BIODATA

Rajesh Ramloll is currently Assistant Solicitor-General at the Attorney-General’s Chambers. He is currently a board member of the Financial Services Commission.

He is the current President of the International Fiscal Association, Mauritius Branch. He also acts for the Mauritius Revenue Authority before the Supreme Court in Mauritius and before the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council.

Mr Ramloll is a Barrister-at-Law and holds a specialist LLM in taxation from the University of London.

Mr Ramloll has for the last ten years been involved in tax treaty negotiations and is a tax assessor of the OECD Global Forum. He has been the treasurer of the Mauritius Bar Association. He regularly writes in International Tax Journals.

RAJESHSHARMA RAMLOLL

James Benoit is the CEO and Executive Director at AfrAsia Bank Ltd. James was previously a global management executive with the Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Group for 16 years in emerging and developing markets in China, Philippines, Hong Kong, the Middle East, Canada and Mauritius. Mr Benoit is a CFA charterholder and holds a Bachelor of Commerce.

He is also a co-founder of the local Chapter of the CFA Institute which has won global awards for revitalization under his Presidency. He is a sought-after financial conferencespeaker and opinion leader published in media channels in South Africa, London, India, UK, Vietnam, Singapore, Philippines and Mauritius.

JAMES BENOIT, CFA

Mr Aaron Low, CFA is Principal of Lumen Advisors in San Francisco and Singapore. Mr Low currently serves as the Chair of the CFA Institute Board of Governors. He is also on the Board of Trustees for the Singapore Government Pension Fund and is a senior adviser to Minsheng Tonghui Asset Management in Shanghai. He is a Board Director at the Wealth Management Institute and Advisory Board of the BNP Paribas Hedge Fund Center.

AARON LOW, CFAMr Low is a CFA Charterholder, and is holder of a PhD in International Finance from the UCLA Anderson School of Management.

Previously, Mr Low worked as a Senior Portfolio Manager and Head of Asia-ex-Japan at PIMCO. Mr Low has also been actively involved at the CFA Institute in various capacities.

DrYousouf Ismael is theChiefExecutiveOfficerofGlobalFinance Mauritius. He is also a Board Director to the Bank of Mauritius and the Central Water Authority.

Previously he advised several governments and policymakers in Mauritius, Kenya, South Africa, India and Burkina Faso. He was the Chief Economist and Strategist to

one of the largest conglomerates in Mauritius and the Head of Strategy and Business Development at St Aubin Group.

Dr Ismael holds a PhD in Economics and a Postdoctoral degree from The University of Reading, UK. He also holds an MSc in Economics and Planning from the same University.

Dr YOUSOUF ISMAEL

Trevor Thom is a partner at African Alliance Limited. He also sits on various Boards and committees within the African Alliance Group and is a member of the South African Institute of Directors.

Mr Thom holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree majoring in accounting, a Bachelor of Accounting degree and is a qualifiedCharteredAccountant.

Mr Thom has extensive experience in the development

financearenaandhasbeeninstrumentalintheintroductionof unit trusts and money market funds to a number of financially underserviced markets and oversees AfricanAlliance’s asset management division which encompass domestic, international and pan African investment structures. Previously Mr Thom worked in London for an international investment bank, focusing on equity and equity derivative products.

Sunil Benimadhu is Chief Executive of the Stock Exchange of Mauritius (SEM) since May 1998 and the Chairman of Global Finance Mauritius.

Mr Benimadhu sits on the Board of the World Federation of Exchanges (WFE). He was the President of the African Securities Exchanges Association (ASEA) and was a member of the Executive Committee of the South Asian Federation of Exchanges (SAFE), as well as the Chairman

Bertrand Casteres holds a Master’s degree in applied mathematics,actuarialscienceandfinanceandanExecutiveMBA from HEC (Paris).

Mr Casteres has worked for major insurance companies in Europe. Before joining the Mauritius Union Group in January 2012 as head of internal audit, he worked in the internal audit department of Aviva Europe as audit senior manager inthefinancialmanagementandactuarialauditdepartment,

of the SADC Committee of Stock Exchanges (COSSE).

Previously, Mr Benimadhu worked in the Treasury Department of the African Development Bank (ADB) and as the General Manager of the National Mutual Fund Limited.

Mr Benimadhu holds a MBA in Finance and Investment, a D.E.A in Development Economics and a Maîtrise in Macro-Economics.
