Laura combines a distinguished 30-year real estate career with unflagging energy and fresh enthusiasm for each new deal. Her vast experience through both booming and challenging markets gives her a unique perspective to guide buyers and sellers to maximize their goals. A seven-year member of Saunders & Associates, Laura’s prior real estate experience includes 16 years at Allan M. Schneider Associates, where she was continuously a top 10 producer.

Laura moved to Southampton in 1976, earning an Environmental Sciences degree from Southampton College and pursuing graduate studies in Regional Planning at Stony Brook University. She subsequently joined the Nature Conservancy and documented their holdings on Shelter Island. Laura’s strong background in environmental planning and zoning regulations gives her an edge in real estate to understand the building potential of various properties, especially waterfront locations. Designing and building more than a dozen speculative ventures in the Hamptons in addition to other building and renovation projects along with her late husband, a respected architect, honed Laura’s skills in evaluating houses, land and subdivisions.

Laura pioneered many early developments of the Hamptons ranging from four to 35 lots, always keeping intact the integrity of the natural landscape. Her well-rounded experience includes major high-end deals as well as assisting first-time home buyers with follow-through even after the closing, earning her a broad base of repeat clients and referrals. She is also a consensus builder, having organized neighbors around a valued reserve to preserve an organic farm. Along with her personal integrity, she brings her trusted team of ancillary advisors to help clients and customers make the most informed decisions.

An avid sailor, member of the Sag Harbor Yacht Club and former Vice Commodore of the Breakwater Yacht Club in Sag Harbor, Laura shares her enthusiasm with customers to show them properties from the water side as well as on land. Never one to rest on her laurels, she keeps her eyes on the next Hamptons real estate horizon.

Saunders & Associates was launched in 2008 in the midst of the global fi nancial crisis. Led by Andrew Saunders, the fi rm has risen to become the most effective and largest locally owned brokerage fi rm in the Hamptons, exclusively representing $2 billion worth of Hamptons real estate. Another way we empower our agents to create and enable deals is by providing analysis services that review sales histories, permit requirements and zoning regulations. These are important considerations for clients and customers to contemplate when selling or purchasing a property. We understand that clarity is paramount for a smooth transaction.

Theresa Quigley, Esq. is our Executive Managing Director and General Counsel. She has been a practicing attorney for over 30 years in NYC and the Hamptons. Theresa directly assists our agents with zoning analysis, structuring transactions and negotiating deals. She interfaces with local government offi cials, surveyors, title companies, environmental engineers, house inspectors and lenders in an effort to move our transactions forward.

Theresa was Deputy Supervisor for East Hampton Town from 2010 through 2013 and worked for 15 years at the fi rm Farrell Fritz resolving real estate, tax, estate planning, corporate and environmental issues.
