Lanier Theatre Company
Student Production Fee & Fundraiser Contract
2013-2014 Season
Dear Parent,
Lanier Drama Department is excited to have your student participating in one of our
drama classes. We trust that you have carefully read the class syllabus and conduct
forms in this contract packet. Please feel free to contact us with any questions or
concerns about the forms, grades or anything regarding your student using the
contact information in the Theatre Handbook or website.
All Production classes and extra-curricular productions require a fee or help with
fundraising from each student to help defray the cost of the materials used in our
department so that we may ensure the highest level of quality in our student work.
Class fees cover a wide range of supplies and needs, such as costumes, props,
lumber, hardware, tools, paint, lighting supplies, scripts, royalties, music, sound
supplies, promotional supplies, books, equipment and services, and much, much
more.
As Director of the Lanier Theatre Company, I am responsible for creating a
department budget each year, and we rely on every Theatre student to aid in raising
$100 per student, plus collecting additional fees for possible field trips, t-shirts, etc.
Varsity and Junior Varsity Production students are required to pay a $100 fee and aid
in our fundraising efforts. If you would like to sponsor another company member or
sponsor our show you can make a cash payment or check payable to Lanier Theatre.
All Theatre students experiencing financial hardship are still required to help with
department fundraising.
Please make sure to read all forms in the Theatre Handbook and have your
son/daughter return the last forms that require your information or signature in this
handbook. Forms are due by September 5th and count as a participation grade.
Please keep Theatre Handbook for your records.
We look forward to another productive year.
Sincerely,
Markos Hernandez
Lanier Theatre Company
By accepting acting or technical positions, in Production, I am making a commitment to the director, cast, and crew to do the following:
1. Work as a member of a team for the good of the show. I will set aside my personal
conflicts with other cast and crew members for the sake of the production.
2. Be on time at all rehearsals and all public performances.
3. I will conduct myself professionally while in the auditorium, at rehearsals, or while at any
other venues, because my behavior will negatively impact the Lanier Drama Department.
4. Learn all lines and blocking and complete all homework and technical assignments by the
established deadlines.
5. As an actor I am responsible for purchasing my own student or deluxe make up kit.
6. Refrain from touching things that are under jurisdiction of another actor or crew because I
know that doing so can cost money and valuable time.
7. Inform director and stage manager of any absences, in writing, at least 24 hours prior to the
rehearsal in which the absence will occur. In the case of emergencies, I will make every
attempt to notify the director and stage manager BEFORE the absence occurs.
8. Keep up my grades so that I am eligible for performance. I will use rehearsal time when I
am not onstage to do my homework and tutor my fellow cast members.
9. Wait quietly while not on stage so that I do not interrupt the important work of the rehearsal.
10. I will stay with the director during all drama events, and I will not roam the hallways or go off
campus.
11. Stay at the rehearsal until all notes have been given and the director dismisses me.
12. Stay up to date with calendar and announcements in class, via our website page on
www.purplepups.org, Reminder 101 Text, or www.edmodo.com
13. I will use the designated days/non-rehearsal days and times for tutorials, medical purposes,
special grooming and to resolve any other personal issues. I will not schedule any of these
events during rehearsal and performance times.
14. After rehearsals or theatre events, I will wait in the drama room until my transportation
arrives.
15. I will not use phones or any other media devices during rehearsals.

16. I understand that missing rehearsals or being consistently tardy can cause me to be
replaced.
17. I understand that I must be present during “Tech Week,” which is the week leading up to
our performance, and by not attending I will jeopardize my opportunity to perform.
18. I understand that I am given a grade for rehearsals and performance.
19. I understand I must dress appropriately and respectful to all rehearsals and performances.
-No short shorts & No tight fitted clothing!
-All actors and crew members must dress professionally while performing at other schools
or other locations.
-Technicians, including Stage Managers, are required to wear all black clothing during
shows
-No altering hair color, length or style during a rehearsal/performance period, unless
approved by the director
-No eating or drinking while in costume, or in the auditorium or any other stage.
20. I understand that I am obligated to hang my costume properly, clean my make-up area,
discard all trash and make sure our drama room and stage is clean.
21. I understand that I am responsible to store all my props and scenery in their designated
area.
22. Any violations of the above statements will result in demerits or expulsion from the cast.
I realize that I am being given responsibilities that will be difficult or impossible for someone
else to assume at the last minute and that other people will be depending on me. I will respect
the trust placed in me. I have examined the rehearsal schedule and I will come to all
rehearsals for which I am called. If I fail to maintain eligibility, miss rehearsals, or fulfill my
obligations, I understand I will be replaced and that the school will not refund the activity fee.
SUBSTITUTE POLICY
If there is an occasion in which a substitute teacher is present, good behavior is especially important. Be a warm host to the visiting teacher. Treat them as a guest in your "home." If I receive a report that a particular student or class has been disruptive or disrespectful, the consequence will result in a parent phone call and detention. Repeated offenses will require an office referral and more severe consequences.
