Born on February 3, 1963. 23rd Governor of the Reserve Bank of India on

September 4, 2013. Dr. Rajan was the Chief Economist and Director of

Research at the International Monetary Fund. Dr. Rajan's research interests are in banking,corporate

finance, and economic development

Dr. D. Subbarao(05-09-2008 to 04-09-13)

Born on August 11, 1949. 22nd Governor of the Reserve Bank of India. Dr. Subbarao was the Finance Secretary in the Ministry

of Finance, Government of India. Dr. Subbarao has wide experience in public finance. He was one of the first IITians to join the civil service.

Dr. Y V Reddy(06-09-2003 to 05-09-2008)

21st Governor and is a member of the Indian Administrative Service.

He has spent most of his career in the areas of finance and planning.

Dr. Reddy was India's Executive Director on the Board of the International Monetary Fund.

He has several publications to his credit mainly in areas relating to finance, planning and public enterprises.

Dr. Bimal Jalan(22-11-1997 to 06-09-2003)

20th Governor of India. Served as Chief Economic Advisor to Government of

India, Banking Secretary, Finance Secretary, Member Secretary of Planning Commission.

He had also represented India on the Executive Boards of the IMF and the World Bank.

Dr. C Rangarajan(22-12-1992 to 21-11-1997)

19th Governor of the Reserve Bank of India. Dr. C Rangarajan was a professional economist. He was also a member of the Planning Commission

and a member of the Tenth Finance Commission.
