Dear friends of sport,

I am extremely proud that Serbia and Belgrade have the chance to host the ECA Canoe Sprint Juniors & U23 European Championships. This is a very important event for Serbia and Serbian sport, but also an opportunity to launch further development of canoeing, which has glorious tradition among sports in our country.

The upcoming competition is an opportunity to get to know the tradition of this sport in the best way, as well as for Serbia to show to all visitors our hospitality and cultural, sporting and touristic potential.

Ministry of Youth and Sports has included canoeing in the first category of sports in 2013, which means that we allocate significant resources and fund a greater number of athletes.

Our canoeing team members so far have achieved remarkable results and a great success for Serbian sport. They are the best indicator that we do not have to worry about the future of the sport.

On behalf of the whole Canoe community, the International Canoe Federation and the Canoe Federation of Serbia, it is my great honour and privilege to welcome you all to Belgrade to the ECA Canoe Sprint Junior & U23 European Championships.

The tradition in the organisation of great international canoe sprint events is continuing. We have had the honour to host five Flatwater Canoeing World Championships held in 1971, 1975, 1978 and 1987. Two decades later, came the new era with the European Junior & U23 Championships in 2007, 2008 World University Flatwater Canoeing Championships and 2011 European Canoe Sprint Senior Championships.Being proud of what was shown then, we are convinced that we will outdo all of that this year.

The “Road to Tokyo” and the 2020 Olympics starts this year and we are looking forward to being a part of the start of another Olympic cycle, and to being able to host the competitors from 60 countries world wide, and to see some old friends and fresh faces compete at the iconic Ada Ciganlija venue.

Looking forward to an amazing competition and canoeing at it’s best, and welcoming you all once again here in Serbia!

Venue: Ada Ciganlija Regatta Course

All participants of the competition must be accredited. No access is possible to the course without an accreditation card.

Participating teams will arrive at the Accreditation Centre on the Venue (see Map 1, position 5).

You will not be accredited unless you have paid all your dues. Afterwards the team leaders may collect the necessary documents and body numbers.

Each team will receive one parking pass for a van or mini bus. Before leaving the accreditation centre team leaders will be asked to leave their and their team’s head coach’s cell phone number so they can be reached anytime during the competition and will also be asked to check and sign the departure info.

Acceptable methods of payment: cash (Euro)

The Organising Committee does not take responsibility for any extra service of the hotel, like mini-bar, telephone, parking, etc.; these costs are to be paid directly to the hotel.

TrANSPOrTATIONShuttle buses are running on a regular basis between the regatta course and the official hotels. You can find the routes and the timetables in the appendix. To find shuttle bus stop please see the map in appendix.

INFO DeSK Info desk for the team leaders is located in the Athlete’s area. Each team will receive the initial information package at the Accreditation Centre upon arrival. During the competition the staff at the Info desk will provide all necessary information in regards to competition and beyond.

CreW CHANgeYou can find the corresponding form in appendix. Deadline for submitting your changes is Wednesday June 21th, 2017 before 08.30h at the Info desk.

meDICAL CAreThe following medical services are available for all accredited participants of the World Cup: doctor on duty, hospital and clinic assistance. A medical centre (see Map1 position 4) will operate at the regatta course with physiotherapy, ambulance and first aid. The costs above the regular first aid, ambulance and physiotherapeutic services are to be covered by your medical insurance policy. The Organising Committee is not responsible to cover your expenses in connection with hospital treatment, dental treatment or any other medical treatment.

BOAT STOrAge, BOAT reNTALBoat racks are provided in the Athletes’ Area. Trailers are to be parked in a designated parking area (see Map1 position 18).

BOAT NUmBerS AND BODY NUmBerSThe body numbers to be worn during the whole duration of the competition can be collected by the team leaders at accreditation. The boat numbers can be collected one hour before the competition at the designated place next to ID control (see Map1 position 16)

ID CONTrOLThe competitors can embark only from the designated place before the competition where their body numbers, boat numbers and accreditation cards are checked (see Map 1 position 16).

SeCOND (POST rACe) BOAT CONTrOLAfter the race the competitors will be called to the second boat control and must disembark onto the designated place (see Map 1 position 19).

DOPINg CONTrOLThe selected competitors are subject to doping control conforming to the relevant regulations at the designated place (Map 1 position 17).

VICTOrY CeremONIeS:After the finals athletes have to stay at the 2nd boat control. From there they will go to the Victory Ceremonies. Trainers/coaches have to bring the uniform to the 2nd boat control.

DrINKINg WATer: Water from public mains is safe to drink. Water tanks with certified attest will be situated in the athletes’ area and bottles will be distributed to teams’tents.
