La Jolla High School has been an integral part of the La Jolla community’s learning and education since 1922. The high
school is surrounded by residential housing and is located south of downtown La Jolla near private and public entities
including the University of California San Diego, Salk Institute, Scripps Institute of Oceanography, and Scripps Clinic and
Research Foundation.
La Jolla High School sits on a 14.27-acre lot and consists of 22 permanent buildings, constructed between 1940 and
2003. Stadium facilities were added during the stadium remodel in 2017. The total building area is approximately
194,000 square feet. The campus features an aquatic center, athletics stadium, two gyms, a small practice field, tennis
courts, library/media center, cafeteria, and an auditorium. Currently, La Jolla HS serves close to 1,600 students.

La Jolla High School’s stadium has been upgraded and features more than 15,000 square feet of new facilities construction. New buildings were constructed on the West side of the campus in support of school athletics.

The Whole Site Modernization project will improve upon the learning environment, health, safety and security of the stu-
dents as well as comply with accessibility throughout campus. Here are the proposed items that are being considered
and are not limited to:
