Home learning w/b: 6.7.20 Year: 4 Message from Mrs Hills and Mrs Stevenson Hello Year 4! We hope you’ve all had a good week and that those children, who came back to school, had a good time – I really enjoyed seeing you! For those of you staying at home, please do as much home learning as you normally do. Remember you don’t have to do everything that is on the grid – just do what you can. For those of you who are coming into school, a reminder that we won’t be expecting you to do as much home learning as you may have been doing. On the days you are not here, the things we would really like you to focus on are maths, reading and writing. We know that you won’t be able to do more than three sessions in Writing and Maths and that is fine. Of course, if you would like to do any of the other subjects too, you can! Thank you to those of you who have sent us pictures and messages. It’s good to know that you are keeping yourselves busy. Raisa has shared her art all about things she really likes. The Colosseum was drawn by Naomi. Ibi made a fantastic chariot. As well as dressing up as a Roman, Sofia has been baking dog biscuits and selling them to raise money for the school. My dog loved hers and she can be really fuzzy, so they must be delicious! Well done Sofia. Keep sharing your work with us. The email address to send it to is year4@lea- pri.herts.sch.uk . Dear Y4, It’s been lovely seeing most of you in school this week. School is a little different at the moment, but I was happy to see how much you have been enjoying it. Those that have not been in, we are missing you and hope your all doing well. I’ve seen some lovely work that you have sent in, I’ve been so impressed with all the effort you have been putting into your home learning. Well done everyone! Continue to stay safe and well and most importantly, stay happy and positive. Wishing you all well. Mrs Dada x

Message from Mrs Hills and Mrs Stevenson

Hello Year 4!

The email address to send it to is [email protected].

Dear Y4,

It’s been lovely seeing most of you in school this week.

Wishing you all well.Mrs Dada x

and measure https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/ Follow the link and do the suggested activities on BBC Bitesize.

Remember to keep practising your times tables – every day! Don’t forget to practise the division facts too. Make sure you go on TTR at least 3-4 times per week.

2. The next writing task is linked to last week’s book ‘The Place Between’ and can be spread over a few days if you want. The link to the books is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZIepFjnn0fM. Write a clearly sequenced narrative starting from the point Leon steps into the box. See the end of the document for more information.

Try to do some writing every day and don’t forget to use our ETWW rules:

Say it, write it, read it Use our neatest handwriting Use capital letters and full stops Check spellings of our High Frequency Word

ScienceExplore this link - https://www.dkfindout.com/uk/science/solids-liquids-and-gases/

There is lots of information about solids, liquids and gases - some which you will know and other new facts. Once you've explored the link you can have a go at the quiz (I didn't get all the questions right, some are tricky but you'll learn some new and impressive facts!)

PSHEThis term we are Aiming High! This week we want you to think about whether some jobs are for men, and some are for women? Draw a quick sketch of a ballet dancer, a dentist and a teacher. Then look at your picture – have you shown a man or a woman in the role?! It is important to understand that gender does not limit what you can become in the future!

Have a go then at the job advertisement sheet at the end of the document.

Physical activityJoe Wicks is doing his workouts on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday mornings at 9am. Join him for a fun mixture of exercise and quizzes to test your general knowledge! Or go to the Fitter Futures website https://www.fitterfuture.com/ and have a go at the workouts. These are between 6 and 9 minutes long and can be done at any time of the day. Try to mix up the type you choose of exercise you do, so you complete a balance of cardio and core strength activities. The new password for KS1 is 4aebp – this had to be reset so please ask an adult to log on for you, as we must not change the password.

TransitionHave you thought about moving to year 5 in September? We are sure there are some things you are looking forward to, and probably other things that you are worried about. Both these feelings are completely normal! Divide a piece of paper and write a list for each feeling. Then talk about it to an adult. If you are in school, you will also have the chance to meet your new

HistoryMy task for this week has nothing to do with the Romans but I would like you to watch one of the episodes from BBC Iplayer Celebrity Supply Teacher. This one is based in History but is actually very topical as there is a lot on the news about how Black Lives Matters. The Historian Martin Bashir talks about an event in History which had a very big impact. Watch it and maybe you can discuss any questions you have regarding it with your parents.https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m000k6hc/celebrity-supply-teacher-series-1-2-

There are lots of other topics covered in the series ‘Celebrity Supply Teacher’, so could also watch some other episodes.
