This past August, alumni organized the “Stuff the Bus” project to support the Chamber’s Classroom Collection Campaign. Over 64,000 school supplies were collected during the campaign, of which a significant portion can contributed to “Stuff the Bus”. The class of 2013 organized a fundraiser to challenge alumni to donate to Allied Churches of Alamance County. Dinner and a Show brought a group of approximately 25 alumni together to reconnect and support our local arts this February. Alumni met for dinner at the Cutting Board and then enjoyed the production of “Hairspray” at the Paramount Theater. In April, alumni volunteered a morning of their time to give back to the community with a Habitat Build. Alumni had the opportunity to participate in Four Learn with Leaders Series events featuring: Mr. Allen Gant, Glen Raven, Inc. Dr. Pete Ronayne, Center for Creative Leadership Getting Back on the Bus with: Brian Hall, Samet Corporation David Cheek, Mebane City Manager Frankie Maness, Graham City Manager Mr. Barry Bradberry, Elon University Members of the association are committed to act as a vehicle for positive change in Alamance County and remain an informed citizen for our community. Take at look at the alumni’s community involvement for the 2015-16 program year!

Leader of Distinction AwardThe Leader of Distinction Award recognizes the accomplishments of one of our most distinguished alumni. This annual award highlights a program graduate who has demonstrated transformative leadership in their organization and/or in the community whether through their work, involvement in board service, direct volunteer action or advocacy, or service while in an elected office. They should exemplify the program goal of informed, skilled, and involved leaders for Alamance County. Nominations can be made by an employer, friend, co-worker, and/or representative from an organization in which the individual has been involved. All nominees must be a graduate of the Leadership Alamance program.

For more information and to print a nomination form, please visit the Chamber’s website, www.alamancechamber.com, and click on the LA Alumni Association link under the Leadership tab.

Nominations will be reviewed by the Leader of Distinction Selection Committee. This year's recipient will be recognized in January at the Alamance Chamber’s Annual Meeting.
