The best leaders can match their styles, behaviours and qualities to different situations they find themselves in.

In order for them to do this they need to have certain qualities: Example: Patience: Confidence:

Dictatorship.

Task 1 (Pass 3)

In pairs you are to identify all the a leaders that you know and write them down, next to these you are to write the qualities that you think make them a leader: (3.30mins)

Next: you are to join another group and pick 3 or 4 leaders and see if you have wrote the same leader qualities: (3.08mins)

Now: join another group and pick 1 or 2 leaders and write down any of the same qualities so you come up with a decisive list: (2.28mins)

Now: one person from your group will have 1min to present your findings. (1mins)

if you want to build confidence in your group, you must first display confidence in yourself. A good leader will people responsibility and support them in these decisions.

Qualities discussion.(Merit 3)

If you was the leader in these situation how would you handle it?

In the 1999 European Cup semi-final Roy Keane got booked and as a result of this was to miss the final. They were losing 2-0 at the time. However, with Keane leading the way United went on to win 3-2 and progressed to the final.

You are captain of your team, playing in the semi-final. After 30minutes your team is losing 2-0 and to make matters worse you have just been booked and will now miss the final.

You are going to take part in a group activity were you will compete against other teams within the class.

During the first two tasks each person in the group will write down who they think is the leader.

You will competing for points. 1st – 10 Points 2nd – 5 Points 3rd – 2 Points

In your groups you are going to build the tallest towers (using only straws).

It has to be free standing.

carpet.All your group have to stand on the magic carpet. Now all you have to do is turn the carpet over. However, no one is allowed to touch the floor around the carpet. G

3 Chair Swopping. In your group you are to change seats with other member in the group. However, you have to swop with someone from the other end of the group. i.e. 1,2,3,4,5 to become 5,4,3,2,1
