  • Assay Library

While there are many functions to a gamma counter, the most important task is obviously running your assays.

Central to the design philosophy of the Genesys Genii™ software, is the Assay Library. In the Assay Library, you may program over 30 single and dual label assays.

Assay parameters such as tube loading order, data reduction method, QC ranges, and more are stored here. On a daily basis, you simply select the assay you wish to run and load your tubes. No tiresome question and answer session, just run. It couldn’t be easier.

  • Data Reduction Data reduction software should be easy to use, At the same time, it should be comprehensive enough to handle any commercial RIA and most research needs.

It is important to be able to view and edit the curves “on the fly” so that you can identify and fix any potential problems before you waste valuable time counting samples.

  • Data Reduction• Flexible options allow you to

choose the ideal parameters for the best results. Flexible data reduction means tighter controls.

    • Curvefits: Point to Point, Weighted Straight Line, Straight Line, Cubic Spline and 4 Parameter Logistic.

    • Graph Paper: Linear-Linear, Linear-Log, Log-Log, Log-Linear, Logit-Log.

    • Response Variables: CPM, %B/B0, %CPM/HiSTD, K(CPM/REF1).

    • The power to calculate RIA, IRMA, Ratio, screening and research assays.

  • Dual Label Counting

    • The Assay Library allow you to enter up to two different dual label assays. Counting both isotope simultaneously.

    • Spill down correction automatically removes the higher energy isotope from the lower isotopes window, no more guessing, no contamination.

  • Isotope Library

    • The Isotope Library is designed to store parameters for up to ten different isotopes.

    • Upper and lower window settings, efficiency, and reference source data may be stored.

    • The Genesys Genii™ has uniquely designed detectors. Extra mass below the well increases counting efficiency for higher energy isotopes. This allows the Genesys Genii™ to effectively count isotopes with energies up to 1 MEV.

    • Heavy lead shielding around the detectors keeps background levels very low. Lower background means increased sensitivity and the ability to count lower activity samples with confidence.

  • How many detectors do you need?

    10 wells 8 wells 6 wells

    5 wells 4 wells 3 wells

    2 wells 1 wells

The Genesys Genii™ is designed to fit your work load. Do you count 60 samples a day or 6000 samples? There is a Genii™ just right for you.

    The Genesys Genii™ comes in 8 different models with, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8 or 10 detectors.

What model Genesys Genii™ do you want?

  • Decay Corrected Stored Curve

    • MAINTAIN ACCURACY: The stored assay standards are corrected for isotope decay, minute by minute. Verifying Quality Control tubes gives added assurance.

    • SAVE TIME: Since your standards are stored, you are only running the QC's and unknowns. This saves the user time in sample preparation and reading the assay. This improves the turn-around time; which is especially important in Stat situations.

    • SAVE MONEY: Tubes and reagents are saved each time a stored curve is used. This allows for doing tests in-house that were once send outs because of the low volume.

  • Crosstalk Correction

High energy isotopes emit radiation that can cross, even through lead shielding, to the adjacent detectors and contribute to the count rate measured by those detectors.

The Xtalk (crosstalk) correction feature removes this “crosstalk" effect, allowing the resultant counts in each detector to be true net counts from the source being counted within each detector.

  • Multi-Channel Analyzer

    • At the heart of the Genesys Genii’s electronics is a powerful 4096 (12 bit) analyzer. The MCA allows a level of precise calibration not achievable with conventionally designed counters.

    • The Genesys Genii™ can handle high count samples well over 10,000,000 CPM.

    • With the ability to divide the energy spectrum into 4096 “slices”, you have the ability to view any sample in order to identify it’s contents.

    • Guarantee the purity of of your tracer, or identify that old source that’s been floating around your lab so you know how to dispose of it.

  • Automatic Detector Gain Calibration

    • Using its powerful multi-channel analyzer, the Genesys Genii HE™ has an automatic calibration routine to adjust the gain of each well according to the I125, Co57 or Cs137 spectrum.

    • For daily Q.C., you only need to run a quick efficiency check to make certain that the calibration factors in place are still accurate, and the instrument is functioning properly. This efficiency check quickly determines wether or not any drift has occurred and if so, informs the operator that they should run an automatic gain calibration.

    • Daily checks routines provide fast and simple ways to monitor system performance without the hassle and time of running a complete calibration every day.

  • Quality Control Software

The Genesys Genii™ comes equipped with software to allow quality control evaluation and storage.

Probably the most useful feature of all within the QC software, is its ability to update the QC limits. There are no manual calculations involved, Genesys™ does all the work when you select UPDATE LIMITS.

With complete QC reports, including Levey-Jennings charts, no more manual plotting is required.

After run number 31 is reached, the oldest run is removed and all other runs moved up one. In this way Genesys™ always keeps the most current 30 QC runs available. As you can see, Genesys™ QC software is extremely versatile and comprehensive and an integral part of the Genesys Genii™ Series.

  • Data Output

Since the Genesys Genii™ has a build-in computer with comprehensive data reduction, an external computer is not needed.

However some facilities like to keep data archived. For this purpose the Genesys Genii™ is equipped with two RS232C serial ports.

One port is used to output to a serial printer such as the SII DPU-414.

The second port is used to output data to a Mac, PC, Linux, Unix computer or LIS.

  • Compact & Economical

    • The Genesys Genii’s electronics incorporate state of the art technology. Using high density components allows our engineers to design with far fewer components. Being able to minimize components makes a much more reliable design.

    • We used our 25 + years of experience in nuclear electronics design to make the Genesys Genii™ an instrument you can count on for many, many years.

    • Weighing 92 lbs (41.8 kg) in the 10 detector model and measuring 20” (51cm) x 13.5” (34.3cm) x 10.5” (26.6cm), the Genesys Genii™ can fit into even the smallest space.

    • No other counter comes close to the features packed into the Genesys™.
