There was once a raindropnamed Troy. Troy lived in agreat big cloud with a whole lotof other droplets.

Troy was a happy little droplet,full of life and spunk Like allthe other raindrops he livedwith, he was eager to grow intoa full size raindrop and be ableto fall to the earth below.

Haba una vez una gotita de aguallamada Perlita. Viva en una nubemuy grande junto a muchasotras gotitas.

Perlita era muy feliz, dinmica y

vivaz. Como todas las demsgotitas con las que viva, Perlita semora de impaciencia por crecer yconvertirse en una gota de lluviahecha y derecha, bien gordita, y aspoder caer a la tierra.

Sometimes Troy and his friendswould get together and talk aboutwhere they wanted to fall. Somewanted to fall on a lake. Otherswanted to be used to water a thirstygarden full of flowers.

It was at these times that Troywould feel sad.Ill never grow intoa real raindrop. He thought,Andeven if I did, how could one drop

ever make any difference in theworld? I could never be much of a

help to anybody.

A veces se juntaba con susamigas y hablaban del lugar enel que les gustara caer. Unassoaban con descender en unlago. Otras queran caer en un

jardn sediento lleno de flores.

En esos momentos, Perlita sesenta triste. No creo que lleguea ser nunca una gota de lluviapensaba; y aunque as fuera,

qu puede hacer en el mundouna simple gota de agua? No leservir de mucho a nadie.

Who is it? Troy asked.

Its me, said the voice. But Troy still

couldnt see anyone. Then he realized

that it was his invisible friend, GentleBreeze. Gentle Breeze frequentlycame to play with Troy, somethingthat Troy always enjoyed.

Perlita.

I feel small and unimportant,replied Troy.

Cheer up, Troy! Gentle

Breeze replied. You may feel

small, but when small thingswork together and each one does

its part, then important thingshappen.

En fin, ya me tengo que ir.Hay unos amigos que menecesitan para que los ayude acrear un viento recio que mueva

friends need me to help turnsome windmills, get somesailboats going and blow

some kites up in the air. Thinkabout what I told you, Gentle

Breeze said. Then, with a softblow, Gentle Breeze carriedTroy back to his cloud anddisappeared.

Poco despus, el tiempo cambiy se levant viento. Perlita sintique ella misma creca a medidaque el vapor de agua del aire frola iba cubriendo. Se hizo cada

vez ms grande. A ese ritmopronto alcanzara el tamao deuna gota de lluvia y sera muypesada para seguir flotando en lanube.

Viraznel viento, llevo aPerlita y a sus amigas lejos de lacosta y las internaron en tierrafirme.

Shortly afterwards, the weatherchanged and the wind pickedup. Troy felt himself growingas the cold air blew over him.He got bigger and bigger and at

this rate, he would soonbecome a full size drop ofwater that would be too big tostay in the cloud.

Windsor Wind blew Troy andhis friends far from the coastuntil they were well inland.

Plaf!!! Perlita levant la cabeza ymir a su alrededor. No haba tierra.No era un campo. No era un lago.Sonri forzadamente al darse cuentade que haba cado en el suelo de

Splat!!! Troy lifted hishead and looked around. Itwasnt soil. It wasnt a

field. It wasnt a lake. He

forced a half-cracked

smile as he realized that hehad landed on a concretecourtyard. Now he couldonly sit and wait, quietlyrepeating to himself hisresolution to be the

happiest little raindropthere ever was.

patio se llen de botas de cauchoy coloridos impermeables.Momentos despus, varios niosse pusieron a chapotear y jugar enlos charcos recin formados.Perlita se divirti mucho mirandoa los nios, que se rean,zapateaban y salpicaban en lalluvia.

courtyard, and in a momentseveral children were busysplashing in the puddles thatthe rain shower had left. Troylistened as they giggled andlaughed, stomping andsplashing in the puddles

form a stream and goexploring!

Troy was about to jointhem when he saw abeautiful rose who was allwithered. The rose wasplanted in an area under theporch that did not get muchrain. In an instant, Troyknew what to do andstarted to swim to her withall his might.

Hey, lets save the rose!

Troy called out to hisfriends.

next, Troy was surroundedby a beautiful fragrance. Hefelt content and at peaceinside.
