M a s t e r o f C e r e m o n i e s As the state's first Broadcast Film Critic, Renee Shapiro has been quoted on DVDs and in the New York Times. Renee has interviewed some of the biggest stars in Hollywood, including Tom Cruise, Matt Damon, Dustin Hoffman and Steven Spielberg. Viewers get an inside look at the movies from her coverage of the Toronto Film Festival and the Critics Choice Awards. A native Arkansan, Renee grew up in Pine Bluff, and after completing what she calls her "Arkansas Animal House Tour of Colleges", graduated from UALR with a degree in Communications. Renee has been with KATV since 1994 as an Account Executive. Between celebrity interviews and hanging with her dogs (George Clooney and Grace Kelly), Renee can be found at a theatre near you where she sees 3-5 movies a week and is living her dream.

S p e a k e r Jason Jolley is the first Arkansas-based rep for FranklinCovey and is in his 4th year. Jason currently resides in Cabot and has lived in the Central Arkansas area for 20 years. Jason travels throughout the Arkansas and Northern Louisiana area introducing FranklinCovey content to companies and organizations via presentations and meetings. Jason earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (1991) from Elmhurst College in Illinois. Prior to his work at FranklinCovey, he has held the following positions: Assistant Store Manager with Wal-Mart, Account Rep with Frito Lay, and Account Sales Manager with PepsiCo.

"THIS IS ME" : Leading and supporting your cast of characters is a high-wire act. The surprise movie hit of this Oscar season, The Greatest Showman, tells the fascinating story of PT Barnum and his rags to riches life. Not only does the movie entertain us as we root for PT and his cast of characters, but we also learn some valuable Team-Building and Leadership lessons along the way. In this engaging presentation, we'll see that:

Leaders clearly envision their future

Failure is part of your leadership journey

Kindness changes lives

Great Leaders make it about their team

Belinda Horton, PHR, SHRM-CP Oscar Committee Chair Our red carpet Oscar celebration will be March 1st… We look forward to seeing everyone there. This event is a time to recognize those members and organizations that have made a contribution to the HR profession over the past year. It has been a really fun time each year and we know this year will be even more fun….. and we’re expecting some special guests from Hollywood! We have prepared FAQ’s to answer most of your Oscar questions: Do you have to dress up?

NO! You can if you want but it is absolutely not necessary. Some people like to dress up a little more than usual just for fun but we all have to return to work after the meeting, so regular work clothes are appropriate.

Do you get HRCI credits?

Absolutely! We have a speaker and you get credit just like any other meeting.

How long is this program?

It will probably go over about 15 minutes past 1:00 but we have regular meetings that sometimes go over a little also. If you can’t stay for the extra time, it is understandable if you have to leave at 1:00.

What about the lunch?

Even better than usual! And it is always good! Will there be alcoholic beverages served?

No. We do serve sparkling grape juice, but no alcohol will be served. Again, we have to return to work after the meeting.

We look forward to seeing everyone at the Oscars on March 1 meeting It will be a lot of fun! Remember, it is still a monthly meeting - just spiced up a little! If you have any other questions, please call the HRMA office at (501) 372-0929.
