Laws pertaining to new driversProbitionary license is given to drivers who have completed their Behind the Wheel test and will be used until the drives first renewal.
Top 5 risk factors for new drivers
There are restrictions for the first 9 months.
May not drive alone between Midnight -5am unless driving between home, school, or work.
Between hours of 5am-Midnight, you may drive alone with any family members and one non-family member.
Restrictions can be extended 6 months if the driver is convicted of moving violations. • Demerit points are doubled after the 1st offense • If you recieve 12 points, license can be suspended

What I should know before visiting a Service Center
This application must be submitted to the Division of Motor Vehicles in order to recieve a Temporary Instruction Permit.
The form must be filled out accurately and legibly.
Anyone under the age of 18 must have a sponsor to get a Temporary Instruction Permit.
A sponsor’s signature must be witnessed by a Notary Public or driver license examiner at time of signing. Do not sign it prior.

Complete Sponsor Information (Sponsor does not have to be a licensed driver) a. If not a licensed driver, indicate WI ID number or Social Security number
Sponsors do not sign here until motor vehicle examiner or Notary Public is able to witness this signature
The Notary Public will provide this information (boxed off) a. His/Her name b. Name of Country c. Date of witnessed signature d. Date his/her commission expires (notary seal should be used)

Must have a valid instruction permit. • If under the age of 18, you must have held instruction permit for at least six months, have no violations in the previous six months, and have at least 30 hours driving practice. • Completed Driver Education Course (This is submitted electronically from school or you will be given a certificate of completion to give to DMV)
