Celebration of Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda

As 2013-14 has been declared ‘the year of National awakening’, a week-long theme based activities have been organised in the Vidyalaya on the auspicious occasion of birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda.

The celebration started with a great feeling of proud & dignity. To begin with, Mrs Amita Dobhal TGT Hindi delivered a speech in the morning assembly highlighting the various contribution of swami Vivekananda.

A speech competition was organised on 04.02.13 in the Vidyalaya premises. Students with full zeal & zest participated in it & tried their level best to present the world fame speech of Swami Vivekananda. The Students who emerged out as the winners for their competition are as follows.

Next came a quiz based on the life of Swami Vivekananda which was organized house wise. With a high level of motivation all the participants from all four houses were well prepared for this competition. There was a cut throat competition among them. The questions based on the life of Swami Vivekananda filled the students’ hearts with an inspiration for the service of our nation. The visual round could give a glimpse of the great reformer. The Shivaji house came out as the winner and won the appreciation of one & all. In the same sequence, a slogan writing & painting competition were organized on 02.02.13. The students with full enthusiasm participated in it & with their innovative ideas they produced beautiful paintings. Arushi Vashisht(XC), Nandini Sharma (X C), Aditya (X A), Shubham Kant(VII A) and Nutan(X C) Lohit (IX C), Vaishali (X C) Apurva (X C) won the positions in these two competitions.

Under the sports activities, our school organized the inter house Football, Handball and Volleyball tournament in football U 19(boys). Shivaji house is the winner and Ashoka house is runner up. In Volleyball(Girls) the winner is Raman house and runner up is Tagore house. In handball(boys) the winner is Tagore house and the runner up is Ashoka house. In handball U -14(Girls) the winner is Shivaji House and runner up is Raman house.

To continue with the thread of celebrations, a Power Point Presentation competition was organised by the Integrity club of the Vidyalaya. The Students prepared PPTs comprising of the life history & contribution of Swami Vivekananda. The result is as follows.

Thus the birth anniversary of the great hero was celebrated in a befitting manner. It could remind us of the great deeds of Swami Vivekananda a great scientist, a patriot, a philanthropist, a sociologist & of course a religious teacher. In the coming days many other activities will also be organized in the Vidyalaya on the pious occasion of birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda.
