Lacerte Tax Year 2018 R1 preview install instructions

Pre-requisites: 1. You should have a valid MyAccount login. 2. Your Lacerte license should be renewed for TY18. 3. Download TY18 program installer from this link.

Installation instructions:

1. Run the websetup18.exe (downloaded from this link )

2. Follow the prompts to complete the installation for Lacerte 2018 Tax program.

1. Download TY18 program installer from this link

2. Run / double click on websetup18.exe

3. Click Next on the Welcome screen

4. Read the EULA and click Accept.

5. Click Next.

6. Select the option “Login to MyAccount and download PREP file” and click Next. If you have TY17 installed in your machine you will not get this window and you directly go to step #8

7. Enter MyAccount login details and click Sign In

8. Select the firm (This might not appear in case your credentials aren’t linked to multiple CANs) and click OK.

9. Choose Recommended or the Custom installation based on your requirement and click Next.

10.Review your installation path, modules etc. before proceeding for actual installation and click Install.

11.On successful installation Restart the system if prompted.

12. Launch Lacerte Tax 2018 program by double clicking on the shortcut given on your desktop.

13.Login using your MyAccount credentials.

FAQs:

1. I don’t see/ not able to download prep.18 file on MyAccount site, Why? TY18 PREP file (PREP.18) will not be available for download on the MyAccount page until R1, though the license has been renewed for TY18. But installer will manage to get the prep file in the backend and proceed for installation

2. Why am I seeing MyAccount login during this installation?

You will be asked to login to MyAccount during installation to check for the valid license (in case you haven’t renewed). Please call the customer support for help in renewing the license and installation, if required. Image for your reference:
