Police Service HistoryLawrence Joined Birmingham City Police on two occasions, firstly on 12th June 1909, with warrant number 8115 and resigned shortly after being disciplined June 1912, and rejoined 12th August 1914 as a 32 year old. He served on the ‘D’ Division with warrant number 8522 and collar number D40.

He resigned 9th February 1915 to join the Military Mounted Police in Birmingham.

Birmingham City Police Museum Records confirms that Lawrence joined Birmingham City Police on 12th June 1909 with warrant number 8115, served on the ‘D’ Division, and later rejoined on August 12th 1914 to again serve on the ‘D’ Division with warrant number 8522 and his trade was listed as City Police and in remarks shows DIED

The 1911 Census shows Lawrence KENNY residing at Aston Manor Police Station, Victoria Road, Aston aged 29 and born in St Giles, London.

These men will report themselves for attestation and produce their Army parchments, marriage certificates, and the birth certificates of their children at the Recruiting Office, James Watt Street, at 10 am on Monday 8th inst.

They will then report themselves to the Provost Marshal, Aldershot on Tuesday 9th February.

The Watch Committee scale of allowances will be made to their dependants
