Marketing and Accounting Internship Kyle Busch Motorsports is a corporation that began in order for Sprint Cup driver, Kyle Busch, to hone in his racing skills by purchasing his own Legends car in 2003. Over the past ten years the company has expanded and now is the home for the No. 77 Toyota Camry that competes in the Nationwide Series as well as the No. 18, No. 51, and No. 54 Tundra’s that race in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. Over the summer I worked at the new 77,000 square foot green race shop located in Mooresville, North Carolina. For ten weeks I served as an intern focusing on the company’s marketing and accounting initiatives. During my time as intern I primarily ran the race shop’s 2,000 square foot retail store including pricing and managing inventory within the company’s software as well as numerous other projects. My time spent at Kyle Busch Motorsports allowed me to form new friendships and relationships that will remain throughout my professional life. The experiences and skills that I gained through my time working with incredible colleagues further cemented my future plans within the realm of finance. The final portion of my summer project included participation in Commonwealth Financial Network’s Advanced Topics Symposium. This three- day conference allowed me to sit in on lectures and discussions that will foster my ability to be a successful financial advisor in the future. Classes included instruction on financial software, markets, and overall work skills. Participation in this prestigious conference allowed me to gain knowledge of financial services and ignited my excitement for working in the field of finance in the future!
