Holiday Extravaganza!

What are you (KWI Members) doing Saturday, November 22nd, 2014? Did I hear someone say they’re partying? Well, I hope the party you’re referring to is the KWI Holiday Celebration! In-stead of a meeting this month, we are having our annual event at First Congregational Church (1701 SW Collins), starting at 11:00 AM –2:00 P.M. If you would like to attend, please bring a snack or favorite dish that you wouldn't mind sharing with the group. We also have an auction to help raise funds for next year. Bring a gift (writing related or not/does not need to be wrapped) to be auctioned off. For more information, please contact Tish Glasson or Morgan Rothenberger. Hope to see everyone at the party!

Published in September newsletter. No corrections suggested. Treasurer’s Report: Beginning balance $2724.85. Ending balance $2724.85. Correspondence: None Unfinished Business: By-Laws – Posted to website. Blog – New blog posted thanks to Cheryl Swayne. Tish will provide all bloggers with a chocolate candy bar of their choice. KWI goals for new year – The board will meet to discuss this at their next meeting. Items submit-ted at last meeting were more activities than goals. Newsletter – Please send items to Romie. He will send out a reminder the week before articles are due. Website – Billie-Renee will be updating the Members’ page on the website following the fall regis-tration drive. Members are encouraged to send her a short bio, a photo and a link to their websites if available. Her email is knightdrk2@yahoo.com. Bloody Gavel – Shayne and Tish will get the entries from Morgan and complete the layouts. Retreat – Shayne and Leslie will work together to find a place for the retreat. Suggestions included The Elms, The Arbor in Nebraska City, Unity Village in KC, Platte City, MO retreat site (Brookwood?) lodges, The Savoy in KC, The Barn in Valley Falls, KS.

Founding member, Linda Madl announces the release of new ghost stories

for the fall season: A Fine Collection of Urns and other ghost stories availa-

ble from Kindle and Smashwords. Inspired by Halloween and the long dark

evenings perfect for fireside reading, these stories are meant to scare read-

ers a bit while exploring the dark side. She has also re-released Happy Holi-

days from the Gates of Hell, which features stories from Trespassing Time,

a ghost story collection by Kansas authors Barbara Baldwin, Jerri Garret-

son, Sheri L. McGathy (cover artist), and Linda Madl. Also re-released for

the holiday season is The Christmas Pearls and Speak of Love, a full-length

Scottish historical romance. Enjoy some fun reading on your e-reader.
