Christmas has arrived
Christmas has finally arrived and both of our stores are sparkling with this seasons
decorations. Our first ever Lathamshome online brochure will
share with you some of the colours and styles we have
available this year, and we have also given you a step by step
guide on how to decorate an artificial tree the Lathams way!
Lathamshome in Bishops Stortford has joined the ‘Uniquely
Stortford’ initiative. We, along with many other local retailers
in Bishops Stortford, have pooled our energies, talents and
resources to arrange a series of events and initiatives to generate
a buzz around our streets and attract shoppers into the town.
You can become a friend of the Lathamshome Facebook page
and also ‘Like’ the Uniquely Stortford Facebook page to be kept
up to date with all the future projects we have planned across
the town.
The first event that we and many other Bishops Stortford
traders are taking part in is an
all day Christmas Shopping event
on Sunday 4th December
which we would love you and your friends to come to, to
discover what a great place Stortford is to visit. There will be
mulled wine, mince pies, gift wrapping and lots more, plus
real Christmassy stuff happening in the streets such as choirs,
a market, music, Santa, and a treasure hunt!
Lathamshome will be providing festive nibbles and we will be
demonstrating throughout the day how to decorate an
artificial tree the Lathams way!
Don’t forget to visit our facebook pages and also visit our web-

Tree decorating the Lathams way........
We may all love the smell of a real Christmas tree but there are
benefits to having an artificial tree. No needles all over the floor
for starters.....and you can load it full of beautiful decorations
without weighing the branches down. For the traditionalists
artificial trees are so lifelike now that if you team them up with
scented sprays or candles you can still create that magical festive
atmosphere. Set up and fluff your tree, spreading all the branches out
evenly
Place in a pot if you wish, disguising the base, or place la pile
of logs or willow around the bottom.
Arrange the lights in a spiral around the tree, remember to test
your lights first.
Top your tree with your large star, heart or angel.
Starting near the top of the tree place in one of the most eye
catching decorations, in the tree opposite we chose the red
reindeer head tucked inside a small berry wreath. From there
add a collection of your other decorations to create a cluster.
Pair up other decorations such as baubles, stars, roses etc.
Repeat the same cluster following the line of the lights in a
spiral design around the tree.
Once all your clusters are in place fill
in all the spaces with more decora-
tions, including bows which you can
tie yourself with a thick wired ribbon.
Place any larger decorations around
the base of the tree where the tree is
wider.
REMEMBER......regularly stand back
and cast a critical eye over your tree,
rearranging items when needed.
