It´s a weather instrument that measures temperature.

It´s a weather instrument that points to the direction of the wind.

It´s a weather instrument that measures the quantity of rain.

WIND AND CLOUDS

WIND is air in movement. Types:

1º) Breeze: It´s a gentle wind.

2º) Gale: It´s a strong wind.

3º) Hurricaine: It´s a very, very strong wind.

PRECIPITATION

CLOUDS are made of water drops. Water falls as rain. Sometimes, it snows , it sleets and hails

THE WEATHER

Weather changes from season to season and from day to day.

We use symbols to represent weather.

It´s rainy

It´s cloudy

It´s windy

It´s snowy

It´s sunny

It´s stormy

It´s foggy

AIR

· Air forms the atmosphere around the Earth. Air has oxygen.

· Plants, animals and Humans need oxygen to live.

· Wind is air in movement.

WATER

· Water is very important for Human Beings.

· Water has no smell, taste or colour. Water is a liquid.

· The Earth is covered by water (oceans, rivers and lakes)

· Water from the sea is SALT WATER. Water from lakes and rivers is FRESH WATER. DRINKING WATER is clean water we have at home.

· We can find water in three states:

SOLID

Example: ice

LIQUID

Example: water

GAS

Example: water vapour

THE WATER CYCLE

The water cycle is a continuous process of:

1º)EVAPORATION : the Sun heats the water. The water goes up, to the sky and evaporates.

2º)CONDENSATION: water vapour forms clouds.

3º) PRECIPITATION: it rains.

4º) COLLECTION: water falls into river and lakes. Water goes back to the sea.
