Introduction

Just four years ago, a document like this fact sheet didn’t exist.

And we know this is true, because back then, we scoured online

and offline sources looking for documents with hospital data for

Latin America. At the time we were handling market intelligence

projects for clients in the healthcare industry and had difficulty

researching Latin American hospitals because of the significant

lack of available data.

That gap is what inspired us to create Global Health Intelligence,

building a team to scope out the pertinent information that medi-

cal device manufacturers and other healthcare professionals

needed to track market changes and discover sales opportuni-

ties. It’s taken us several years, but we’ve made some significant

progress. These days, our database—known as HospiScope—of-

fers more than 130 data points for each one of more than 18,000

hospitals in 14 countries. Overall, HospiScope contains detailed

data on nearly 90% of the medical facilities in Latin America.

These fact sheets for different countries give you an essential

portrait of the key resources available in Latin American hospitals,

including infrastructure, use of healthcare technology and

installed equipment. We hope that they’ll serve as helpful

resource for you in understanding the region’s medical facilities.

But if you’d like deepen you understanding further, we have a

number of additional resources you can explore:

5 Mega-Trends in Latin American Healthcare

This whitepaper combines epidemiological and demographic

data with new 2017 information about equipment and technology

in Latin American hospitals to highlight 5 massive changes that

are already impacting healthcare in the region — and will shape it

for decades to come.

GHI Analysis

Our insights center covers the latest trends in Latin American

healthcare, including hot markets for medical devices, conditions

most affecting Latin America, deep dives into specific LatAm

countries, import data, key public health concerns and more.

GHI Database

All the data you’ll find in these hospital fact sheets come from

HospiScope. But they’re only the tip of the iceberg. To really un-

derstand the depth of what HospiScope offers and how it can

directly spike your sales by strategically revealing new sales op-

portunities, contact us for a demo.
