Patients must also be tested for illicit drug use.

Instrumentation

Immunoassays for single drugs can be quantitative and the Beckman Olympus AU has a semi-quantitative mode for drug classes (ie Opiates, Benzos) – but these assay still use antibodies and have limitations.
