Inspiration Room @ First Lutheran Church
Bringing community, praise, inspiration, and purpose to our daily lives through the love of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
While this is a room in the process of renovation, feel free to
check it out! It is located at the bottom of the west stairs in the
Sunday School Wing. Some ideas for use of the room include:
Sunday School/Bible Studies/Vision Boards -
Come and explore a higher vision for your life
through scripture, words, and pictures that give
visual encouragement towards your intentions and goals;
Yoga - with faith-based themes;
Workshops – inspiring a closer relationship with Christ Jesus.
These are a few ideas, but the possibilities are endless –
as are the God-given gifts and talents of our congregation!
Have an idea on your heart? Lead a session in the Inspiration Room!
The room can be booked for use through Lynne
by calling the church office (927-3420).
And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks
to God the Father through him. - Colossians 3:17
The last day for Sunday School will be May 6th. We will resume again in September after Labor Day -
be watching for the exact start date in future Lamplighters.
Mark your calendars for Vacation Bible School, “Game On” at First Lutheran, July 16th-20th.
Look for registration information coming soon in the weekend announcements and the June Lamplighter.
Upcoming Celebrations...

service, followed by a reception for our graduating seniors.

Stewardship Update
The “Mission of the Month” for April was the First Luther-an quilting ladies (total not available at time of printing). May’s MOTM will be “Relay for Life”, being collected on May 26
th-27
th.Thank you for your continued support for
all of our missions.
~ Sandy Estill, Chair
The Church Ladies Group appreciates your continued
support of the Operation Christmas Child project.
Just think of the joy in a child's spirit to be given a gift when they
may have never before received something special. The suggest-
ed donation for May and June would be monetary donations to
cover the shipping costs of our boxes and those of many around
the country who scrimp & save to fill boxes, but can't cover the shipping
costs. Each shoebox costs about $9.00 to ship. Another request would be
for anyone who may wish to sew Barbie, Ken, & Skipper clothes for dolls
that someone has to donate. The dolls are brand new but need more con-
servative clothing! Last year FL sent 24 boxes; the goal for this year is 50.
Please contact Sandy Swanson (563-927-3397) if you have questions.
Ladies Group Off in May
The Ladies Group will not be meet-ing in May. Enjoy
Mother’s Day, graduations, & hopefully some
warmer weather.
Join the First Lutheran Relay for Life Team!!
The Delaware County Relay for Life will be held Friday, June 29th
at the Delaware County Fairgrounds in Manchester. The event
goes from 5:00 P.M. to midnight. The Relay for Life is a way to
honor & remember those who have fought the battle with cancer,
and it also helps raise money for the American Cancer Society.
Sandy Estill is our FLC team captain. Anyone who is
interested in joining the First Lutheran team may sign
up on the clipboard in the narthex or online at any time.
If you register online, make sure you are registering for
the Delaware County - Manchester, Iowa event. Feel
free to contact Sandy with any questions at 563-608-2814.
