The Ranch is a proposed resort hotel that is about 40 acres. It was inspired by the local ranching culture. The main goal was to provide a destination area that is modern and rustic at the same time, but also sustainable, nature friendly and appealing to the users by providing access to multiple activities.

The Ranch
This project is located in a large block defined primarily by Rock Prairie Rd, Bird Pond Rd, HWY 30 and William Fitch Pkwy. in College Station, TX. The task was to study the landscape characteristics as both mapped and viewed on a site visit, document the analysis of those characteristics, determine which areas are suitable for the assigned land uses and complete a schematic land development plan. The site is about 4578 acres and only 10% of it was designated to develop The Ranch.

Diversity Plaza is centrally located along the main axis of Texas A&M University campus. It serves as an important node in campus, in both functional and physiological terms. The Plaza is surrounded by two historic buildings, the Cushing Library and Academic Building. Harrington building and the Biological Sciences building are also located along the boundary of the plaza.

The purpose of the project was to provide a design for a safe, walkable district within a mixed-use development. As a group member, I was in charge of designing the details of the plaza. The following pictures illustrate the design of the landscape, as well as the proposed arrangement of buildings.
