SLED Level I-III Security Instructor TrainingAll participants must be currently registered with SLED as a security officer with a licensed security company to attend this training. SLED must approve all participants. Students will teach a 20-minute block of instruction on a security topic of their choice. Students must achieve a minimum score of 70 percent on both the written examination and oral presentation. Materials included.

S.C. Constable TrainingCourses cover policy and procedures, laws of arrest, search and seizures, crisis intervention, evidence, officer survival, handling prisoners, constitutional law, juvenile procedures/child abuse, police community relations, police communications, civil liabilities, ethics, and firearms. Also included are defensive tactics and weapons retention training.
Prerequisites: Must have authorization letter from SLED Regulatory Services to register. Students must make a 70 or above on the final exam and pass the firearms training/range qualifications. Public trust, public safety, and accountability by law enforcement agencies demand that commissioned state constables be of good character/reputation, and have no significant criminal record or unsuitable background.
Proper forms for pre-enrollment will be sent to the enrolled for completion prior to class. Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalency certificate. Candidates must first request an application packet from SLED (803.896.7015). Upon submission of
the application packet, the candidate may enroll in our course. Participants will need to provide their own handgun in one of the following calibers: .38, 9mm, .40, .357 or .45. They will also need a holster and 500 rounds of ammunition prior to firearms training. Materials included.
