Together with the BA (Hons) in Landscape Architecture it aims to meet the demand for qualified landscape architects in Hong Kong and the nearby regions. Career Outcome Graduates of the 2-year conversion course are able to enter the industry as designers or technical staff in a variety of fields ranging from landscape design and planning, urban design, and landscape management to environmental consultancy, ecological design, or habitat creation. Graduates following the “4+1” route (see below) will be able to enter the pathway to becoming Registered Landscape Architects. Professional Recognition Graduates of THEi’s BA (Hons) in Landscape Architecture can enter directly into year 2 of the programme. This “4+1” mode has received Accreditation-in-Principle from the Hong Kong Institute of Landscape Architects (HKILA). An HKILA-accredited degree is a pre-requisite to admission to its professional practice examination and professional membership. HKILA professional members are eligible to become Registered Landscape Architects under the Landscape Architects Registration Ordinance. The programme has received recognition from the University of Gloucestershire of the UK (UoG), allowing graduates to articulate to their Master of Landscape Architecture degree with advanced standing. UoG’s MLA is recognised by the Landscape Institute of the UK and the International Federation of Landscape Architects, and thus HKILA.
