Outreach New year, and a new quilt for charity. Speaking of Chari-ties, if anyone here has a lead on a non profit organization that would benefit from our quilt I have forms and self addressed envelopes . This years quilt is a fun pattern. Easy as pie, and fun and really surprising! Kathy and I will be set up with fabric and instructions. See you!

Library

September came quickly! The sad side of that is that it sig-nals the end of summer; the bright side is that we can get

back to routines we love, especially our quilting. Remember the books you checked out in June, with good intentions of having a little quilt time/me time over the summer? I know it probably didn’t happen, but not to worry, you can check out the books again in September, or get new ones, and get down to seriously enjoying all the wonderful patterns and projects. This month we have added two new books to our Library:

Simply Modern Christmas by Cindy Lammon. While Christmas will probably always be associated with the tradi-tional red and green colours, “modern” Christmas colours are varied and vibrant. This lovely book has 14 Christmas projects that are bright and cheerful. I especially love the Christmas stockings that have patchwork patterns around the top.

A Cottage Garden: Stitch and Enjoy a Bounty of Beauti-ful Blossoms by Kathy Cardiff. This is the description of A Cottage Garden on amazon.ca: “Using wool as her medium and flowers as her muse, Kathy Cardiff brings her blossoming backyard garden to life in pro-jects that blend elegant beauty with a touch of primitive charm. Projects from pillows and sewing notions to table top-pers and wall quilts culminate in a stunning nine-block sam-

pler quilt bursting with blooms. Add basic embroidery-stitch details to give each flower, leaf, and vine Kathy's special brand of cottage style.”

I have never made anything using wool/felt, but the projects in this book are stunning. The book comes highly recom-mended by some of our members in the Guild and I can see why.

Looking forward to a busy quilting and Guild year! Marilyn L and Judy P.

No Free table this month due to Stash Sale and Shop of

the Month.
