TherotarytubefurnacesoftheRSRCseriesareparticularlysuitableforprocessesinwhichcontinuouslyrunningbatchmaterialisheatedshort-time.Theserotaryfurnacescanbeusedveryflexiblyforvariouspurposes.Therotarytubefurnaceisslightlyinclinedandbroughttothetargettemperature.Thematerialisthenfedcontinuouslyatthetopofthepipe.Itpassesthroughtheheatedzoneofthetubeandfallsoutofthepipeatthelowerend.Thetimeoftheheattreatmentdependsontheangleofinclination,thespeedofrotationandthelengthoftheworkingtube,aswellasfromtheflowpropertiesofthebatchmaterial.Equippedwiththeoptionallyavailableclosedfeedingsystem,therotarytubefurnacecanalsobeusedforprocessesinadefinedatmosphereorinavacuum.Dependingontheprocess,batchandrequiredmaximumtemperature,worktubesmadeofdifferentmaterialsareused.

Withthefurnacechambercontrol,thetemperatureisonlymeasuredinthefurnacechamberoutsidetheworkingtube.Thisprotectsthethermocouplesfromdamageandaggressivebatch.Thecontrolisslowtoavoidovershoots.Sincethetemperatureinsidetheworkingtubeisnotmeasuredinthismode,asignificanttemperaturedifferencecanoccurbetweenthebatchtemperatureinsidethetubeandthefurnacechambertemperaturedisplayedinthecontroller.

Withanadditionalchargethermocouple,the"chargecontrol"modecanmeasurethetemperatureinthefurnaceaswellasthetemperatureinsidetheworkingtube.Thisenablesthebatchtemperaturetobecontrolledverypreciselyandquickly.Chargecontrolcanbeusedwithalltubefurnaces,withtheexceptionoftheRDandRTseries.

Three-Zone Furnace Chamber Controls

Theheatedlengthisdividedintothreeheatingzones.Thetemperatureismeasuredviaonethermocoupleperzone,whichispositionedoutsidetheworkingtubebetweentheheatingwires.Thesidezonesarecontrolledviaasetpointoffsetinrelationtothemiddlezone.Inthisway,theheatlossatthetubeendscanbecompensatedinordertoachieveanextendedzoneofconstanttemperature(+/−5K).
