Connection to the sessions
Go to the event agenda :
https://waterandbeyond.b2match.io/agenda
Click on Join Online session.
5 minutes before the beginning of the session
the button Join Online session will turn green
and you will be able to connect to the Zoom
webinar.
For any question about the webinars, refer to
the Zoom section.
Networking/matchmaking sessions
On the website of the event you can
program meetings for networking
sessions.
Go to participants list here and see who is available
for a meeting.

Request meetings and establish contact
You can submit meeting requests or/and send
a message in order to establish contact with
the suitable meeting partners.
Click on the participant card in order to see
participant's details and request meetings.

Accept the request and schedule the meeting
Once you ask for a meeting or receive a
request you can go to the meetings section:

Then you can accept, deny or reschedule it.
We encourage you to test your camera and
microphone by clicking on “Camera and
Microphone test”
Start the meeting
When it’s time for the meeting just
click on start meeting!

What is a Zoom Webinar?
Zoom Webinar is the online conference version
of Zoom. Attendees can follow the webinar,
choose the interpretation, but cannot turn on
their camera and microphone themselves but
can ask the floor by virtually raise hand.
Attendees can also Chat and using the Q&A.
Only panelists (speakers) are able to speak,
turn on their camera and share their screen.
Zoom Meetings / Breakouts: Every participant
can mute/unmute their microphone, camera
and share their screen.
Before a Zoom Webinar/Meeting
Hardwire your internet connection, it’s faster
and it avoids any Wi-Fi instability.
Use a rj45 (ethernet) cable from the router to
the computer. If you are not sure of the quality
of your connection you can test it here. Please
don’t open too many unnecessary tabs on your
browser.
Video and sound optimization for speakers
Audio
Headsets and USB microphones are best options to
reduce background noise and improve sound
quality. Be sure to be connected on Zoom on only
one device to avoid any audio feedback loops. Click
here to test your audio with zoom.

Be sure to have the light sources in front of you:
windows, lamps.

Connection to Zoom Webinar / Meetings
Browser and application:
Zoom can be used on a browser or via the zoom
application. Chrome and Mozilla Firefox are
recommended. Please be sure to update to the last
version of zoom here before the event.
For Commission employees, click on 'start from
your browser', following steps 1 and 2 indicated
in the image on your left.
Connection to sessions and breakouts groups
with Zoom
Click on the link of the session and follow the
instructions. (Links for each of sessions will be
communicated shortly.)
Please insert your name and email address. Use
the same email with which you are registered to
the event.
Click on Join the computer audio (even if you
are not a speaker), please leave you microphone
muted if you are not speaking.
Interpretation
Click on More (…) to select the language of your
choice (French or English) to listen the
interpretation. If you want to follow the session
live without interpretation leave this option on
“Off”.
Please note that interpretation is not available in
browser mode, but you can connect with your
phone aside to listen the interpretation.

What is Slido?
During the conference you will be called upon
to participate into different polls,
brainstorming and surveys as well as asking
questions to the speakers through Slido.
You can connect to Slido with a smartphone,
tablet or a tab into your computer browser.
We strongly recommend to use it on your
phone or tablet to have the best experience
during this event. Just go to the Sli.do of the
event and follow the instructions, it’s really
easy !
How to connect?
A hashtag and the QR code for polls, Q&A and
surveys will be shared on the screen at the
beginning of each session.
• Use the #number of the event that you
enter into the “Joining as participant” case
on https://www.sli.do/.
• Scan the QR code of the event with your
tablet and smartphone.
• A link that will be shared into the chat of
Zoom and Slack.

What is Slack?
Slack is a messaging platform that you can use
during the event.
You can participate to group discussions as
well as create private discussions with people
of your choice. There will also be a technical
channel to ask questions about the connection
to the virtual event and the use of the
externals tools.

How to use Slack
You are able to create the topic of your choice
with the “+” button on the right of channels
(B).
There are two main options into Slack :
• sending messages in a channel (B), this is a
group discussion on a particular topic
(#topic).
• Sending direct messages to the people of
your choice (A).
How to connect to Slack ?
If you decide to use Slack for group
discussions, we will share a link on the website
as well as in the chat of the Webinar to invite
participants to join.
You can connect to Slack on your Browser as
well as download the application on Android
or IOs.
