2. Install the Software1. Close all programs.2. Insert the HP Scanjet 8270 HP Document Drivers and

Tools CD that is appropriate for your language and operating system.

3. Follow the onscreen instructions to finish the installation.

Windows: If the installation does not start automatically: On the Start menu, click Run and type: D:setup.exe (where D is the letter of the CD-ROM drive).Macintosh: Double-click the CD icon on the desktop. Then double-click on the install icon in the window. Note: You can find ISIS and Doc Twain drivers¹ and Quick Scan in “HP Scanjet 8270 HP Document Drivers and Tools” CD [1]ISIS and Doc Twain drivers licensed from EMC Corporation. ISIS is a registered trademark of EMC Corporation.

3. Connect the Scanner and Accessories in the Order Shown

1. Connect the ADF/TMA unit by inserting the hinges on the unit into the hinge slots on the back of the scanner bed.

2. Connect the accessory cable from the back of the ADF/TMA unit to the scanner flatbed.

3. Connect one end of the power cable to the power port on the scanner and the other end to the power adapter. Connect the power adapter to a surge protector or a grounded wall outlet.

4. Connect one end of the USB cable to the USB port on the back of the scanner and the other end to a USB port on your computer.

4. To Scan1. Remove the protective film from the scanner glass, if

present. 2. Place a picture face down on the scanner glass and

close the lid.3. Press the Scan Picture button.Scanner Buttons
