You will certainly be bored of looking at the news headline “Chains Snatching in AECS Layout” or “Chain Snatching in BEML,” etc every week. But the fact is that chain snatching has become a common place occurrence in the surroundings. Two unknown miscreants snatched two gold chains of Ms. Priya, an AECS Layout A Block resident on Thursday.
At around 2.40 pm, there was a hullabaloo in E Block when chain snatching took place. Minutes later police men in motorcades and jeeps arrived for enquiry. It looked like there was going to be more police, more patrolling, more alertness to put an end to chain snatching. But everyone dispersed in about 40 minutes and no news heard about it in the circle later. No news about the thieves who came in motorcycle. Some one from the public gave identification marks of chain robbers to the police. The police live in a different world that they are not reachable easily by the media. They do not have time to talk to reporters. Nor they have developed a better communication channel with the neighbourhood. Is it too much to expect of them? In the modern c o m m u n i t y w i t h a g r o w i n g population, it is a must for the police department to maintain friendliness and communicat ion to solve problems. How this will happen if they close the avenue and be in their own world?
Police have to sharpen their instinct. This is being inherited by virtue of one's duty consciousness.

The population of people in our country is about 500 times more than the strength of police. The police in our country are only there to maintain the law. But on the lower level, there are a number of violence and corruption. It is the effect of the general corrosion of values all over the place. Though many of the police officers are sincere, people easily lose faith in the department because of w i d e s p r e a d c o r r u p t i o n a n d difficulties they come across.
Sometimes, it good to have a policeman in every civilian, i.e to remain vigilant to avoid any mishaps. In a Tamil movie called Vetiadu Veliadu, actor Kamal Hasan plays the role of police. Let's consider Kamal's gut instinct that leads him like a police hound dog through hundreds and hundreds of feet of walkways to a site in the ground containing mutilated bodies. A sincere and duty conscious policemen will certainly treat this a possible thing in his life. When out entire police force is going to raise their level thereby serving the public in a far better way?

What is happiness? Is it a mere pleasure feeling? Is it a mere fleeting emotion or mood? Probably none of these.
Happiness is a state of mind. It is a way of living. It is a way or manner you interpret the events in your life. It is not dependent up on the wealth you possess. It is not dependent up on the status and recognition you have. If we look around, we are able to meet lot of successful people who are luxuriously miserable. On the contrary you may also come across good number of people in the lower strata of society leading a happy and peaceful life.
Unhappy people convince you to be miserable. They suffer pain by recreating it moment to moment. Every one of us is fitted with a hidden contact lens. The power of this unseen contact lens is in terms of the Unhappiness Quotient. It is measured in an imaginary scale varying from one to ten. For the majority this quotient varies between five and ten and for the remaining few this quotient slides down from five to one.
Look a t the people whose unhappiness quotient is one. You will find him carrying a pleasant disposition and a cheerful face. Whatever difficulties he faces his state of mind remains calm and peaceful. He is ever ready to accept all sorts of situations and view them in a most positive perspective. On the contrary, let us consider another person whose unhappiness quotient is ten. All around us we are crowded with those in this level of unhappiness. They are all working sincerely in the manufacturing business. What is the product they are manufacturing? They are producing
worries. They constantly engage themselves in creating images of what went wrong yesterday and what all things could go wrong tomorrow. They have been programmed to interpret every situation in its most unpleasant and unhappy manner. Anger and jealousy are their constant companions.
People always think that what they want is money, relationships and material possessions. But what they truly want is happiness. When you buy a new car, a new house or whatever, you are trying to buy h a p p i n e s s . We a l t h , h e a l t h a n d relationships or just the rewards of being happy.
To sum up, two things that will change the way you perceive this happiness thing is:
You can create a positive belief system replacing the present thought patterns. Beliefs are not right, wrong, true or false. They are just past opinions which can be changed on your command.
The fact is you can CHOOSE to think in ways that will support you to view situations and people in positive way and continue to remain happy in a consistent manner. NOVICE COOKSpinach Salad With Orange
Sesame Dressing
1 bunch fresh spinach (about 6 cups of leaves)1 red or yellow bell pepper, cut into strips1/4 to 1/2 cup thinly sliced red onion1 orange, peeled and sliced into thin rounds1 Tbsp. sesame seeds2 Tbsp. seasoned rice vinegar1 Tbsp. orange juice concentrate1 Tbsp. water
Trim the spinach stems and carefully wash the leaves. Dry, then tear any large leaves into bite-size pieces. Place in a salad bowl along with the pepper, onion, and orange slices. Toast the sesame seeds in a 400°F toaster oven or regular oven for 10 minutes. Transfer to a blender and grind into a powder. Add the vinegar, orange juice concentrate, and water. Blend to mix. Pour over salad and toss just before serving.

Poisonous Snails to Offer PainkillersThe next generation of pain killing drugs may be hidden in poisonous sea snails found off Australia's coastline, according to researchers. Professor David Adams, director of the Health Innovations Research Institute at Melbourne's RMIT, briefed that the snails contain a cocktail of powerful agents, called peptides, in their venom, which can be used to treat pain in humans. Researchers are trying to
isolate those agents in a bid to develop a less problematic alternative to morphine. In some of the old medical reports where people have been stung by these cone snails, they don't feel pain, most of them die because of respiratory paralysis. In a way nature has done a lot of the work, these peptides are designed to target receptors in pain pathways. The scientists job is just to find them and put them to use.
