Kuzikus is a private wildlife reserve in the Kalahari region of Namibia.
We strive to conserve aspects of ecological integrity in the Kalahari ecosystem in
cooperation with the Namibian Nature Conservation Authorities.
For the past 30 years we have combined tourism, education and research directly with
nature conservation projects.
By visiting Kuzikus you support our projects. You will have the opportunity to individually
experience and explore the Kalahari, gaining a better understanding of conservation
in the region.
Wildlife Reserve
More than 3 000 wild animals are living on a 10 500 ha conservation area.
You can observe different species of antelopes, black rhinos, warthogs, plains zebras,
giraffes, ostriches, smaller types of predators as well as numerous birds (more than
120 species) in their natural habitat.
It is an unique experience to move freely in the wide open spaces among the herds of
animals even outside the vehicle, on foot or on horseback.
The Black Rhino Project
The population of the Black Rhino has decreased over the past 100 years from several
100 000 rhino to a mere 3 000 as of today.
For over 15 years Kuzikus is supporting the national ‘Black Rhino Custodian Project’ for the
conservation of this ‘mega herbivore’ which has become so critically endangered.
At Kuzikus you have the opportunity to see these rare animals in the open savannah and you
will be able to learn more about the conservation project.
BRinK - Biological Research at Kuzikus
BRinK is a program for students and nature enthusiasts, who want to deepen their
knowledge of nature.
Within the scope of professionally conducted research projects in co-operation with biologists
you will be able to research, analyse and document various ecological interactions.
The results of the research projects support the Kuzikus management in running the reserve
on a sustainable basis.
Guest Lodge
Kuzikus offers full board accommodation. We have
five rooms, all with en-suite bathrooms. The rooms are
tastefully furnished and in an african style.
The menu offers a great variety of food from regional
products.
Leisure time and relaxation is rated high. The swimming
pool and lush garden offer a tranquil area to sunbathe,
read or simply cool down after a fulfilling day in the
wilderness.
Kuzikus has been awarded with the maximum of 3 stars
from the Namibian Hotel Authorities.
As a family run business we place emphasis on individual
service and a private atmosphere.

Kalahari Wilderness Excursion
This 1 to 3 day excursion can be arranged for a small group
of max. 6 persons. It offers a deeper insight into the
ecosystem of the Kalahari and its flora and fauna.
Also, with the help of a native bushman you will learn stalking
and the interpretation of tracks and signs.
30 years of experience on Kuzikus as well as the fundamental
knowledge of the host family consisting of qualified biologists
makes the excursion a unique one.
Horse Riding
We offer horse riding for children and adults from beginner to advanced level.
You can choose from a 1 to 2 hour ride or 1/2 day horse trail taking you deeper into the
reserve.
Also a 1 1/2 day combination trail consisting of a game drive, horse trekking and hiking with
overnight stay in a tented camp can be arranged.
Holiday with the Family
Situated in a region free from malaria, Kuzikus is optimally suited for a family vacation.
The ‘yard’ with horses, dogs and chicken offers a lot of space for children to play.
The host family is happy to cater for individual requests.

Arrival
You can reach KUZIKUS via the tarred road (C23) from Windhoek to Dordabis.
The tarred road ends at Dordabis and from there on you continue on a well kept gravel
road for a further 90 km.
At the turnoff to Leonardville, you leave the C23 and follow the road M51 for 1 km
(caution - beware of severe bend to the left), then you turn to the right onto road
no. D1423 and drive on for 15 km. Then follow the road sign to KUZIKUS. You will reach
us via a farm road after approx. 15 km.
Kuzikus is situated approx. 180 km south east of Windhoek and 150 km from Windhoek
International Airport.
