Backup and Recovery So�ware Solu�ons Publisher - estab-lished in 1996NetJapan, Inc., (NetJapan) was founded in 1996 with a vision to introduce leading-edge technology from over-seas to the Japanese market to make people’s lives easier when it comes to IT. NetJapan opened up a new market by being one of the first companies to introduce sector-based backup imaging solu�ons to the Japanese IT market.

Only one technology - Developing innova�ve backup productsIn line with its “Only one technology” philosophy, in 2009 NetJapan released Ac�veImage Protector, a proprietary backup so�ware solu�on developed com-plete in-house and targeted for world-wide distribu-�on. Ac�veImage Protector is a high-speed backup and disaster recovery solu�on that can significantly reduce backup processing �me even when dealing with very large amounts of data.

Another example of Only one technology comes in the form of data deduplica�on. Our compe�tors designed offline deduplica�on solu�ons that not only require the purchase of addi�onal hardware, but also greatly increasing backup processing �me. NetJapan took a different approach and developed Inline Data Dedupli-ca�on and Compression (IDDC). IDDC allows users to efficiently eliminate duplicate data and compress image files while a backup is being made, not a�er.

More recently, server virtualiza�on has been a sweep-ing trend. NetJapan released Ac�veImage Protector for Microso� Hyper-V in 2010 and vmGuardian for VMware in 2013; bringing to market the next genera�on of agentless backup solu�ons for hosts and live virtual machines, featuring instant recovery technologies.

would take a long �me to restore. This sort of situa�on can create significant problems for businesses in terms of lost �me and lost revenue. This is why NetJapan developed Seamless Hot Restore (SHR), in the event a virtual machine crashes or otherwise fails, SHR can quickly start a fully func�onal replacement VM from a backup image while simultaneously restoring the same VM in the Hyper-V environment, providing instanta-neous recovery without impac�ng produc�on.

In 2015, NetJapan released ImageBoot and vStandby as part of their DisasterReady range of instant availability solu�ons.ImageBoot is a free so�ware add-on that bypasses lengthy recovery �mes by boo�ng an Ac�veImage Protector full or incremental backup image as a tempo-rary replacement virtual machine in as li�le as 2 minutes in either VMware or Hyper-V.

vStandby creates and maintains dormant virtual repli-cas of physical and virtual machines. In the event of a system crash or failure, a vStandby replica can be booted in seconds, ensuring instant availability both systems and data.

Redefining the conven�onal idea of backup and disaster recovery, these two products represent a bold new approach to disaster recovery and business con�nuity.
