How Well Does LASIK Work?

Depends on amount of correction required. With low to moderate myopia

Over 90% achieve 20/40 or better. About 50% achieve 20/20.

With high myopia (more then –7D) or high hyperopia (more than +4D), fewer achieve 20/40 or 20/20.

Complication rate is less than 2% after two years.

How Soon Will Your Eyes Heal?

Greater the correction, longer the time to heal. Eye sight usually improves immediately. For several months

Night vision might be poor. Some patients see glares, halos, and starbursts in

dim conditions. Dry eyes need frequent eye drops.

Eye sight continues to improve for six months.
