• June: paper, Third International WebCT Conference, more smart classrooms and wireless smart classrooms constructed

• Jan: CoES, BPA mandate approved
• Mar: talks at colleges of IT, Eng, Bus of the United Arab Emirates University, Al-Ain
• Apr: DCIT chooses IBM R31 for fall 2002, poster session, SUCCEED-Gateway Conference, 57 laptops awarded to faculty
• Jun: DCIT laptop help/repair center opens, laptop faculty development program begins
