Presentation Notes
Overview of what all accounting/tax apprenticeships look like Each apprenticeship is made up of 2 x elements – the apprenticeship standard and the assessment plan The apprenticeship standard sets out which knowledge, skills and behaviours have to be developed and the assessment plan details how they will be assessed. All apprenticeships have to be assessed in two ways – EPA 1 and EPA2 Knowledge – this is the professional qualification courses and exams Skills and behaviours – on top of the professional qualification they also need to develop S&B, this ensures all round development. Often employers would say to us that they would have someone who is technically competent but didn’t have the professional skills to flourish, an apprenticeship ensure they get that all round development Gateway – conversation between bpp coach, line manager and learner to see that they’ve developed everything and are ready to sit EPA EPA1 – depends on which programme to what this is, in most cases is a synoptic/case study style exam EPA2 – depend on which programme, is a written portfolio/project at 4 and 7 and a professional discussion at level 3. We provide courses for EPA1 and provide feedback on draft submissions for EPA2 All underpinned by our BPP Performance Support team who keep learners engaged, motivated and prepared for success.

Yes, it is required Employer required to provide apprentice with 20% of their time spent on their apprenticeship and BPP is required to monitor this. We monitor it during the progress review calls. Off the job does not mean out of the office. But It is flexible and employer chooses how and when. BPP will monitor this through progress reviews. Here is an example of some of the activities that could make up the 20% time. How Employer provides i.e. induction to new role/responsibilities, shadowing colleagues, mentoring, internal training (IT, technical, skills and development training) Off the job does not mean out of the office BPP provides training i.e. attendance for pq training Mixture of both When Measured over the apprenticeship duration Can be delivered outside of contracted hours if employee given TOIL at time that suits the business

Working in Partnership All Round Development Success at Level 4
Why BPP Accounting Apprenticeships
Multiple Entry Points Professional Qualification Included
Funding Available
Presenter
Presentation Notes
Multiple entry points – we have planned this out and there will be an entry point for everyone. PQ included – will gain a professional qualification alongside their apprenticeship – which for level 7 is equivalent of a masters level qualification Funding available – can use levy funds for an apprenticeship, can’t for pq only. Non levy payers only need to pay 10% of the price and the government funds the rest Working in partnership - Working closely with the institutes, we have regular meetings to discuss requirements of the EPA and have conducted joined webinars and employer meetings together. We have successfully worked with employers to adopt the level 7 programme so that it compliments existing training practices All round development – ensures well rounded professionals who are technically competent but also have the required skills and behaviours to be a success in their roles Success at level 4 – we are the first provider to adopt accounting trailblazers, we have had over 200 people sit the EPA with a 90% success rate. Confidence that we have the experience and that your apprentices will succeed.
