 Strengthen the competitive position
 Gain new business contacts
 Gain access to new markets
 Develop new business fields
 Collaborations and long-term international strategic
partnerships arise across industries
Develop interfaces between
approx. 1.000 companies
First results and conclusionsafter two years in Austria
• The economic situation in the textile industry isbelow of the industrial average
• The still existing companies focused on niche market segments
• Textile companies are developing new market segments e.g. smart light weight constructions used for technical solutions
• Cross sectional technologies and competences are needed to reach the project aims.
Project ideasGloves with sensors: for machine safety to substitute light barrier. When the employee's hand is in the machine, the machine will stop
Solar grill: prototype is produced. Searching for producers. Spin doctor: www.sunsausage.com
Chair cushion: with heating elements in textiles, with integrated sensor technology. Used in garden, restaurants, sidewalk cafés, outdoor
Sensor-coat for robots to protect them from collision and damage, with integrated sensor technology
Intelligent clothing for e.g. firefighters, police, street workers: to increase their safety during their mission
Renewable fiber bundles replacing polyurethane foams

Example: ImB – Innovative with bionicsProject term: September 2013 - December 2014
Project partner: Clusterland OÖ GmbH, Innovations- und technologietransferSalzburg GmbH, HDU - Deggendorf - Technologie Campus Freyung
Tasks and objectives:Langfristig soll dies zu wirtschaftlich verwertbaren Innovationen führen. The aim of the Interreg project is to demonstrate the potential of the discipline of bionics as an innovation strategy for SMEs in Bavaria and Austria. Various activities are performed in special with small- and medium-sized companies. This should lead to economically exploitable innovations.

Cluster Collaboration ProjectsPlastics ClusterDeep drawing and injection moulding of conductive
structures
Partners:HUECK FOLIEN Gesellschaft m.b.H., Schöfer GmbH, plastic electronic GmbH
Topic:The project involved the selection of the materials for films, conductor paths and injection, the production of a film or film composite with conductive structures, deep drawing, pre-forming, back injection of the film and contacting via the external electronics.
Results:The project partners have succeeded in bringing the new moulded component concept to serial production maturity. Two applications have been developed and manufactured consisting of a touchskin® Presenter (remote PC control) and the touchskin® light control.
Success Story:On the basis of the project and the teamwork between the project partners, the Smart Plastics Platform has been founded and Sensitive Surface Technology developed.
