Today's discussion

In nuclear fusion reaction ICF technology is used to initiate nuclear fusion reaction by heating and compressing a fuel target in form of a pallet

Hybrid fusion is a proposed means of generating power by use of a combination of nuclear fusion and fission process.

In cold fusion scientists has make a try to done nuclear reaction at or near room temperature as compared to thermonuclear fusion reaction which requires temp. of millions of degree.

Laser fusion reactor

Principle – inertial confinement fusion (ICF)

In a strong spherical chamber of 2m radius, a small(1mm) Diameter pallet of 10 gm of solid or liquid fuel is injected into the cavity.

Several symmetrical located high energy laser beams are focused simultaneously on the fuel for about one nano sec.

Fusion hybrid Fusion hybrid is a proposed means of generating power by

use of a combination of fusion and fission process. Neutrons from fusion reactor would break down long-lived

radio active wastes from spent fuel (from nuclear reactors) and turn them into much-shorter lived elements.

The net effect would be to convert high level radio-active waste containing elements which need to be stored safely for 100000 years or more into fission products, such as barium, that fully decay in hundred of years and release of energy for use.

Cold fusion Cold fusion is a hypothetical type of nuclear reaction that

occurs at room temperature, as compared to thermonuclear fusion reaction which requires the temp of millions of degree.

There is currently no accepted theoretical model which would allow cold fusion to occur.

An experiment was reported in 1989 by martin fleischmann & proof. stanley pous, USA -
