaptation.

When an outside force impinges upon you, you can either resist, creating a conflict and a possible impasse, or you can bow to it,adapting your outer shape to the incoming force, yielding to it.When you accept the flow of power without rigid resistance;when you humbly adapt to its flow, you will remain in a state ofharmony.

Consider a little stream of water that is trying to run its coursebetween two mountains. Even if a giant boulder fell into thestream, obstructing its flow, the stream would not complain to therock “Move out of the way!” and attempt to force the boulder outof its way. If the power of the rock to remain is greater than theforce of the water to move it, the water will humbly flow underthe rock and around its sides until it passes again on its way. Eventhough the rock tries to damn up the water, the water does notfight the rock. It remains in a state of harmony and keeps flowingon its own way, with humility.

- 33 -

Page 153: Kuji in Complete 33

Learn to tolerate what is going on around you, and if it seems toaffect you, humbly adapt your attitude to the new parameters. There are other times when the force of the water is much greaterthan any rock, but TOH is not that time and place. TOH is a stateof harmony which you maintain with tolerance, humility and aspirit of forceless adaptation.

If you drop a small rock into a pond of water, the ripples willcome and go. Eventually, because of the flexible and adaptive stateof water, the pond will return to a peaceful mirror-like state, contemplating itself, contained in its earthly bed. Thus, the lessonof water is to peacefully contain yourself while you adapt to yourenvironment. If you learn this lesson properly you will always bein a state of harmony and you will always have ample energyreserves.

Let’s add an important detail here. If a train is coming towardsyou, please don’t just stand there while happily believing you arepeacefully accepting everything that happens, and that your bodywill adapt to the new parameters of the incoming shock. The wisechoice is to adapt your physical position and get out of the waybefore it is too late. If there is a lot of arguing going on aroundyou or someone is contentious with you, adapt your tolerance, negotiate as best you can, find a solution, and take whateveractions you must to resolve the situation. Adaptation does notrequire that you endure persistent stupidity; adaptation meansmoving when you need to, changing your diet when it is time, exercising to keep your body healthy, and so on. Adaptation doesn’t mean adopting a slavish attitude toward someone else’spoint of view, or allowing yourself to get run over by a train.

- 34 -

Page 154: Kuji in Complete 33

It means adapting your understanding and point of view to the situation, and using the least amount of energy to flow in harmony with the forces around you, while holding firm to yourinner truth. If something threatens your life, preserve your life andhealth in any way you can.

TOH Technique

Point your thumbs and the last two fingers of bothhands while keeping your index and middle fingersinterlaced inside your hands.

Chakra: Dan-tian, between the Hara and Solar PlexusMantra jp: On je te ra shi ita ra ji ba ra ta no-o sowakaMantra sk: Om jitraashi yatra jivaratna swaha

In your abdomen, among the intestines, there is a fluid substanceat the physical level and a plasma fluid at the energetic level. Thisfluid acts like our standard battery acid, and is able to gather andstore energy reserves. Your entire intestine/bowel region is filledwith this energy gathering plasma. When you inhale, the oxygenrich air blows gently on the fire at your base chakra, causing thisfire to flow thru your entire body; at the same time, your abdomenalso fills with energy. Energy is actually flooding you from everywhere all the time, and this part of your body is constantlygathering and storing that energy, just like a battery. Whether youbreathe in or out, the flow is continuous. There are no limits to the

- 36 -

Page 156: Kuji in Complete 33

energy you can gather; an overflow is welcome. Your body willknow what to do with this energy reserve, so don’t be afraid to fillit. Never apply force, simply use your mind to visualize it enteringand collecting, and it will fill up all by itself. Your body doesn’tneed much encouragement to do this, since that is its natural purpose. The energy is white when it enters and it takes on a littlegolden shade as it condenses within your body, filling your reservesystem with healthy golden, glowing energy. Do not put any effortinto immobilizing the energy. Your body naturally knows how touse it, and it might tap into the first reserves the moment you fill yourself (if you are not used to taking the time to refill yourreservoir).

After a few minutes, focus your concentration on filling up theenergy reservoir in your abdomen. At the same time, let the outside world go, and begin to lose yourself in your body, as if youwere wrapping yourself in a cocoon. Simply place your conscious-ness into your abdomen; don’t worry about taking on some particular shape. Enjoy containing your consciousness in yourbody and isolating yourself from the outside world. Your gravitycenter is in your abdomen. Your life center is in your abdomen.Fill yourself with life, contain yourself as life.

This is the most important part of the TOH technique. Know thatyou are life. You are inside yourself, and you are not a simplehuman thing or mundane object, you are Life. Fill yourself withthese flows of energy and be aware you are this life-giving-energy.If there is a flame going thru you (let’s say it comes from the base

- 37 -

Page 157: Kuji in Complete 33

chakra) then it fills you with life when it passes thru your body, andyou become this life as consciousness. If energy flows around andthroughout your entire being, then it fills you and you are thatenergy. If you are life, then your consciousness of yourself, whichfills you all by itself, will continuously enhance your awareness ofyourself as life. Be at peace, you are Life contained within yourself.

- 38 -

Page 158: Kuji in Complete 33

Emotional Transmutation

The emotional transmutation technique should not be done excessively. It can be demanding at first, so just begin by doing itonce or twice to get the feel of it. Someday when you feel likeexploring your emotional world, you may return to this exerciseand practice emotional transmutation more often. You may evenwait many years before you perform it regularly, it doesn’t reallymatter. Someday, you will feel the need to use this technique. When you do, you will double your Kuji-In efficiency. Until then,a lot of things can enhance your Kuji-In efficiency, so it’s ok toprefer one technique over another. It is important to try each technique at least once, and then you should focus on the mainKuji-In thread (the attitude/practice combination).

Now that you understand self-trust and how to abide in faith(RIN); now that you are responsible for what happens and you canactivate evolutionary experiences in your life (KYO); now that youknow you are within yourself as consciousness, as life (TOH), youmight want to know how to process all these new experiences.

When a disturbing experience occurs and you want to resolve it,first take all the necessary physical actions that you must, in orderto correct the situation, then you can always work at the emotion-al level to go thru the entire experience using consciousness topenetrate the experience and absorb it; by this means you candigest the experience and transform it, thus releasing the need for

the experience to manifest physically again and again. This is whatsome teachers call “the transmutation of karma” or “transcendingthe human experience”. I call this the Transmutation of Emotion.

An emotion is not transmuted by actively wishing it to go away, ortrying to get rid of it. Every experience occurs so that you maybecome aware of it; it is only by consciously becoming aware ofthe full experience that the emotion will be transmuted andreleased as a new (higher) experience. We experiment with emo-tions so that the soul can taste life and so that consciousness canknow its own existence. We must not flee from painful or difficultemotions, yet we must not intentionally provoke pain either. Thisprocess cannot take place while you listen to the inner voice andits natural fear of feeling pain. You will have to be courageous andgo beyond your fear; have faith, release control over the emotion-al pain and become aware of the emotion without engaging it inany way.

The Transmutation Technique

Begin the Transmutation Technique by selecting some recentevent that you feel guilty about or perhaps some event that left youfeeling rejected. You may choose any memory, whether in yourrecent or remote past, as long as it is not an experience you associate with overwhelming painful emotions of any kind. Beginwith this problematic, but bearable emotion, so you can do theemotional work and still be able to follow along with these threesimple steps. Remember that you only need to understand andpractice these steps in order to get acquainted to them.

First step (inner contact): Refresh your memory of the emotionand the situation linked to it. Take a deep breath and feel this emotion without limitation. It is in your belly, within you, and youcan feel it more and more. Do not amplify it from your normalstance as the victim of this emotion, instead, listen to it, feel what-ever it brings up for you, taste its flavor, accept its shape and formand how it defines itself (even if that is different than how youwere defining it), contemplate it, and hold it within you. Be atpeace and relive the emotion for a few breaths, up to one fullminute. Be at peace. Later in your training you may perform thiswith some more powerful emotions. For now, just enjoy peaceful-ly contemplating the positive change you just made.

Sometimes, you may feel the need to express an emotion outward-ly, in order to release some pressure that seems to be building up.On those occasions, (and this is not to be done frequently),simply release what you need to let go of, but never lose controlover this experiment. When you are just learning these techniques,

- 41 -

Page 161: Kuji in Complete 33

it is too easy to revert to victim stance, and to begin amplifyinghow terrible the situation is. Remember that you are practicing justbecoming aware of the emotion. When you are unable to bear theintensity of an emotion, you may release some of the pressure onyou; then just continue on with the process. It is obviously not thegoal to keep this emotion trapped inside of you, or buried; ratherit is the goal of this exercise to release the hold you have on it.Thus it is perfectly fine to perform the process while expressingsome normal human emotion. Simply keep track of the experiment without losing your grip on the process. Breathe intoyour abdomen throughout the entire process. Do not breathefrom your upper torso. Hold the situation that caused the emotionin your mind while you feel the emotion.

Second step (integration): Get inside the emotion and followwherever it leads you. Breathe deeply and comfortably. As the airflows into your abdomen, your task, as consciousness, is to penetrate the emotion and let it absorb you. Be aware of all thefeelings that entering this emotion evokes for you, whether youfeel pain or emptiness, coldness or heat, anger or sadness, getinside of it and become it. The process of Integration requires aconscious fusion of you and the emotion. You are going to allowyourself to be enveloped within the emotion; to be integrated byit. For a few minutes, breathe and accept, breathe and become, breath and feel. Follow the path this emotion leads you on, andyou will notice that most of the time, the emotion will be cover-ing another emotion that is buried beneath it.

- 42 -

Page 162: Kuji in Complete 33

Every emotion arises into our consciousness because it is linkedwith some human experience. Use your mind to follow theseexperiences from the past so that you can remember what happened. You might run thru a few events (while following youremotions), until you come to the first time in your life that you feltthat emotion. Stay focused. Do not jump from one thread toanother; trace one experience to its root cause, following onethread at a time. As you allow the emotions to exist, without avoiding them or rejecting them, the emotion is freed up, and theenergy associated with it ceases to be trapped; the emotion is aliveagain, emancipated. When you stop blocking it and permit it toBE, your consciousness can understand the profound essence ofthat emotion.

During the exercise of becoming the emotion, this previouslyproblematic feeling will be re-set to a peaceful, natural state andyou will get an abstract but clear understanding of your humanexperience. You are what you experience, as consciousness, asspirit, as life. Do not rush through your experience of this step.Allow the penetrating fusion to continue for a while, until there isno pain associated with the emotion, but only the experience of it.Conscious breathing will also naturally relax your hold on theemotion until it is released. Please understand that the emotionwill not leave you, it will simply be free to remain inside of youwithout any of the previous negative associations. Always consciously push past your fear of pain; never push away the emotion. With your mind, consolidate the entire experience, whichis comprised of all of the life events that made it; breathe and beconscious within that entirety.

- 43 -

Page 163: Kuji in Complete 33

The human ego has strong natural defense systems. Many times, the emotion is not blocked all by itself. Instead, the human egokeeps control over it, out of arrogance, vanity, jealousy, and envy, the ego refuses to allow the emotion the right to be resolved, allbecause of pride. You have to be in charge of this experiment andrelease the mental hold you keep on your emotion. You simplyhave to let go.

Third step (liberation): When you feel completely saturated withthe emotion you are working on, when your consciousness hastransmuted it into a living experience, that emotion (and all theenergy that was trapped with it) is freed up. It is not released out-side of you, it is available to you again, and all the power andpotency of the emotion is alive for you again. The heavy, dense orcontracted energy that was troubling you is released in that it isconverted into its essence, and dissolved in your higher conscious-ness. A good feeling will naturally bubble up from within you. Youmay feel deeply satisfied, or you may experience a profound stateof peace, or you may feel the emancipating joy of freedom.Breathe and allow this new feeling of joy to fill you up; release thispositive emotion if you wish to (go ahead and laugh).

After this transmutation, the most important thing for you to dois to contemplate the wholeness of the experience as joyful lifeand happiness. Even if your physical human experience did notseem to change at all, your inner experience of it became one withyour consciousness. Do not let your human ego steal this momentfrom you. It is crucial for you to rejoice within yourself, for yourhave tasted life at its fullest.

Sample Application

A few days before I began writing this book, I was struck withinsecurity. I did a bit of RIN level Kuji, breathing in while focus-ing a bit on the fire visualization but mostly concentrating on thephilosophy that “Life takes care of me, I am not alone, God iswith me, and I trust life”. I allowed myself to release my controlover that feeling. I used Kuji-In to get in touch with the aspect Iwanted to work on, and then I stopped the specific Kuji-In practice so I could concentrate on emotional transmutation.

At each in-breath, I let myself feel the emotion, completely awareof it, allowing myself to feel every sensation that came up, and toabsorb the ‘flavor’ of these feelings. In order to get underneaththe fear, I went down to the emotion of feeling abandoned. I satwithin the emotion of abandonment in a state of completeacceptance for some time. I felt sad about the abandonment. Ittook a few minutes before I got to the depth of my sadness. Mygoal was to be conscious of it, without struggling against it, or trying to change it. I followed the experience deeper, and deeper, only to discover that I was afraid of not having enough money. Inmy early 20’s I experimented with being a beggar. Each day Ihoped to eat, and I came to understand that life is very hard. A fewminutes later, after I had questioned myself more and more extensively as to why I had to go through the experience of beinga beggar, I sought to remember some time in the more distant pastwhen I had felt this same emotion. I remembered my brotherstealing my toys and I suddenly realized that was when I startedbelieving life would not give me what I want.

- 45 -

Page 165: Kuji in Complete 33

As I accepted that I have no control over my life, sitting in thatknowledge and understanding it for quite a few breaths, the insecurity gradually dissolved and the emotion disappeared. Infact, it did not actually go away; it was transmuted into trust. Thus,I came to understand the entire experience, and the emotionbecame what I sought, thanks to the wonderful process ofevolution.

It can take years of suffering for a normal human being to graspthe essence of a single lesson, and this process is rarely accom-plished consciously. This lack of conscious understanding permitsthe negative events to re-emerge over and over. With consciousintegration of an emotional experience, a few hours, sometimeseven a few minutes are enough to release the entire experience foryou. Sometimes the experience does re-emerge again later, butonly to be integrated at another level, and again, only a smallamount of time is necessary to transmute it, compared to the natural evolution process. Some people resolve one karmic eventevery 10 years. Most cannot resolve more than a few lessons intheir lifetime. Evolutionary beings can resolve these experiences‘in bulk’ every once in a while, each time making their life easierand happier.

- 46 -

Page 166: Kuji in Complete 33

Responsibility vs. Guilt

If you feel something weighing on your mind, it is recommendedthat you apply physically responsible actions in order to resolvethe situation physically, whenever possible. There will be a fewthings that are too broken to fix, like a damaged, but irreplaceablevaluable. Whether an actual resolution is possible or not, apply theConscious Transformation Technique and begin the EmotionalTransmutation to allow yourself to feel the emotions related tothis situation. You need to become aware of the emotions at thelevel of your soul in order to bring everything related to this expe-rience up to consciousness, including dredging up any incidentswhere it could have originated in your past. You will use theConscious Evolution Technique (Emotional Transmutation is thecornerstone of this process) to solve this problem at the soul level, where it originated. Using this soul level technique will make it easier for you to work out problems on the physical level, if anyaction is required. It will also free you from the paralyzing emotion of guilt.

The KYO technique is not designed to make you take on anyresponsibility for the things that happen to everyone else. It is atechnique of personal-responsibility that deals with the sum totalof everything that you experience. If what you are experiencingtouches other people, then they also have to take the responsibili-ty for their experience of that situation. In any case, never disregard your responsibility by saying “it’s not my problem” if theexperience is yours.

- 47 -

Page 167: Kuji in Complete 33

The KYO philosophy does not imply that “everything is myfault”. The concept of fault and responsibility are two differentthings. Fault is maintained by an emotional attachment to guilt.Guilt is result of a self-judgment that you have been refusing tobecome conscious of. When we look at the concepts of fault andguilt, we see that the human ego tends to play the victim for whathappened and wants to sink into the self-abusive, self-defeatingshame of what it did. This creates a war against the self, which ismaintained in order to prevent conscious awareness. Consciousawareness at every level is mandatory for personal evolution andtransformation.

A responsible person does not suffer long from any experience, because he or she refuses to dwell in an emotional puddle, wherethe ego gets caught playing blinding games of denial.Responsibility is guilt free. It is an acceptance that the process ofmanifestation of experiences originates from a desire on the partof your Spirit to experience a particular life lesson through theevents currently available in your circumstances. Responsibilityrequires acknowledging that everything happens because of aninner cause. This inner cause is inside you just waiting to be discovered. When you master this law, you will be able to consciously manifest what you want, but acknowledging your personal responsibility is a prerequisite to mastery. In any situationthat brings up an emotion or triggers a reaction from you, the firstthing to do is accept your responsibility for the experience andtake a deep breath to become aware of what is going on inside you(emotion, reaction, thought).

- 48 -

Page 168: Kuji in Complete 33

Take the time to develop this technique into a reflex. When an emotion rises, make it a reflex to automatically breath-in inorder to embrace the experiences and feel the emotion. Theactions you take from that point on will be more conscious andmore powerful at every level.

SHA

SHA Way of Life

There is a good reason why the step before (TOH) is a contem-plation of humility and tolerance. You are blessed with free-will,with the power to act and to accomplish whatever you wish. However, you must never think that you can harm others with your right to act. While you are not free from the moralresponsibility that comes with your decision to act, and from therequirement that you respect others, you are absolutely free tomake your own life-choices. As you become more and more powerful, you will feel this self-confidence in your guts. Do notslip into the habit of comparing yourself to others (building your-self up by putting others down), or ever looking down on anyone.

Any type of superiority complex you have will rise as you advance,it is inevitable. It is a normal part of this evolutionary path thatyour animal and ego reflexes will reveal themselves to you. Do notfight to repress them; neither should you act upon them. Takeyour superiority complex inside you and emotionally integrate it.Take the time to consider why you entered into a mental and emotional state of competition, of comparison. Feel the naturalanimal and biological defense system that makes us want to fight,to get into competition with everyone around us for more andlarger acquisitions. Recognize that THIS is what drives this supe-riority complex. Absorb it.

- 51 -

Page 171: Kuji in Complete 33

You may also experience a reflex reaction that comes out of thefear that if you integrate these urges, you might lose this compet-itive edge, this drive for power. You might even say to yourself “Idon’t want to lose my drive for power!” Have no concern. If youabsorb this superiority complex, you will still be driven to becomepowerful, but you will do so consciously, and it will stop being acompetitive race with others, based on the ignorant and foolishassumption that there are limited resources for which you mustcontend. Since there are no limits to the resources available, (asyou may discover in the RIN Kuji) you can continue to releasecompetitive urges, while continuing to strive consciously tobecome everything that you are capable of.

Any time you force another person to do your will, you are violat-ing their right to free-will. Never use force or power to changeanything in another person’s life. Use your abilities to make yourown life better. You can pray for a person to heal, you can helpothers, you can protect yourself and those in need, but you mayabsolutely not use your power to confront or to challenge anoth-er human being. The power of SHA is enabled by the trust/faithof RIN, making you conscious of your right to act and to live.

SHA is confirmed by the awareness of personal responsibility yougained from KYO, since you are the one that manifested whathappened to you. By improving yourself, you will manifest moredesirable outcomes, outcomes that are congruent with your truewill. By accepting that you manifest what happens in your life, yougain the power to consciously alter your experience and you learnto manifest consciously.

- 52 -

Page 172: Kuji in Complete 33

SHA is therefore assisted by the humility you gained in your prac-tice of TOH. As you learn to adapt yourself to your environment, you gain the power to adapt your environment to your will.Tolerance helps your mind release irritation, allowing you to focusonly on the good things, the positive outcomes you desire, thusencouraging the manifestation of those good things.

SHA teaches you that you have the right to have power.SHA offers you the lesson that you are always free to act. SHAnaturally gives you back the means to exist fully, which physicallymanifests in the healing of your body.

The power of SHA should not be constrained. It must be allowedto flow freely within you. You can direct your willpower with SHA energy, and you may direct it to accomplish a specific purpose if you wish to, but in general, allow the SHA energy toflow harmoniously within you. As you develop the power of SHA,it will never stop flowing and it will always naturally go where youneed it.

- 53 -

SHA Technique

Extend your thumbs, index fingers and little fingers.Interlace your middle and fourth finger inside yourhands.

Chakra: Solar PlexusMantra jp: On ha ya baï shi ra man ta ya sowakaMantra sk: Om haya vajramaantayaa swaha

SHA is the level where you begin to take charge of this process. Itis your stepping stone to the expression of your inner power, directed will, intentional action and the manifestation of your truewill. It is well known that the first phenomenon observed with thedevelopment of your SHA energy is the healing of your body. Itis a fact that the active energy in your solar plexus immediatelystarts regenerating your body. The natural reflex of the body, when filled with active Qi, will be to reconstruct itself, to heal andto extend your lifespan.

First, help release energy blockages that may be present in theabdomen and on the border of the rib-cage. Place your handspalm down on your knees. Breath-in deeply, pulling the air into

- 54 -

Page 174: Kuji in Complete 33

your abdomen; hold the air in for 3-5 seconds, then breath-outforcefully (AHHhhhhhh!) thru the mouth contracting all yourabdominal muscles. Empty as much air as you can, and immedi-ately release your abdomen muscles but keep your lungs empty, donot inhale yet. While your belly is relaxed and empty (no air in it)remain in this breathless state while you suck your abdomen upinto your rib cage. Keep all your intestines and digestive organspulled up into your rib cage. Hold it all in for 1 second, release thetension in your abdomen, then immediately pull your belly up intoyour rib-cage again for 1 second, relax the muscles, and then pullit back up again for a total of nine (9) “1 second hold and release”bursts, then breathe normally again. Perform this 3 to 9 timesbefore moving on to the next Kuji-In technique.

As you work with the SHA Kuji-In technique (using mudra andmantra), focus on the fact that you are “in charge”; you have theactive power, with all the means you need to act upon whateverchoice you make; you have the right to live, the right to do whatyou wish, the right to experience life. As you focus on these concepts, fill your solar plexus with living power and determina-tion in the form of raw energy, which is a circulating and radiantenergy that is shining from your solar plexus. Crank up this power, feel it in your guts. See your body reconstruct and heal as youfocus on your inner power. Visualize this nuclear fusion reactorwhich is inside of your body. See the powerful sun of the solarplexus.

Do not focus on this energy as any kind of comparative power.Never imagine being “more powerful than anyone else”… Rather, affirm to yourself, “I am powerful”. You can use this affirmation,

- 55 -

Page 175: Kuji in Complete 33

“I am power, I am life, and I always perform the right action: Ihave the power to act in my life, I have the life to act in power, andI am acting powerfully in my life”. Always contemplate your powerwithout stressing your body. Consider alternating periods of activetheatrically powerful practice, with relaxed meditative practice.Move with your power. Speak the mantra with power and decisive-ness. Contract your muscles as often you wish, and return to astate of relaxation from time to time. Power can flow thru youwith harmony and peace. Complete the practice with relaxedbreathing, while focusing on joy.

Healing

The healing ability which SHA enhances is the primary reason thatmost people want to learn about Kuji-In. Therefore, now that youare able to build up your energy properly and store it in your battery, (so you have an adequate source of energy for healing),and you have learned how to direct your energy according to yourwill, you are now ready to receive the application of SHA so thatyou can use the SHA technique to heal yourself or someone else.

Healing is always a side effect of the rectification of the variousparts of your Self on the other levels of existence. Self-therapyand emotional integration will always be an important part ofassisting the healing process.

As you gather all the components of this technique in your mindand prepare to start practicing SHA, you must focus your attention on beginning the process of healing. Although the SHAtechnique is enhanced by alternating between mild and intenseapplications, this must remain a background thought, becauseeffective healing requires a singular focus on peace and harmony. Therefore, the best way to proceed is to keep your inner contem-plation focused mostly on the healing of your body, while maintaining the fact that your solar plexus is radiating energy as abackground thought.

Graphic pictorial language speaks to our subconscious. The following exercise uses the graphic pictorial symbolism of a fruitthat has been left to rot, in contrast to a freshly picked fruit, burst-ing with life and juices. Visualize the cells within your body as they

- 57 -

Page 177: Kuji in Complete 33

shift from weak, rotting, decaying cells, to plump, rich cells, filledwith life, and light and always supplied with the perfect amountof nutrients and hydration. Use every sense to imagine and focuson this restoration process, (quickly leaving behind the idea of anydecaying cells). Make the image of your cells beautiful and alive. You may place your focus on your entire body, or on a specialorgan, depending on your needs. Close your visualization with thecertainty that there are only rich healthy cells remaining in yourbody.

Your body knows better than your mind what the correct shape ofan organ for your body should be. If you seek to heal an organ,do not visualize the organ itself, as you may wind up manifestingan organ with an improper shape for your body. Simply focus onthe reconstruction of the organ at the cellular level, and ask yourbody to heal. If you need a stronger and healthier heart, you maycertainly visualize the organ conceptually as healthy and strong, using a visualization that is as close to the desired result as you canimagine. However, please refrain from adopting an attitude ofcontrol over the exact final shape; just allow your body to complywith your expressed desire and to perfectly create a healthy, strongheart for you that is perfectly shaped for your body. Use the affir-mation, “My heart is healthy and strong; my heart is perfect for mybody.”

If you need to reconstruct a bone, for example, you might compare your visualization to a broken tree branch rectifyingitself. Focus your thoughts on the bone structure reforming, instead of trying to dwell on the exact shape of the finished prod-uct. You certainly don’t want to end-up with a misshapen bone.

- 58 -

Page 178: Kuji in Complete 33

Again, you can trust that your bones have the power to rectifythemselves at the cellular level. Then all you have to do is trust thatyour body knows exactly how to reform the bones so that they willfit your body perfectly. Therefore, you will always focus on thebone rectification process in general way, rather than the precisedetails. Use the affirmation, “My bone structure is perfect for mybody.”

It will take a lot of practice before you will be able to heal at will. However, although it does take time to develop this ability to thelevel of mastery, the rewards are excellent for the diligent and perseverant practitioner. After you have sufficient experience atregenerating your own body, you will be able to focus this healingprocess on others, in order to help them heal. In this way you canassist their natural healing process, just as you do when you workthe SHA technique on yourself.

It is important that you understand that the SHA technique alwaysworks much better if the person in question actually wants to be healed. You may think this is a strange concept, but it does happen that some people want to experiment with being sick fora while. Others might seek to be ill because they feel guilty aboutasking to be loved unless they are ill. There are many reasons forthese choices, even if they seem strange to you. Most of all youmust understand that it is difficult, if not impossible, to fightagainst the will of someone who manifests sickness in their bodyso they can play the role of the victim in order to get attention. When someone gets sick, there is always an underlying reason fortheir choice to manifest that illness. In any case, it is wise to under-stand these principles if you want to help people to heal. It is also

- 59 -

Page 179: Kuji in Complete 33

important (in fact, it is crucial for your own self preservation) thatyou refuse to overburden yourself with the responsibility ofhealing everyone. Remember that you are responsible for yourown well being and self- preservation first. If you destroy your lifetrying to help others, you won’t be there for anyone. Do not promote yourself as a healer unless you actually work in this field.Take care of yourself before you try to help anyone else.

KAI

KAI Way of Life

The KAI level is associated with the Heart chakra. It is said thatthe ability one develops with this Kuji is intuition. In fact, intuitionis a natural side-effect of the deeper understanding of the wisdombeneath intuition, which is compassion.

According to many spiritual philosophies God created us to expe-rience life. Your life is a manifestation of God. God experienceslife through you. Everything that happens in your life is a blessingof the honorable consciousness that you are.

At the emotional level, the heart chakra is both an organ ofperception and an emitting organ. It perceives life’s experiencesand transmits opinions about those experiences. Such opinions areusually called “judgments”. The heart tells us what is right andwhat is wrong; these perceptions are part of the process that conditions our human ego.

KAI is the Kuji-In technique for perfecting your experience ofLove. This Love is not only the love exchanged by mates, but theall-mighty unconditional Love of yourself and others. As you lookat yourself, focus on accepting all that you are, in whatever state orcondition you currently find yourself. This doesn’t mean you willgive up trying to improve yourself, but it would be cruel to wait

- 61 -

Page 181: Kuji in Complete 33

until you are perfect before you accept all that you are. If you waitfor perfection before you start loving yourself, you will wait forev-er, because loving yourself as you are right now is a necessary toolfor the attainment of perfection.

KAI is the way of acceptance, love and compassion. By acceptingyourself and all that you are, by accepting others as they are, byaccepting everything that happens, you are opening the way for agreater experience of compassion. The compassion of KAI offersyou a way to look at painful events, with an eye to seeing the lesson that the experience is trying to teach you. This is possiblewhen you understand that there is a loving Spirit whose goal isyour personal evolution and bliss; that Spirit is buried beneaththose human masks of terror and sorrow, and hidden deep within the frustrating and challenging life experiences you havebeen having.

As to evil: Never seek pain, never inflict pain on others, and never work towards getting more pain. Nevertheless, you mustunderstand that sometimes pain comes along with necessary andimportant evolutionary/transformative experiences. We spendentirely too much mental and emotional energy pushing painfulexperiences away, or wishing we had never had any painful experi-ences. When you experience pain, don’t waste any energy denyingit is there. Immediately accept the fact that you are having a painfulexperience and get right to work resolving the situation.Accepting the existence of pain does not mean we should permitthe pain to continue hurting us. It simply indicates that we shouldacknowledge the fact that something hurts, and put all availableresources into resolving the painful situation with virtuous actions.

- 62 -

Page 182: Kuji in Complete 33

The sooner we get away from the human games of victimizationand self-persecution, the faster we can get to the root of what isbothering us and start resolving the problem. Our human egotends to amplify feelings of pain, hoping to attract attention andcompassion from others. Please develop enough compassion foryour self to release the pressure of pain at the emotional level. When a painful experience cannot be resolved or the facts of thesituation cannot be changed (like when something irreplaceablebreaks, or when someone we love dies), we are encouraged toaccept it and see it with compassion so we can elevate our percep-tion of life with Love. Everything happens for a reason; this isespecially true when we are aware that we are responsible for ourown experiences.

In any case, take the time to embrace every experience you havewith Love and compassion. Get in touch with your emotions;instead of fearing pain, taste it inside you. Breathe into it. Be conscious and aware of your experience. When someone touchesyou gently, consciously feel it physically and emotionally. Whenyou are touched aggressively, do the same. When you are the subject of the opinions of others, whether they tell you how goodyou are or how bad you are, embrace the opinion without judgment, but with compassion. There is only experience, and it isalways a perfect experience.

- 63 -

KAI Technique

Interlace all of your fingers, with the tip of each fin-ger pressing into the root of the facing finger.

Chakra: HeartMantra jp: On no-o ma ku san man da ba sa ra dan kan Mantra sk: Om namah samanta vajranam ham

The Heart chakra is the perceptive and emitting organ of the soul.As you bring your hands together in the KAI mudra, as you chantthe prayer of KAI, remember that you are honoring your consciousness, your spirit, at the level of the Buddha or theChrist-consciousness. Bring yourself into a state of gratitude foreverything that happens. Whether your experience is good or bad, pleasant or not, it does not matter, just focus on the good thingsthat happen to you, no matter what.

Feel that your heart is a round luminous perceptive organ vibrat-ing with Love. Don’t give it a specific shape; let it reveal itself toyou, since the shape is subtle and not as important as the state of

- 64 -

Page 184: Kuji in Complete 33

mind you put yourself into. Focus on gratitude and happiness. Seethe vibration of your loving heart radiate in front of you andbehind you from your back, while your heart chakra glows withLove.

All that you perceive is Love, the only comments you emit areLove. As you inhale, focus on your gratitude for everything thatyou have, for everything that happens to you. While you pray, youare honoring the greatness of your experience, the flavor of allthings that you can taste as human and Spirit.

This technique conditions your heart and mind to think from thestance of Love so you will naturally develop compassion. It willelevate your perception of life and assist you in manifesting enjoyable experiences, while accepting whatever happens. Anotherside-effect is that your intuition will naturally become more obvious. You will become more sensible to life’s events as youcondition yourself to accept whatever happens without judgment. The only judgment that you can apply to your experiences is “I Love You”, and most of the time, the YOU is yourself.

Kuji-in Meditation

With Kuji-In, we wish to attain a state of transcendence, to allowour consciousness to go to the plane of existence from which itoriginates and to remain there for a while. When this process iscomplete, our consciousness returns to us with spiritual light and“new information” specifically meant for us. In meditation wetend to lose our awareness of what actually happens when wetranscend. Therefore, when we are performing Kuji-In techniques,we use a special physical and mental technique to retain our aware-ness of the physical plane, while simultaneously allowing our consciousness to achieve the state of transcendence. Begin topractice transcending in simple meditation, and then practiceremaining aware while you transcend. This ability to remain awareis encouraged by performing a combination of physical movements and energy movements before the meditation or Kuji-In practice.

Before doing a motionless (or almost motionless) technique likeKuji-In, you may start with a series of moving Qi-Gong tech-niques to get your energy moving, to stretch your body, to awak-en your mind, and to activate your breathing and blood flow. These exercises will help you perform the motionless techniqueslonger and with more efficiency. You can either perform theDance of the Dragon, or Chinese Medical Qi-Gong right beforeyou sit down to meditate or start your Kuji-In practice. It is impor-tant to remain awake while you meditate, and these exercises will

help you so that you do not fall asleep during your practice peri-od. When you achieve the state of transcendence, your awarenessmight drift in and out, but you are not sleeping. You will under-stand the difference with practice.

Sometimes, it is recommended that you practice Kuji-In techniques in a meditative fashion, instead of the usual active-invocative style. To use Kuji-In meditatively, sit and cross yourlegs, either in full lotus, half lotus, or with your right ankle overyour left. Use a chair only if it would otherwise compromise yourcomfort. Keep your spine straight without putting consciouseffort into the task. Allow your head to tilt forward a bit, but notto fall completely forward onto your chest. Practice all of the Kuji-In steps up to the one you are currently working on;continue to do your current exercise for a while. When you get tothis Kuji-In technique (the one you are currently learning), allowthe mantra to become very repetitive, then slowly shift into silentmental repetition, and hold your visualization effortlessly whilebreathing naturally, let your eyes close a bit, and just relax into thetechnique. Your hands may be lowered so that they rest on yourlegs; your focus may be shifted to the associated chakra, and youmay allow yourself to gaze inward at your Spirit. Reduce everyaspect of the technique until all parts of it (mudra, mantra, mandala, and chakra) are only whispered inside of you, to keep alittle light in your mind while you let yourself go into the state oftranscendence. Eventually, only the mantra will remain, slowly andsoftly repeated in your mind.

- 67 -

Page 187: Kuji in Complete 33

Remain in this very calm state for at least 15 minutes. You mindwill be disturbed by small interruptions the first few times. This isan essential process that your mind has to go thru. It is a kind ofcleaning up of your residual thoughts. Allow all your thoughts towander, to go as they please, do not force them to be still, but donot encourage them either. When you notice you are drifting backinto some thought process, gently return to the Kuji-In technique.Your physical body might also want to express itself throughmotion. The energy circuitry not used for meditation will produceunexpected itches, tickles, and perhaps even little cramps in yourmuscles. Attend to these physical annoyances ONLY if your com-fort is really compromised. Each time you have a physical reactionto meditation, it means the energy is working on you and it is agood sign. Let the energy work to reduce the noise in your circuit-ry while you continue to focus on your meditation.

When you are used to doing 15 minutes of meditation daily, extend your practice time to 20, then 25, then 30 minutes.Meditation will train your mind to reduce extraneous chatter andnoise, it will help you to let go. It will permit your body to becomea suitable vessel for Spirit to interact with. The technique teachesyour human aspect to accept your spiritual aspect so that all ofyour techniques will become much more efficient. While you willretain the awareness of your human existence, your consciousnesswill soon expand to include your spiritual existence.

JIN

JIN Way of Life

JIN has to do with developing perfect knowledge of self. Itspower is accessed by our ability to listen and speak perfectly. As a side-effect of that ability to listen and speak perfectly, you mightdevelop the psychic ability of telepathy. JIN requires listening atevery level, and the ability to speak from every level. It is a life-long process to develop this ability, but you will immediately feelthe enhancement in your life the moment you start paying atten-tion to the JIN attitude in your everyday behavior. The JIN way oflife takes the longest to develop of all the Kuji-In Techniques andit produces the most powerful results. It offers you an access tohigher levels of consciousness, as well as an ability to transformyour human experience into something greater. It compriseseverything you have learned so far, experienced at the level ofhearing and speech.

Perfect your ability to listen. The first obstruction to true listeningis our need to compare ourselves to others, to establish ourselvesas superior. Everyone has this superiority complex; it is genetic; weare born this way. Don’t bother trying to argue, “I’m not like that”because you are like that, and you will find out how true that is inthe following lines: Our minds are conditioned to believe we holdthe truth, and that our actual conception of truth is the best forus at the moment, which often leads us to degrade any knowledgethat does not fit into our pre-establish scheme of beliefs andthought processes. Almost every time you say “I already know

- 69 -

Page 189: Kuji in Complete 33

that”, you have cut off your ability to learn anything further, bynaturally blocking everything that might have been new to you,(since you are certain you already know it all).

It is recommended that you make yourself available to new infor-mation. It does not mean you will have to automatically acceptwhatever you hear as truth for you, but without the ability to beopen to new ideas, you are certain to block out anything that couldhelp you progress. If you deduce that some specific knowledgedoes not apply to you, or does not fit you at the moment, you willhave plenty of time later to discard it. At the moment you are lis-tening to someone else, remain available to the knowledge they aretrying to impart.

As with the RIN mind-set, trust yourself and let down your guard.Respect all knowledge that is spoken every time it is spoken, what-ever level it is spoken from, no matter who is addressing you. Payattention to the way you listen, and grow from there. Listen tothose who say stupid things to you; listen to those who tell youthat you are a good person; listen to everyone and everything andtrust yourself that, in the end, all will be well.

As with the KYO mind-set, be responsible for what you are.Develop your discernment, a sense of good judgment that willallow you to acquire only that knowledge which is best for you. Ifsomeone says you are stupid, before discarding that knowledge, seek inside of you to see if there is a place inside you where youare stupid. If you do your job well, you will certainly find a placesuch as this. By admitting that there is such a place to yourself, youwill not react to this knowledge; you will be in acceptance of what

- 70 -

Page 190: Kuji in Complete 33

you are. By getting out of the way of the information, the communication can continue in such a way that it resolves what-ever provoked the comment.

Another important part of the KYO mind-set is also to admit toyourself that you are a good person when someone says that. It isimportant to accept both compliments and complaints. You arethe one responsible for processing the knowledge and it is up toyou to make the best of it.

As with the TOH mind-set, develop tolerance for what you hear, listen with care and lower your defenses. Do not rush to reply, toreact, defend and to confront. When it is your turn to speak, speak. When it is your turn to listen, remain receptive and accepteverything that is said. Accepting what is said is not an admissionor approval of what is said to you. Acceptance allows you toacknowledge what is said, at the level it is said from, and does notimply that you must become or believe what is said to you.

As with the SHA mind-set, believe, know and understand thatknowledge is power. Do not attempt to control the exchange of knowledge until it is your turn to define the exchange ofknowledge. The knowledge will usually flow naturally in whateverdirection it must, and when you notice the knowledge leadsnowhere, or becomes too provocative, take full responsibility, andmanifest a return to peaceful communication.

As you learned in the KAI mind-set, do not judge what you hear.Practice having a compassionate ear, and listening with love. Ifinformation is addressed to you, accept this new experience. Try

- 71 -

Page 191: Kuji in Complete 33

to prevent yourself from perceiving only pain where there seemsto be pain. Understand that pain is only painful at the level atwhich it is perceived; know that it is painful at that level, admit itis painful, then focus on the experience itself without judgment.

That’s a lot of things to remember in the art of perfecting your listening skills! Let’s move on to the art of perfecting your speech.

When you practiced RIN, you learned to adopt the attitude oftrusting your right to speak, as well as your ability to speak. Nevercapitulate! You have to right to express yourself, but it does notimply that you must get your point of view across at any cost. Itdoes not imply that you should battle until your vision of theinformation is assimilated by others; they have the right to theiropinions too. It simply means that your spoken words have value,at least to yourself and your divinity. This being said, do not wasteyour precious speech when it is not being received. Trust yourself;before anything else, trust yourself.

As you learned in your studies of the KYO mind-set, take respon-sibility for what you say. Never lie by commission or omission;never be deceitful. To lie in whatever form is to condition yourmind to believe that what you say is false and should not be man-ifested. This is a very poor habit to get into, if you hope to trainyour mind to manifest what you desire. Therefore, always speakthe truth, so that your mind is conditioned to trusting that whatyou say is true. Eventually, as you develop your powers of mani-festation, you will say something and it will become true and man-ifest, if it is not already true. However, before you can manifest

- 72 -

Page 192: Kuji in Complete 33

what you speak, you must establish this relationship of trust withyour mind, by only speaking the truth. If you said something thatimplies you owe someone a service, act upon it and render theservice, or affirm your incompetence and inform the concernedpeople that the service will not be rendered. Never allow a prom-ise to be spoken that you do not fulfill according to your spokenword. Say “I Love You” only if it is true, but do not prevent yourself from saying it if such is genuinely the case. (Note: Do notbe in a hurry to destroy your life, or your chances for happiness.)

As you learned with the TOH mind-set, be humble in choosingyour words. Humility doesn’t mean you have to suffer in silence. Most people confuse humility with shame or submission to someone who is exerting dominating control. Humility means thatyou are to remain in truth. If something should be said, then itmust be said, and if something should not be said, then it must notbe spoken. Some information serves a higher purpose when it isretained and other information is more useful when it isexchanged. To become Wise, one must develop a great discern-ment, especially in the choice of words, and whether to speakthem or not.

As you learned with the SHA mind-set, always express yourself ina way that will lead to the accomplishment of your goal. Be powerful in your speech. Your words can become powerful bybeing whispered in the ears of a lover, or shouted at players on thegame field (to encourage, not discourage), or elegantly recited ona stage, or pedagogically spoken from the dais in a lecture to a stu-dent. In every case, your words are to be clear and must always

- 73 -

Page 193: Kuji in Complete 33

represent that which you wish to express. Practice using words asthey are meant to be used; consider their meanings carefully andchoose wisely. Do not hide behind sarcasm, lies, manipulations, orcontroversial arguments. Allow your words to express the powergenerated through your speech.

As you learned with the KAI mind-set, speak words of compas-sion and love. Do not express judgments and destructive criticism.Use your speech to express enlightenment and to bring enlighten-ment to yourself. Say beautiful things, and if this is hardly possibleat certain times, at least say the truth. Do not degrade or lower thevalue of anyone, of anything, or any experience. If somethingdoes not fit you, there is always a good choice of words that willserve to rectify your experience. If there is no way to change whatyou are experiencing, it is useless to brag or complain about itunless it is to do self-therapy; self-therapy must make you a betterperson, in your heart. Express yourself when you are in pain, say the truth at the level you perceive it, but do notencourage the ego to play the victim game and do not amplify anysituation with your words. Whenever possible, say happy words, funny jokes, accompanied with a smile, and define your life as ahappy loving life. Life is meant to be enjoyed.

JIN Technique

Interlace all your fingers, with your fingertips inside, each of them touching the equivalent tip of theother hand’s finger, if possible.

Chakra: ThroatMantra jp: On aga na ya in ma ya sowaka Mantra sk: Om agnayaa yanmayaa swaha

Practice the JIN Kuji-In technique in its invocative manner, andlisten to the words as you speak them. Listen to the physical vibra-tion of the words. Notice that you are simultaneously speakingand listening to yourself. This is the obvious and simple part. Aftera few repetitions of paying attention to the actual words, begin tolisten to more than one level at the same time. Listen to the physical level of vibration, and pay attention to the energy level ofthe words, the ethereal existence of the words you are speaking.Pay attention to both the physical and energetic level of the spoken mantra as you repeat it. Imagine that you are saying it atboth levels. Using your visualization, imagine that there are manystrata of vibrations layered one over the other, one inside theother, at the physical and energetic levels.

- 75 -

Page 195: Kuji in Complete 33

Speak simultaneously on both levels of vibration, and then listento yourself at both these levels.

When you really feel you are speaking and listening at the energeticlevel, imagine a third layer of sound vibration in your mind with-out defining the specific level where it exists; just know that it is ata still higher level of vibration than the levels you were previouslyfocused on. Once you feel you have imagined that level, continueto imagine more and more layers of sound, one over the other, one inside the other, without attempting to control the experience.Allow your experience to lead you. Vibrate the mantra at manylevels of vibration, and listen to the many levels of vibration. Atfirst, the most important part was to listen to the physical andenergetic levels, even if that didn’t really seem to work for you.Next, you must practice letting go of your control over the expe-rience and focus on your multi-level connection with the soundvibrations.

RETSU

RETSU Way of Life

While you are gaining spiritual knowledge about yourself, you maybegin to perceive that you are made out of different aspects of thesame thing, (different levels of your existence as a human and spir-itual entity). This awareness is triggered by the JIN technique andthe activation of the throat chakra. Now that you are becomingaware of such realities, you might want to access them, to penetrate the different levels of consciousness, and the multiplespace-time dimensions that comprise the Universe, each existingat their own frequency. RETSU opens the doorway which is foundat the base of your skull. It sits inside the pointy bone at the backof the head. It is called the “Jade Gate”. Thru this doorway, youmay become aware of the spiritual realities and the forces behindall movements. It is the doorway between quantum physics andalchemy.

Let’s say you are listening to a new song, one that you have neverheard before, and you really like it. Your attitude is focused on thatnew song; perhaps you are caught up in your enthusiasm for thesong, and you would not like to be disturbed by any other soundsaround you. You are enjoying the rapture of discovering something new. This state of “availability” is blessed, since you arepaying attention with joy to a new feeling, something you had notpreviously experienced. Once you listen to the song a few times, you might start to sing along with it, because you are really enjoy-ing the song, yet, at the same time, you soon discover that your

- 77 -

Page 197: Kuji in Complete 33

singing hinders this state of “availability”. As soon as you startedsinging you became active, involved in the event, and thus control-ling it. When you are active and controlling, you are not payingattention to the original song anymore. Obviously, when you arelistening to a recorded song, it is something that is set in a specif-ic and permanent pattern, it will not change, (the song will repeatover and over the same way). However, what would it be like foryou if the song changed every time you heard it? What if it alteredover time, producing new feelings in you, endlessly resulting innew discoveries? If such were the case, you would not sing overthe song. You would keep on listening and paying attention.

I am pointing a specific state of mind that permits us to always beopen to new discoveries, and, from that state, to discover what isbefore us: the changing, evolving, ever fresh world, experienced injoy. As children, we were almost permanently in this state of mind, rapt with enthusiasm at each discovery. If there were no discov-eries at hand, we were filled with hope that one would soon comeour way. This joy, this ability to be astonished at every little thing, this enthusiasm, is a necessary part of our spiritual attitude. Areyou honestly astonished at the marvels of creation when you lookat the corner of your dining room table? Are you speechless withastonishment before the miracle of your wonderful plastic fake-grass carpet? I am encouraging you to rediscover this ability to beimpressed by all those things we take for granted. Once in a while, immerse yourself in something mundane. For example, gaze at thegrain of something made of wood; be intentionally astonished athow it came to be so beautiful; give in and over-conceptualizeabout the flow of the One Life Force that created it.

- 78 -

Page 198: Kuji in Complete 33

Using this joyful attitude of discovery, pay attention to the differ-ent planes of existence, to the ebb and flow of energy around you,as well as to your own physical movements. Try to see those space-time dimensions you have been ignoring. It will probably take awhile for you to start discerning them, but that is not the goal. Thegoal is simply to be able to be touched by the creation of God,thus accepting that there are realities that you are not yet aware of,thus releasing the control you constantly hold over your perceptivesenses. This exercise will eventually make it possible for you to discern the many levels of consciousness and planes of existence. There is a time for listening, a time for speaking and a time foraction. For now, simply listen without speaking, look withoutanticipating the next image, feel without moving around, and simply pay attention to the flow of creation, with joy.

Once the door (your Jade Gate) opens, the physical and spiritualspace-time dimensions will reveal themselves to you. The laws ofcreation and manifestation will unveil themselves before your eyes. You will not have to work hard at it; you will simply be payingattention, available to anything new that comes into your field ofawareness.

- 79 -

RETSU Technique

Point your left index finger up. Wrap the fingers ofyour right hand around your left index finger. Placethe tips of your right thumb and index finger incontact with the tip of your left index finger. Thefingers of your left hand are gathered into a fist.

Chakra: Jade Gate, at the back of the headMantra jp: On hi ro ta ki sha no ga ji ba tai sowaka Mantra sk: Om jyotihi chandoga jiva tay swaha

While RETSU seems to be the simplest of all techniques, it is theone our human ego fights the most at the beginning. If you persist, your ego soon yields, collaborating with you on your pathto assimilating new discoveries.

Perform the RETSU Kuji-In ritual technique. During the firststep, do not visualize anything, simply focus on the designatedareas. For the first 3 to 9 mantras, pay attention to the Jade Gate,at the base of your skull. For the next 3 to 9 mantras, maintainyour focus on the Jade Gate, simultaneously placing some of yourattention on the middle of your back, between your shoulder

- 80 -

Page 200: Kuji in Complete 33

blades, at the back of the heart charka. During the next 3 to 9mantras, focus on all 3 areas, paying attention to the Jade Gate, thearea at the back of your heart chakra, and your base chakra. Next, take a few deep silent breaths while maintaining your focus on allthree (3) areas.

Finally, let go of all the visualizations, forget everything. Performthe ritual practice without any visualization, without counting…simply pay attention. Do not analyze, do not visualize, do notfocus, do not take command, let yourself go. Pay attention tothose dimensions that you don’t normally perceive, even thoughyou can’t imagine what they would be like. Don’t imagine them;don’t invent them, simply pay attention. Do not force the previousfocal points to close or open, to diminish or increase, simply alloweverything to occur however it will. Do not get angry at yourbody’s reaction, nor fight the images popping into your head, simply let everything go.

This technique produces results every time, but you won’t seethose results for quite a while.

ZAI

ZAI Way of Life

ZAI is the path that leads beyond the illusion, takes you behind theveil, revealing the process of creation from which the experienceof our human lives will inevitably unfold. It is from behind the veilthat the creative forces of the Universe dance together, uniting tomanifest the true desires that we have at the highest level ofconsciousness, (from the point of view of our Spirit). It is thatplace in our consciousness where we control what happens to us,whether we are aware of it or not.

Most of us spend our entire lives subject to Karmic Law,ignorantly living under the rule that yields shocking returns for ournegative actions; it is under this rule that we continuously experi-ence the consequences of our previous actions; and it is by ourreactions to those actions that we keep the karmic wheel spinning. From this human point of view of our existence, we believe thatwhat we desire, from our personal and individual role as humanbeings is what we really desire at all levels of our being. This errorignores the level of Spirit, which is ultimately the guiding force ofour lives, and to which we are subject. In other words, simply put,it is our Spirit that “judges” us and that metes out our Karma sothat we may evolve. Our human desires are subject to, and limit-ed by the laws of nature, the instinct of survival, the rules of ani-mal behavior. The Spirit is not limited in this way and can see theGrand Design. Yet, we are not to despise our own needs andwants. All that we seem to desire as a human is still good for us,

- 83 -

Page 203: Kuji in Complete 33

since it serves our present human experience. We must accept our-selves as we are in our actual condition if we are to acquire a high-er level of comprehension of our existence. By comprehendingthe position of the self to the Spirit, and accepting the role ofeach, it is possible to evolve. That said, for students on a spiritualpath, it is important to pay more attention to our spiritual exis-tence.

What we seek on the path of ZAI is to become aware of the actof creation that we constantly use (on the Spiritual level) in totalfree will. With absolute free will, we can manifest all that we trulywish for, simply by desiring it at the level of Spirit. With free will,we are free, and our will becomes reality. The creative elements ofthe Universe naturally agglomerate around the desires of an awak-ened Spirit; this causes the desires to become denser, and morematerial until they become available to the human experience(manifest as reality).

Unfortunately, our free will is usually buried under the weight ofour egotistical need to control everything. We must accept this factif we are to elevate ourselves beyond it; we must not use this as areason to remain limited by our human behaviors. We must becourageous, face the unknown and become aware of our existenceas Spirit. As human animals, we are subject to the laws of theUniverse. As Divine Spirits, even though we are enmeshed in dailyhuman experience, we have a “human share” of Divine power thatis available to us at anytime. It takes some practice, wisdom, deter-mination and faith to apply the techniques that will eventually leadto our power to create.

- 84 -

Page 204: Kuji in Complete 33

All the Kuji-In techniques that we have learned up to now have served this ultimate goal: to give us back our Divine power, including: our faith, our self-love, and the tools we need to inter-act with the Universe and to create our reality in conformity withour desire. By using these Kuji-In techniques, we have learned tobe in charge, to accept the truth as it is, yet to change it anyway. We have practiced observing our experience and learned to workat making it better. Even though we remain the cause of our owndeception (each time we blame others for what happens to us) bytaking back our responsibility for everything that we experience,we are freeing our minds from the hold of the ego that believesIT has control over our destiny. This awakening releases ourDivine free will, and permits our initial power of manifestation tooccur naturally with harmony between Spirit and Consciousness.

Even though all spiritual seekers are anxious to become the ultimate creators of their own lives, it is not wise to rush into formulating desires for our Spirit to fulfill, because, in these firstattempts, it would only be our ego trying to impose its vision onour Spirit (once again). Our Spirit, out of respect for our free will, would gladly accept those newly formulated ego-contrived-goals,letting us fall (once again) into the need to suffer from the negative fallout of our limited experience and understanding. Ourhuman ego is actually our best friend (and a good teacher) on thespiritual path, but we must not allow our human identity to pro-claim itself as Divine. God will be God in ITS own experience ofITSELF, and our Spirit already has a plethora of wonderful desiresfor us, ready to manifest in our lives at any time, with abundanceand joy, directly from the realm where we are all one with God.

- 85 -

Page 205: Kuji in Complete 33

This can only happen when we accept that, as humans, we are notin control. We will have control over our lives only by elevating ourdefinition of ourselves. The ZAI way of life consists of workingwith our mind, heart and body in order to define ourselves as aSpirit that is having a human experience, rather than a humanbeing sometimes having a spiritual experience. Do not make themistake of discarding your human identity, the results would bedisastrous. Instead, remember that your human identity is a neces-sary part of your experience of yourself as a Spirit, and that it isfrom the point of view of the Spirit that everything has occurredright from your birth. Only a human is arrogant enough to try toeradicate himself from God’s design, but God knows us, God created us, and man cannot eradicate himself; it is best to acceptthe plan, understand the plan, and to come into harmony what itis. God sees through our eyes. Even though we are bemoaning ourfate, God does not see separation or conflict while watching thisjourney though our eyes. It is merely the ego that gets upset whenit realizes that the idea that it was ever in charge of anything ismere illusion. Redefine yourself as a Divine being experiencinghuman life, and cherish your human experience; each life experi-ence has great value. The human identity you have forged overtime is the treasure that you bring to your Divine Self as you awaken to your spiritual existence. It is who you truly are.Whatever you do, whatever you know or think you know, you arestill YOU and you have never stopped, nor will you ever stopbeing yourself. It is only your point of view that changes. The levelat which you perceive yourself evolves. At the same time, as Spirit, you are in charge of everything, and you are a servant of yourhuman self. Now, all you have to do is to decide which point ofview you wish to exist from.

ZAI Technique

Touch the tips of your thumbs and index fingers toform a triangle, while your other fingers are spreadout.

The Universe is composed of many levels of vibration resultingfrom a single holy experience. We have practiced gently closingone realm of reality, so that we could pay attention to the manyother realms, physical to spiritual, that are part of our existence. Now, it is time to look at the Creator’s work of art and to observethe Grand Plan. Pay attention to the dance of the elements usedto create the Universe. ZAI is a prayer for a revelation of truth.ZAI asks that your Spirit show you what you are in totality, as wellas what the Universe is and how it operates.

- 87 -

Page 207: Kuji in Complete 33

The original elements, of which everything is made, assemblethemselves and condense according to the laws governing thespiritual act of manifestation. The traditional (and widespread)belief is that a side effect of this Kuji-In technique might eventu-ally be the ability to influence some of nature’s manifestations, such as the movement of rain and wind. However, those detailsfall into the global scope of becoming the “Creator” again. Don’twaste time trying to make it rain unless it is necessary for yourtraining. A true master never, or rarely cares about such details. The ZAI technique is meant to get us back in touch with our ability to create. It is not the operation of manifestation in itselfwith which we are concerned here. The actual method of manifes-tation will naturally follow the initial reconciliation of our humanidentity with its Spiritual authority. For now, we can’t build if wedon’t have the tools.

You never know how a revelation will occur. We do not havehuman control over such spiritual events. Perform the ZAI Kuji-In while you focus on your third eye, and simply get in touchwith the free elements of creation at the spiritual level, as well astheir denser counterparts on the human and physical levels. Aftera shorter or more extended period of time, which depends onhow elevated a point of view you attained during your practice, arevelation may occur to you and you will know a bit more aboutyourself and the Universe.

Where Human and Spirit Touch

Compassion is our human ability to see the lesson in a painfulhuman experience and, while we understand the painful experi-ence, having compassion means that we wish to support the oneafflicted by it and to offer them comfort. Sometimes we are thehuman who is in need of comfort and compassion; therefore, in apainful situation, we may justifiably offer compassion to our ownhuman heart. This process is one way we have found of bringingsome comfort to ourselves, even though we still wish to resolvethe pain by developing a correct understanding of the situationand undertaking a series of rectifying actions.

The highest and purest emotion a human being can feel is com-passion, which comes from your most holy experience of life;when you attain the ultimate devotion to the highest good foryourself, from a state of pure Love, you have achieved the emo-tion of compassion.

The most horrible, dense, degraded, separated, painful, destructiveand darkest emotion a Spirit can feel is… compassion.

Compassion is the lowest point of the Spirit and the highest pointof the human, and it is at that juncture where they meet andbecome one. Compassion is therefore the doorway to power, theultimate link between the Divine and human world. It is there, atthe place where we experience compassion that the exchangebetween Spirit and human is the most powerful. When this con-nection is made, the powerful flow from above and below isunblocked, and is allowed to flow freely in both directions.

- 89 -

Page 209: Kuji in Complete 33

From the human point of view, compassion is the point of viewwhere pain cannot possibly exist, where all painful and pleasurablesensations are merely felt as information about our human experi-ences. It is the place where we look at our entire human experienceand see only the lessons of love. It is from that place that a humanbeing can understand the point of view of Spirit.

For Spirit, compassion is the point of view where pain might possibly exist, where all the information which is felt as a result ofour human experience could become tainted with the polarity ofgood and evil, pleasure and pain. It is from that place that Spiritcan grasp the totality of human experience, and embrace it withlove and understanding.

Learn what it is to have compassion. Learn how to act with compassion. Practice switching your point of view from an afflict-ed human to a comprehensive Spirit, and, even then, continue tostep into action to resolve unwanted human experiences. Do notdeny your own pain under the false pretext that you are above it.Simply switch point of views, and the pain will transform itselfover time.

ZEN

ZEN Way of Life

Step 1ZEN’s way of life is a challenging proposition and will requirequite a long time before you are able to attain proficiency with thetechnique. Nevertheless, even your initial attempts to practice thistechnique will transform your life. Fixity meditation is adequate,by itself, to assist you in becoming aware of the spiritual aspectsof your life, so that you can feel the energies in your body whenyou return from your meditative state.

Practice meditation often. You should meditate a few minutesafter each Kuji-In practice. In fact, you should consider addingmeditation to your daily routine, even if you are only able to do itfor a few minutes every day. The more you meditate, the fasteryour growth will occur hereafter. Meditate 10 minutes, 20 minutes, even 30 minutes at a sitting. Practice keeping your body in a meditative state for longer and longer periods of time. When meditating, hold still as long as you can without paying attentionto the little physical disturbances: itching, cramps, tingling.

The more you meditate, the more powerful your ability to manifest what you think and desire will become. Thus, when youreturn to an awake and aware state, focus only on the things youwish for, or on the things that make you happy. Discarding thisrule can turn your life into a living hell, while respecting this rulecan turn it into heaven.

Fixity meditationFixity Meditation consists of gazing at something without reallylook at it. Fixity can be performed by focusing on a point in frontof you, or on the floor a little ways away. You may recite a mantramentally to keep your mind focused and to profit from the effectsof the mantra. You may drop off using the mantra anywhere inthe meditation, as soon as you are sure that you can maintain astate of mental inactivity and are able to keep your gaze fixed onwhatever you have chosen. I recommend a blank wall.

A simple fixity meditation:- Begin with the breathing technique of your choice

for 2 minutes.- Use a mental mantra of your choice for 2 to 5 minutes.- Practice fixity, eyes opened, using no mantra, from 5 to 45

minutes. No mind, no word, no image.

After you have put in some time and practice, you will realize thatyour consciousness has been in an altered state, because of thechanges in consciousness you feel when you come out of themeditative state. The ultimate goal of meditation is to transcendconsciousness and yet, to remain conscious at the same time. However, you must train your body and mind to transcend con-sciousness one step at a time.

The first sign of a successful meditation is the slumber that hap-pens naturally when you relax so much that you let your body goto sleep while spiritual energies enter your energy channels. Yourbody will fall asleep and you will feel sleepy when you return toconsciousness. This means that you slept and did not transcend.

- 92 -

Page 212: Kuji in Complete 33

Still, it is a good thing since it is a normal part of the practice. Atthis point your body and energy channels are getting used toreceiving spiritual energies. Do what you can to remain awakewhile you meditate, but slumber is inevitable at first.

After you have practiced this exercise for a while you will nolonger succumb to sleep. You may lose consciousness for amoment or two, but you will always return to your bodily aware-ness and then immediately notice that your body maintained itsposture all by itself. You will also notice that you do not feel sleepy. This is because you did not fall asleep, so you are not waking up.You will feel that your consciousness is altered in some way; youwill feel light, energetic and ready to go on with your daily affairs.

You will quickly become comfortable being in an altered state ofconsciousness and you will also become increasingly aware of thespiritual sensations in your physical body. Eventually, you mightnotice that the altered consciousness and spiritual sensationsoccur, but you did not lose consciousness at all during the entiremeditation. This means you transcended consciously and that youhave achieved a great transformation in your body. You will prob-ably alternate between conscious and unconscious transcendencefrom one meditation to the next, depending on your level offatigue and state of mind. Do not worry about it, only illumedmasters transcend consciously at will.

Page 213: Kuji in Complete 33

Step 2The second step of ZEN’s way, is to maintain yourself in this spiritual attitude as long as possible, while, at the same time, remaining totally conscious of your physical reality. Attempt tomaintain a spiritual attitude in all of your actions, at everymoment.

When you complete a meditation or spiritual technique, try toremain in the altered state of consciousness resulting from yourmeditation, but ground yourself in your physical body as much aspossible. You will want to adopt an attitude which permits yourSpirit to inhabit your body at all times. This requires that you areable to achieve a meditative state at the same time that you arefocusing on the physical actions you must perform. Move slowlyat first, repeat your mantra mentally if needed.

You may feel a bit dizzy from time to time. You may also have theodd experience of feeling that you don’t belong in this reality. Youmight have short moments of intense distraction or even loseconsciousness of the physical plane of reality for a few seconds. You will need to develop an attitude where it is wonderful to havea physical body and live in this world, as this is something that isvery difficult to do while transcending. This is why you must becareful and work on this technique at appropriate times, in appro-priate places.

Do not try to work on a meditative or spiritual technique whileyou are driving a car, or when a transcendent state could causeinjury to yourself or someone else. Do not practice this techniquewhile you are working at a construction site. Never do it at work,

- 94 -

Page 214: Kuji in Complete 33

where your efficiency might be hindered by a momentary transcendence. Apply this technique only whenever you can permit yourself to lose focus for a few seconds. The ultimate goalis to practice remaining spiritually transcendent at all times, but itis best to begin with the safest environment and the most relaxedpractice period. Never put yourself in situations where you couldinjure yourself or others. Do not do this technique when you arewith too many people, or when you could be judged by others ifyou transcend in public. Keep your practices for yourself andapply this technique when it is easy to apply, where there will beno negative consequence as a result of the possible reactions ofyour body and mind to the technique.

ZEN technique

Rest your left knuckles on the fingers of your righthand, with your right palm open. Touch the tips ofyour two thumbs gently.

Chakra: CrownMantra jp: On a ra ba sha no-o sowakaMantra sk: Om ah ra pa cha na dhi

It is believed that your chakra system and the central energy channel of your body are very much like a conduit that allowsenergy to flow in and out of your energy system. It is easy to imag-ine a series of tubes with energy flowing into us and out of us. Wemay leap to the conclusion that, if something can flow throughthis conduit, it must be empty, but this erroneous deduction is theresult of the stilted observations available to us as a result of therestricted data from our limited senses and our limited experience.

Your chakra system and what we call its central channel are notchannels at all. The nature of your chakra system is greatly

- 96 -

Page 216: Kuji in Complete 33

superior to a series of wires and tubes: in fact your chakra systemis made out of “consciousness”. The chakra system is not a physical body, nor it is a hose through which energy runs; it is aconscious spirit which resides at the core of your body.

Each chakra is a state of consciousness that is designed to samplethe different flavors and experiences of life. Each chakra is a sen-sory instrument of the soul which is extended into our physicalbody so that our Spirit can experience life at every level. Energyresonates thru the chakras, rather than flowing through them.

For example, in a radio speaker, electricity is used to vibrate a mag-net, which in turn makes the air vibrate, generating sound. Thereare no actual electrons or pieces of the magnet flying around forus to hear; what we hear are intangible vibrations. With regard toeyesight, we perceive photoelectric radiations emitted from thesun or a light bulb, but there are no chunks of light bulbs orhydrogen particles in fusion flying around that our eyeballs grabonto somehow. We SEE because our eyes respond to vibrations, the vibration of photons.

It is correct to say that energy, in the form of Qi, Jing and Shen, flows thru our energy system, into our energy meridians. It is alsocorrect to say that energy flows through our chakras. But ourchakras are not tubes; they are not hollow; they are not empty; yetthey are not filled either; they are levels of “consciousness”.

The ZEN technique is simple. Perform the Kuji-In practice whilepaying attention to the consciousness inside you, rather than theenergy in your body.

- 97 -

Page 217: Kuji in Complete 33

Begin this technique by focusing only on your breathing. Sustainenough mental awareness of the ritual technique that you are ableto keep up with the (mudra, mantra, mandala), but focus mainlyon your breathing for a few minutes.

Pay attention to your entire physical body for another few minutes, and then focus on your feelings and emotions for a few minutes. If you have no sensation of feelings or emotions (good, you areat peace) then concentrate your attention on the process of feel-ing your mental body. Continue putting your attention on yourmind and mental activity. Do not encourage any particularthoughts; simply focus on your mental body, the concept of think-ing, the actual processes themselves.

Finally, pay attention to your consciousness, your spirit, your soulor whatever notion of your spiritual existence you can grasp.Slowly drop each aspect of the Kuji-In technique, one after theother. Drop the mudra and place your hands on your lap or inmeditation position, as you continue the meditation. Slowly repeatthe prayer mantra mentally, and gaze. Be aware of yourself asSpirit. Become your consciousness and let yourself transcend inmeditation.

Proceeding through the levels of breathing, bodily awareness, feeling, mental awareness and spiritual awareness, you haveclimbed the ladder of awareness up through the different states ofconsciousness of your body and self, to that place where you canfinally praise the Divine Spirit that you are.

The 9-Day Kuji-in Meditative Process

Each day for nine straight days, at approximately the same timeeach day, perform the following ritual using only one Kuji-in stepper day:

- Active Qi-Gong technique of your choice, 2 minutes.- Air and Energy Breathing technique, 2 minutes.- Daily Kuji-In technique, invocative, 2 minutes.- Daily Kuji-In technique, meditative, 15-20 minutes.- Come back to your conscious awareness and contemplate

silently, 2 minutes.

The first day, you will only use the RIN technique. The second day, perform RIN only 3 times and then quickly concentrate on theKYO technique. The third day, perform RIN 3 times, then KYO3 times, then focus on the TOH technique, and so on until, on theninth day, you will perform each technique 3 times and then focuson the ZEN technique. Perform each technique to the best ofyour ability.

The experienced student may either complete the ritual twice daily,(morning and evening), or you may double the length of time foreach step. This 9-day process will initiate a new level of practiceand understanding of the entire Kuji-In System. As you practiceevery nuance of the listening and speaking exercises, you will seeyour life transform right before your eyes. You will become hap-pier and more fulfilled. By remaining available to every type of

knowledge at every level, you will gain much more knowledge thanwhat is transmitted to you by your five senses. You will learn sim-ply by listening, by watching, by contemplating, by allowing thetruth to reveal itself to you. When you achieve this level of accom-plishment, then, when you speak, only beautiful experiences willoccur as a result of what you have said.

The 63-Hour Kuji-in Self-Initiation Process

The ultimate Kuji-In experience is usually passed on to a studentin the context of an Initiation which is performed under the guidance of a Master. However, there are many students who donot have direct access to a Master in a Temple, yet who may stilldesire to have the experience of Initiation. In order to be able tohave a genuine Initiation experience, the student must learn howto raise their energy sufficiently to enable them to receive the transformative experience that is a fundamental part of anauthentic Kuji-In Initiation: they must experience the phenomenaof revelation that cannot be expressed with words.

This Initiation experience should not be attempted by any studentuntil the student is thoroughly conversant with the entire Kuji-Insystem. Attempts to rush such a process will be fruitless. However, for those who have put an earnest effort into learning the steps, this 63 hour process will produce an astonishing amount of ener-gy. Although the Initiation process will most certainly produce thedesired transformative effects, this intensive initiatic gauntlet mayalso manifest a multitude of unusual physical reactions in the student. It should therefore be used only when you honestly feelready for such an experience. You should terminate the processthe moment you feel: too much pain; a loss of eyesight or hearing(even for a moment); troubling visions, or if you have any intense-ly troubling or unbearably painful experience.

- 101 -

Page 221: Kuji in Complete 33

When you begin this process, be absolutely certain that you are ina safe place where you will not be disturbed for the duration of theInitiation. Set up the area where you will be performing theInitiation so that you will not be injured if you fall to the floor. Donot be surprised if you experience a few mild electric shocks anddo not give up at the first sign of discomfort. Please understandthat everyone has a different experience with the Kuji-InInitiation. In fact, every student has a unique experience with theentire Kuji-In transformative process because of the diversity ofthe traditions and applications which comprise it.

The process is simplicity itself: Practice RIN for 7 hours. Thismay be accomplished by performing the RIN Kuji one hour eachday for seven days, or 3.5 hours for two (2) consecutive days, orcontinuously for seven (7) hours (all in one day). Once you havecompleted the RIN Kuji series, you will do the same for KYO,TOH, SHA… until you have completed 63 hours of Kuji-In train-ing in no more than 63 days.

In order for this process to be successful, you should not skip evenone day of practice during the Self-Initiation. However, if youbegin to experience too many uncomfortable physical symptoms, slow the process down to one hour per day. If you find that eventhat is too hard on you, you are not yet ready for the Initiation andyou should return to building up your energy system by using thenormal practice. Once you feel that you are better prepared, youmay re-start the process a few weeks later.

- 102 -

Page 222: Kuji in Complete 33

For each practice period you will perform:

- The Active Qi-Gong technique of your choice, 2 minutes.- Air and Energy Breathing technique, 2 minutes.- Kuji-In invocative technique (Length determined by your plan).- Silent contemplation after your practice for the day.

Conclusion: self-transformation

It has been a while now, that we behave the way we do. It has beena long time since the beginning of humanity. From the animal origins of our body, up to the pretentious assertion that we aresentient and knowledgeable of many great secrets, the geneticfoundation of our human life still has a lot to do with the way weact, and react.

It will take some effort, and comfort, to become aware of all that we are, and consciously take back the mastery of our ownexperience of life. But we are not alone, and we are not left with-out help. We firmly hold the tools that will serve us in our quest. With a balance of practical application and self contemplation, wewill succeed in remembering who we are, by acknowledging thetruth as it is revealed to us from within.

The goal of our path is to transform ourselves, starting downfrom our deepest foundations, into the root of our existence, tofree ourselves from our apparent bodily shell and to redefine ourselves as the glorious living experience of the Spirit. As we advance on the path, the transformation looks more like aremembering of what we left behind when we came to be human. We work ceaselessly to sublimate the inner workings of our mindand our body; to accept our human animal being as the beauty ofcreation, although we thrive to remember our wondrous spiritualorigin.

I pray that you will have the courage to apply the techniques andthe wisdom long enough for it to unveil the treasures it carries. Ipray that you will find yourself, that you will remember who youare, and that you will look unto yourself as the wonderful beingyou created at the moment of your own origin.

God bless you, seeker of the truth,
