Successful Double Crop Soybeans begin with selection of the best wheat varietiesWhy choose ultra early and early wheat varieties?

Ultra Early and Early Varieties will give high yield. Select those varieties

with high test weight and tolerance to head scab

Plant early varieties first in the fall to increase early harvest ( one week

earlier planting will gain one day early harvest)

Use good fertilizer recommendations for fall seeding for uniform growth

Apply “N” at green up to get quick spring growth and added tillers

Harvest your crop at its maturity between 16% and 18 %. Chose varieties

which have light straw and are easy to combine.

Important: One week earlier harvest will increase the odds for additional

rain fall on the double crop soybeans to establish a stand quicker and

provide a longer growing season which will increase soybean yield.

Negative: One week later wheat harvest may lower the test weight, over

all yield and increase grain damage from weathering and disease
