-First experience with community involvement-Became a ward captain, saw highest voter turnout in City of Madison-Inspired to return to school for Political Science degree

MATC Student Senate, 2009

-Ran for Student Senate-Elected with highest percentage of vote-Focused on textbook affordability & transportation through committee involvement

MATC Student Senate VP, 2010-Vice President of Administration & Finance-Restructured 3-year-plan and fiscal year budget

Organization won several awards due to strong teamwork, including Student Organization of the Year and Leadership Team with Highest GPA.

Student Senate President Continued-Created Transportation Referendum to fully fund campus transportation methods, including Madison Metro bus program and campus-to-campus shuttle program-Advocated at state level for Technical College ID inclusion in Voter ID law-Funded GHC health clinic on campus through student fees, which all enrolled students can use at no additional cost

MATC Alternate Breaks, 2011, 2012

Team member, 2011-Volunteered at youth homeless shelters-Central Park cleanupTrip lead, 2012-Provided support for a team of 12 students -Restored houses with Occupy Sandy, a Hurricane Sandy relief effort-Volunteered at local food pantries and homeless shelters

Emerge, WI 2015-Member of Emerge, WI Class of 2015-Attends trainings throughout State of Wisconsin, January through July-Trainings cover a wide variety of topics aimed at building strong female leadership, including running a campaign diversity and fundraising

Leadership after College-My leadership experience throughout my college education has taught me the value of community involvement and the positive feeling that comes along with helping others-I have accepted a full-time position at the Latino Academy of Workforce Development, where I can continue to use the leadership skills that I have developed throughout college to serve my community-Looking through these experiences has assured me that my spare time in college has been well spent, and I am proud of my accomplishments
